Hopefully the team feels the same way

Beat Ohio.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:21 PM ^
Pretty trivial between Clemson/Michigan. Clearly if Michigan runs the table they jump Clemson, and even that's not for 4th spot. That's for 3rd at worst.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:22 PM ^
If we beat OSU and Illinois twice we'll be 2nd at worst behind an undefeated SEC champion if that exists.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:25 PM ^
Well, we can quibble over whether you could have two SEC teams 1,2 and then Mich, but regardless, we would still be in the 2/3 game ahead of an undefeated Clemson.
November 1st, 2022 at 11:11 PM ^
There is 0 chance we are below #2 in the CFP rankings if we win out. I realize there is SEC love out there but we have earned some respect after last year.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:30 PM ^
This, if we win out were in the 2/3 game in the playoffs

Is that you Jim Tomsula???
November 1st, 2022 at 7:34 PM ^
It is not
November 1st, 2022 at 7:22 PM ^
5 ? What a joke. Clemson sucks and osu hasn't done anything more than we have. I would say our win over Maryland is far better than their win over Notre dame. And we destroyed psu and osu barely won that game.

CSU
Hawaii
UCONN
Big Ten is pretty trash this year and we haven’t played the good teams yet. What did you really expect?
November 1st, 2022 at 7:22 PM ^
Win out and we will be where we want to and need to be
November 1st, 2022 at 7:22 PM ^
This is good.

November 1st, 2022 at 7:22 PM ^
I think Michigan would obliterate Clemson.
Michigan has chances to move up even before The Game, if they look good enough especially vs. Illinois.
As we all knew, a lot will hinge upon The Game.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:44 PM ^
We may, but on paper they look better than us. They have beaten 3 ranked teams with two of them on road. We are not as good as them on paper.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:57 PM ^
Top 3 games by SP+
Clemson - at Wake Forest (34) in 2 OT, vs. NC State (43) by 10, vs. Syracuse (48) by 6
Michigan - vs Penn State (15) by 24, vs. Maryland (26) by 7, at Iowa (31) by 13
So by SP+ Michigan has played 3 teams better than Clemson's best opponent and they handled those teams better than Clemson.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:23 PM ^
You can see how they're trying to position 3 SEC teams if Clemson loses with Alabama #6. Bama is legitimately 2 plays away from being a 3-loss team. But sure, let's reward them for being good in past seasons.
Clemson is whatever; they are the best of a bad conference and at this point they're just lining up to be thumped by 14-21 by anyone else in the top 6.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:40 PM ^
I think that's the silver lining in all of this. Besides the fact that there is a ton of games left to be played, if Michigan ends up playing Clemson in the first round of the playoff then I think we can pencil Michigan into the final.
November 1st, 2022 at 8:28 PM ^
I think they will make sure to split up the SEC teams in the 4 team playoff bracket, in hopes of another all SEC final

November 1st, 2022 at 7:24 PM ^
Who cares. If they win out they’re in.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:24 PM ^
I'm sure there was some discussion about how bad it would look if there were two SEC teams and two B1G teams in the top four, so that probably led them to flip Michigan and Clemson.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:47 PM ^
I would assume confidently in that reason. However, that was the reason for creating the playoffs, to include an eye test. Doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure out who has looked dominate the entire season between UM and Clemson. Oh well, time will tell.
November 1st, 2022 at 8:10 PM ^
That actually makes sense. Good point.
November 2nd, 2022 at 6:32 AM ^
May have some merit, but that's a shit reason. Clemson is not one of the best four right now. For me, this committee lost it credibility already.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:25 PM ^
Garbage... Clemson should not be in top 5
November 1st, 2022 at 7:27 PM ^
A trash ranking for a trash committee. Just keep winning and show them who we are period.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:26 PM ^
let's not forget the last time it was #2 OSU vs #5 Mich l.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:26 PM ^
Will it take being shutout of the CFP for WM and JH to change our OOC scheduling?
(Yes, I know we have Tex and OK on the schedules, but I'm not convinced they stay on)
November 1st, 2022 at 7:28 PM ^
We had UCLA on our schedule and things were screwed up because of COVID. The ooc is not our fault and I do t care what anyone says. If you have watched both teams this season it is so obvious Michigan is far better than Clemson
November 1st, 2022 at 10:52 PM ^
Uh, COVID had nothing to do with the UCLA cancellation. We canceled it in October 2019.
We canceled it because we wanted more home games for money, and you can also argue that we canceled it because of the committee. We scheduled it in the first place because when the playoff started, strength of schedule was said to be taken into strong consideration more than overall record, and they've proven time and again that that's not the case.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:34 PM ^
This is a stupid take. We're not "getting shut out" if we beat OSU. There's going to be a maximum of 4 undefeated teams left, and we'd be one of them.
If we lose to OSU and there are some spots for 1-loss teams and we don't get one... meh.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:26 PM ^
Funny that Michigans criticism was a weak nonconference, yet Clemson played Georgia Tech, Furman, and La Tech. The ACC is doodoo
November 1st, 2022 at 7:27 PM ^
Ahh…. Figured it out why the ACC teams were ranked high/valued that put Clemson up over us. Boo Corrigan is NC State AD 🤦🏻♂️ Isn’t Warde on the panel?
November 1st, 2022 at 7:28 PM ^
Not a big deal. Just keep winning and everything will be taken care of. Each team controls their own fate. 10RC better enjoy this year because Hooker and Heupel will be gone next year.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:28 PM ^
Doesn't matter at all if we win out.
If we lose to OSU, we join the gaggle of 1-loss teams clambering for a spot should one of the four* unbeatens fall. That's when everything gets a lot more interesting.
(Georgia plays Tennessee and we play OSU so we're down to 4 one way or another).

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
November 1st, 2022 at 7:29 PM ^
Don’t care if TN or GA wins, just hoping for a massive blowout either way. If it’s close, the committee will keep them both in it.
November 1st, 2022 at 8:21 PM ^
Disagree. #1 Bama lost to TN by 3, and Bama dropped all the way to 6th.
The CFP may have punked UM a bit tonight, but no way the CFP keeps a one-loss team ahead of UM next Tuesday. If the CFP was willing to put a 1-loss team ahead of undefeated UM, then Bama would be ahead of UM already.

November 1st, 2022 at 7:29 PM ^
Definitely some SEC ESPN bullshit going on. Just win baby. The rest will take care of itself.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:29 PM ^
Honestly top ten LSU might be the most insane thing on that list. Lost to Florida State and tried very hard to lose to that garbage Auburn team but couldn't. Tennessee blew them out.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:30 PM ^
Hilarious. Also, Clemson in front of UM? Wow.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:31 PM ^
Just win, baby.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:33 PM ^
Just what I thought they would do. LSU at 10 to pump up Bama schedule.
Keep winning.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:41 PM ^
Having Oregon up there pumps up Georgia even more.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:34 PM ^
Welcome chip to shoulder. Win out and it does not matter.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:36 PM ^
Fuck Clemson and the weak ass ACC
November 1st, 2022 at 7:37 PM ^
Get ready for the loser of the Georgia/Tennessee game to make the playoffs *despite* not being in their conference championship game but the loser of UM/OSU to not make it *because* of not being in their conference championship game
November 1st, 2022 at 7:42 PM ^
Yep, Georgia, Tennessee and Bama can all end the season with 1 loss and be in playoff contention
