JJ, Donovan, Mullings, Hinton, Trente, Loveland, Morris, Semaj, Mason G, Kenneth Grant, D. Moore, Hausmann, Sabb, Will Johnson.

All guys that are coming back or should come back….JJ being the biggest question.  The team will lose a lot, but if this core of guys come back, I like our chances to at the very least challenge for the B1G championship again.  Reload, not rebuild!

From when Harbaugh was still active on Twitter.

Yep, it’s all an act.  Everything on ESPN is an act.

Finebaum was pretty gracious…

Finebaum was pretty gracious.  Finebaum is a chameleon who says what his overlords at ESPN tell him to, but he acted like a gentleman in this interview at least.  Sam did a great job, as always.

“It’s Gold, Jerry.  Gold!”

“That’s Gold, Jerry.  Gold!”

RIP Chandler, good sir.

Exactly right.  I am hopping…

Exactly right.  I am hopping college football fans all across America come to realize and really appreciate how big of a bitch Ryan Day is for hiring a PI firm to investigate his football rival over sign stealing.  Just be better at coaching, Mr 3rd base.  That’s what everyone else in his profession does.

OSU Insiders have been saying for weeks something bad was going to happen to Michigan, but no one else had that info.  Hmmm.  Ryan Day was/is in a pretty desperate job security situation as he knows his team is going to get waxed by his main rival for a third year in a row….there’s definitely motive there to make Michigan look bad.  Now he has a created an excuse and it seems the delusional OSU fan base is buying it.  At least in this moment in time.

Once all the leaks in this…

Once all the leaks in this orchestrated PR campaign have been allowed to do their maximum damage to Michigan, some in our sports news media will finally give themselves permission to ask questions about the PI and who paid for it.  This story kind of sets that stage.  Right now they are getting all the milage out of this Stalions story they can, but the next chapter of this media drama: Questions about OSU’s involvement are finally asked.  These story lines are going to drive incredible ratings for The Game.  It’s going to be very satisfying watching the maize and blue beat Ohio State’s ass for the third year in a row in front of an audience that large.  What will Born on Third do then?

Me too.  I believe like…

Me too.  I believe like Isaiah has said, things are going to look bad for a while, but once all the cards are on the table things won’t be as bad as the media has sensationalized it to be.

I wonder what Rece Davis’…

I wonder what Rece Davis’ sources at the NCAA are going to text him (about an open investigation) while they’re on the air today….

Somewhere between 42-27 and 45-23.

Yeah, Sam said pretty much…

Yeah, Sam said pretty much the same thing as the OP on his radio show.  If you want a lot more details, subscribe to 247.

I’m with you.  I hope the…

I’m with you.  I hope the computer they got their hands on doesn’t have shit on it.  I’m not optimistic about it though.  We probably have one over zealous staffer who’s trying to be a big shot and advance his career.  This isn’t some “vast network” of people like the narrative some people in sports media are pushing for clicks.  This is all so stupid.

I believe Stalions thought…

I believe Stalions thought he was clever and was doing an amazing job of skirting the rules.  From all the paper trails he’s left behind so far, I’m sure there’s lots of damning game video on that laptop.  He didn’t think he needed to hide anything because he honestly didn’t think he was technically breaking any rules.  Just my hunch.

Nah, they addressed this…

Nah, they addressed this before any big games were played.  It would be the lamest move of all time for Michigan to go out and win a championship and then take it away from them….after the alleged bad actor (Stalions) was removed from the sidelines.  Either they move ahead quickly and try to disqualify Michigan before the CFP (highly unlikely) or they just let this season stand as is.  We are talking about the NCAA, but I think they’ll go after Harbaugh and Michigan in other ways.

I think Brian is right. …

I think Brian is right.  Probably a show-cause for Stalions, a hefty fine, and probation…..but I don’t think wins and championships will be vacated.  It is the NCAA, but I think they’ll move to punish in other ways.  I would add lengthy suspension for Harbaugh to the list of penalties, but I believe he’ll be long gone to the NFL before this all gets sorted out.  I really do think the ultimate goal of all this is to get rid of Harbaugh and not necessarily to over penalize the players and institution.

An honest assessment of the situation by Finebaum.  It was shocking, but refreshing to see to see him call this out for what it essentially is.  Piling on by a petulant institution.

Speaking of trash, did…

Speaking of trash, did anyone see the Pat Forde piece this morning?  Please don’t give him clicks, but it’s a prime example of why so many people hate the news media.  He runs with the narrative that Michigan is guilty of one of the most heinous NCAA violations ever….and that all the success of the past three years is most definitely tarnished.  Hardly any real facts have come out and Forde and the rest of the media have totally sensationalized this thing.  With their axe to grind, the NCAA was counting on them doing just that…..The media is carrying the NCAA’s water here. The media does this shit for clicks and their own bottom line….and when this turns out to be a big nothing burger…don’t expect any apologies for all the false narratives that were spread.  The current format of sports media, and the news media in general, is really unhealthy for all of us.

This game should not be…

This game should not be played at night, but unfortunately TV money trumps everything with game scheduling.  Get the W and get out of there healthy, boys!  Much bigger things ahead!

OSU weak AF.

OSU weak AF.

The running game will…

The running game will improve some when the o-line starters get settled.  This offense (and the team as a whole) has all the tools.  Stay reasonably healthy and the sky is the limit for this group.

Oh, the direction is clear……

Oh, the direction is clear….the direction is a downward spiral.  Best #52 recruiting class money can buy right there.  Yeah, you hate to see it….

Imagine that….college…

Imagine that….coaches at a major university knew what they were talking about.  Kids, if the Michigan staff thinks you’d be best served by trying a new position, just listen to them.

On the surface this appears…

On the surface this appears to be a really weak move by our illustrious AD.  The only way he redeems himself from this is if Jim Harbaugh signs a huge, long-term contract in the very near future and this NCAA garbage totally goes away.  With all the BS going on in college football, we are going to keep talking about this?  F the NCAA.

Hausmann and Henderson are…

Hausmann and Henderson are the two transfer newcomers I’m most excited about at this point.

Freshman most interested to see hit the field right now:

Offense: Hall, Cabana, Moore

Defense: Hillman, J. Hill, Hewlett (My freshman dark horse surprise contributor.)

(Coincidentally a lot of H last names in my favorites.)

Flowers made an honest…

Flowers made an honest mistake. Then he sincerely apologized. That’s what grown ass adults do.  Grown ass adults also learn to accept apologies and move on.  This should be the end of it.  No cancel culture rage needed.

Point taken, depending on…

Point taken, depending on the watch, it could actually be a decent investment.

I personally would never…

I personally would never spend that kind of money on a watch.  However, if he’s making millions of dollars and being smart with the vast majority of it, then I’m totally on board with spending money on something he really likes and enjoys.  If he’s making that kind of money and is being smart with most of it, $93k is a relatively small chunk of his personal financial world.  Now if he’s not being smart and just buying lots of frivolous, high dollar items with no financial plan, then you are right…..he would be mismanaging his money….badly.

$93k for a watch is not a…

$93k for a watch is not a big deal for Caris if he’s managing all his money well.  After all the cautionary tales of some former pro athletes being broke at the end of their careers, I’d like to think a lot more pro athletes these days are smarter with their money.  If you are not good with money, $93k for an item like a watch is a fast way to go broke.  However, Caris is a Michigan Man….so I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he’s managing his finances well.  So, more power to him for buying something he wanted.  I hope this situation resolves itself.

With Lowe’s commitment,…

With Lowe’s commitment, Michigan has pretty much wrapped up all the absolute needs of this class.   From here on out I’d say the staff will only swing for truly elite rated guys down the stretch to finish this ‘24 class.  Have a great season on the field, recruit a few big fish to finish a really good 2024 class, and already have an early jump start on the 2025 class.  Plus, there is always the transfer portal to fill any roster holes.  Recruiting is going just fine.

Michigan has throttled an…

Michigan has throttled an OSU team with a roster filled with 4 and 5 star guys the last two years.  This is the best roster Harbaugh’s ever had as a college coach….of course they have the talent to win it all this season.

I agree with some of that. …

I agree with a lot of that.  However, pretty much all civilizations have some sort history of oppression.  America has done a way better job than most of dealing with its demons.  The problem I have is the simplistic-minded trashing of our country that seems to lack any kind of historical perspective.

The 1st amendment is an amazing thing isn’t it?

America, while not perfect,…

America, while not perfect, is worth celebrating.  Our founding is one of the most miraculous events in all of human history.  Again, while not perfect, our founding documents have allowed us to move toward a more perfect union.  Just felt like saying that since the OP took the opportunity to trash the country.  Also, it’s a free country…..if you don’t like the idea of this park….don’t go.

Full disclosure: I live in…

Full disclosure: I live in the Knoxville area.  (I live down the road from Phil Fulmer, who hired Pruitt.)   I am a casual UT fan, but definitely not a diehard.  From what I’ve observed, the university fully cooperated with the NCAA and tried to be as transparent and forthright as possible in a bad situation.  Pruitt’s hiring was a mistake and the university moved swiftly against him and his staff when they were made aware of the violations.  In my opinion, they handled the situation appropriately and the NCAA still came down pretty hard on them, but not as hard as they would have if TN hadn’t fully cooperated.  As the ESPN article says, the NCAA is getting away from imposing bowl bans and is instead hitting schools with hefty fines and scholarship reductions, which they did to TN.  I’m not really here to defend the program….bc I simply don’t care enough about it.  Just some perspective from a diehard Michigan fan living in Tennessee.

National chain…definitely…

National chain…definitely Firehouse Subs.  Consistently delicious.

Yeah, it was painful to…

Yeah, it was painful to watch.  Embarrassing.  He never should been on Jeopardy.  I loved to watch him ball, but hearing him on ESPN I never thought he was very bright.  Now after watching that episode of Jeopardy….I KNOW he isn’t very bright.  He needs to stick to bball and bball only.

Totally agree.   Other than…

Totally agree.   Other than the actual games, College GameDay is the only thing I find worth watching on ESPN for more than 5 minutes.

If Michigan has another…

If Michigan has another really strong season on the field (as expected), they might land another big fish or two in this class that we aren’t expecting right now…and end up in the top 5 or 6.  As things stand right now, somewhere just inside the top 10 or 11 is more realistic.  Chiles was very much expected to be part of this class, so that hurts a lot.  However, there is a ton of talent and athletic upside in this class.  I’m not concerned at all about this class.  It’s going to be very good.

Good OP.  The 2024 class…

Good OP.  The 2024 class should finish between about 7 and 11 in the rankings.  Solid….and it’s going to be 95% wrapped up before fall camp begins, which lets the staff really turn its focus to the 2025 class on the trail.  That’s a very good thing.

Yeah, the Robinson…

Yeah, the Robinson recruitment has been weird.  I could be totally wrong, but he seems to really be holding out for that Suckeye “offer.”  Michigan has shown him everything they have to offer and recruited the kid hard, but still no commitment.  Now Kentucky seems to be where he’s leaning???  He might end up in the class after all, but with all the defensive line/edge recruits seriously interested in the joining the class, not sure Michigan is holding a spot for him at this point.  He’s been a top target and I think all Michigan fans who follow recruiting would love for him to join the class, but it’s like “what’s the hold up?!”

I typically don’t like to…

I typically don’t like to blame NIL for most recruiting outcomes, but when a struggling program suddenly grabs a bunch of highly rated guys (who were leaning elsewhere) in one weekend…..sure seems like the $$$ was a deciding factor for these prospects.

Yes, everyone thought Chiles…

Yes, everyone thought Chiles was coming to Michigan.  Since Sam is more connected than most and put in a crystal ball with a higher level of confidence than he ever does, it’ll just be interesting to hear what he finds out about how the situation suddenly changed.

It’ll be interesting to hear…

It’ll be interesting to hear what Sam Webb has to say about Chiles to Florida.  Webb had a crystal ball in for Chiles to Michigan with a confidence level of 7.  Almost all the crystal balls he puts in are a confidence level of 6, so he felt extra confident in this pick.  I guess keep recruiting the kid and see if Florida offered all these guys (who committed today) something they ultimately can’t deliver on…like they did with the QB kid they had last cycle.

Don’t forget TE U too.

Don’t forget TE U too.

Over sensitive much?  I…

Over sensitive much?  I swear some people just cruise the internet looking for ways to be offended.  Sorry you don’t like the term I used, but college football players are grown men and most of them are on scholarship…. and many are getting NIL and lots and lots other perks most students don’t get.  Let’s not pretend they are victims.  Colorado’s program has been horrible…saying “cleaning house” is probably one of the least offensive things anyone has said about them.  For better or worse Coach Prime is cleaning house at a program where the team culture and player effort has apparently been pretty awful….if someone saying that offends you, that’s too bad.

I can see cleaning house,…

I can see cleaning house, but what Sanders is doing is ridiculous.  Destroying your roster continuously is not the way to build a positive team culture.  Rosters can be overhauled very quickly in the age of the portal, but what Coach Prime is doing seems to be a bridge too far.

I think it’s a lock to be a…

I think it’s a lock to be a top 6 or 7 class.  Another really strong showing on the field again this season could boost this class into the top 4 or 5, which I think is Michigan’s recruiting ceiling right now.  Of course, win a national championship and that ceiling gets broken.
