Lorenz and others now putting their ballz on Elliott going to Texas.

Elliott going to Texas. Recruiting has gone from the ridiculous to the sublime. If this happens I hope Elliott apologizes to the blogger who he called out for saying he would end up at Texas.

And yes EFF the fishwrap. Its funny how they harrass/beg you @ every Miejers in town to get a subscription. Telling you they will give you $50.00 toward your food bill if you would just please sign up. Then their sports writers piss off a couple hundred thousand M[chigan fans and alumni to the point of not only swearing off the paper but they're telling everyone they know that they would not pay for a prescription even if they were forced. Great marketing.

when you put your ballz on things, it marks them as your possessions. it is an alpha move. be sure to place your ballz on as many items as you can throughout the day to maximize your gains.

Granted, I just got back to work after a month or so of medical leave, but there is a stapler which I swear has not moved from the copier station near the door to my office in all that time. It seems like it is even in the same precise spot as it was when I was last there - I am beginning to think that this might be why and now I am loathe to put that stapler where it actually should go.

The Swenson stuff doesn't bother me... you may not like recruting but at least its an open relationship on both ends.  The player can walk away and the college can walk away at any point prior to signing on the dotted line and if that's what's in their best intersts, then so be it.

If true, Elliott is clearly a guy with some issues. Not because he didn't choose Michigan, but because he has demonstrated a clear lack of focus and consistency. Would this be his fourth different commitment? Even if he had come to Michigan, he's clearly not very dependable. Maybe this is for the best.

Think Clark ended up at Pitt when all was said and done.

As for Elliott, yes he does sound like Clark.  I dont have an issue with him changing his mind - I just wish he had not said stuff like "I am all done with everyone, Michigan for life" blah blah about 3 weeks ago.

I know Magnus was not high on Elliott for what it is worth.

Elliott is a pretty decent athlete. I think he is a bit overrated. But perhaps most importantly, guys who change their minds this often frequently struggle in college. It's one thing to commit to a small-ish program and then flip when bigger programs come calling (say, Roy Roundtree going from Purdue to Michigan). It's quite another to bounce from Houston to Baylor to Michigan to Texas (if he does that). We'll see. Even if he sticks with Michigan, I don't think it would surprise anyone if he transferred if/when things don't go his way.

I'm not going to call Elliott flaky, but.....

I would give him the benefit of the doubt that he is just taking "a free trip down the road to visit friends."  However, given his history and reliable people like Steve Lorenz and Sam Webb saying there is good chance he flips to texas....People just aren't giving him that benefit of the doubt.

Good luck to Elliott...I hope he doesn't turn into Chris Clark 2.0.  Maybe staying close to home will be to his benefit.

I will gladly eat my words if by some miracle he sticks to his Michigan commitment.

So he's been committed to Houston, Baylor, and now Texas?  Wonder if he's gonna transfer to TCU, A&M, and North Texas at some point too.  May as well make the rounds.

yep, tough to pull kids out of texas when those state schools are in the race.

tcu, baylor and houston are all on the rise and present great opportunities for local kids.  and who knows where the aggies and horns end up over next few years but theyre still highly populated, reputable schools with strong programs, excellent facilities, texas weather and culture, etc.

coaching issues, recent records and all that aside, its still ut austin and thats a huge deal for most texas kids.  theres a reason mack brown could shift to autopilot yet still recruit at high level and turn out pro prospects.  and while i think patterson and briles are 2 of the sharpest coaches around (and now that group also includes herman), they also really benefit from recruiting that area.

dont know his situation but i cant blame elliott - guarantee playing in front of family and friends in austin would be tough to turn down.  similar to detroit kids passing on m / msu
