Michigan Basketball Ennui vs. Northwestern Game Thread/Snowflakes

Their superstar starts limping - we get a chance at a brief advantage.  Howard immediately calls a timeout.  Wow.

Can we admit Howard is not good now? Just because people thought he was going to be a good coach doesn’t mean he would be. Didn’t people think Darko or Kwame Brown were going to be a good players? How’d that workout.

Purdue-Ohio State-Rutgers-Nebraska left, Do we win any of those? Are we looking at a 3-17 conference record, 8-23 overall?

I told myself I was not going to watch and I’d held off most of the season. I made a mistake.

The refs have called many pity fouls on our behalf. This is pathetic. 

Since our 16-5 lead, NW has outscored us by 25 (and counting).

The players r good and they have heart.  It is atrocious to see them suffer at the hands of abysmal coaching.  Thought Ono would be a change agent but turns out he’s unable to make tough calls.  Warde is nicely sinking the ship.

anyone watch Reed?  He plays with negative leverage. Instead of using his height he carries ball hunched over and  when goes to basket he looks like someone at a big height disadvantage. Bizarre. Where's the coaching ?  He's gotten worse.  People talk about the lack of guards but I see it as lack of big men.

This just needs to end.

If there's one small silver lining of this season is knowing that all of these non-Purdue teams in the conference are going to flame out hilariously in the NCAA/NIT tournaments.  I mean, Purdue may as well but they've at least got a colorable argument for going far.  But the 4th-best team in this conference, per record, is this extremely mediocre NW team.

Anyway, I honestly didn't expect a team playing 7-ish players to be all that competitive and the fact they were for a half was commendable.  But this is just a truly shitty team now without a bunch of semi-good players.

I think I still want to go to the big ten tourney just so all the other big ten fans see my national championship gear. That’s my coping mechanism for this awful basketball season. 

Good thing Juwan is there telling them not to foul down 20. He has plenty of experience.

Football and basketball still have the same amount of wins in 2024.
