I don't know what happened between the first 3 games of the year and the last 2, but it's like 2 completely different teams. The current iteration of the team is not even going to sniff the NCAA tournament. It looks like it is going to be a long winter.

Besides the turnovers, shooting 37% from 2 and 25% from 3 isn’t a winning formula. After the hot start to the season I thought we’d be an improved shooting team. Could be a long season if these guys don’t improve the offense and stop turning it over.

This is year 5 and I still have no idea what the identity of Howard’s teams are? With Beilein you knew 1-3-1, back cuts and perimeter shooting, especially from the bigs.

Memphis just looks better. I think the hot shooting from the first couple of games probably wasn't what the team would be game to game. I think they have guys that are just going to struggle scoring and shooting like they have prior.

We rely so heavily on Dug that there's really no offensive flow without him setting everyone up. Nimari is definitely better than I thought and looks like a solid shooter. He's not a PG though so those non-Dug minutes are just absolutely awful.

Olivier is struggling since he can't shoot 3s either, and he doesn't seem to be getting the ball in his spots like the first couple of games. He's great down in the post and midrange area where can work towards the basket.

TWill just needs open 3s and straight line dribbles after a close out. He's just not any kind of ball handler or creator.

They have a lot of mental mistakes on defense, but it doesn't look like physical disadvantages so they should improve there a bit and are hopefully at least fine by conference play.

I think they'll battle back a bit in the 2nd half but I think Memphis is honestly just better.

There are some decent players on this team, but they have to learn to play together.  Also, if the defense doesn't improve this year I'd be fine with a regime change.  Overall effort and defense are starting to become a serious concern under this staff

For this team to do anything Dug must lead it. I suspect being the only ball handler is taking a toll on the young guy. I’ll still root for this team and pray they improve. Go Blue!

Martelli let TWill cook. But Juwan doesn’t want to do that for some reason. Difference in the game right now
