Miles Bridges (paraphrased): "It's tough losing to a school that isn't tough"

Michigan State's Miles Bridges on losing to Michigan: "We just gotta get tougher. It's pretty simple. Teams are out-toughing us. ...That's tough, especially to a school like that, that don't even focus on [being tough]."

Their entire offense is "run really fast". My favorite sequence was a sloppy MAC possession followed by a fast break Livers dunk, then Sparty threw it in immediately and sprinted back up court only to throw it out of bounds. Turns out it's hard to score points when you don't actually have an offensive plan

I have no idea how teams/players quantify "toughness".  And to say that another team does or does not focus on it feels 100% like coachspeak that people fail to recognize as 100% bullshit.  Michigan has largely played MSU even since Beilein arrived, and to continue to believe that one team coached by the same guy for a decade isn't "tough" enough to beat you in a game of basketball is silly.

I think he means “big.” It was clear that they had a size advantage, which, in the past, has made Michigan play more outside games. But we’re finally seeing a real finesse small-ball team full of athletic players, that are about equal athletically, just of a different style.

The dunking comment?

Mid first half after a big dunk that led onto a break, sideline reporter told the announcers beilein told team don’t worry about the dunks. It makes their fans happy but its only 2 points.

Great quote.

Sorry, but Izzo isn't a good offensive coach -- it's where talent goes to die anymore.

Looks like we might have gotten the upper hand on the Z-Winston trade, doesn't it?

If I'm not mistaken, the best player on the floor today wasn't even 100% recovered from injury, and go figure he was on the team that won. What do you know about "toughness"?

Beilein is a better basketball coach than Izzo. You throw them both in the NBA with their philosophies and see who has success.

Michigan State's Tom Izzo on losing to Michigan: "We just gotta get more upperclassmen in there regardless if they're passing up millions in the NBA. It's pretty simple. Teams are out-toughing us. ...That's tough, especially to a school like that, that don't even focus on the self-interest of the coaches by keeping their upperclassmen around like we do."
