Urban has lost control and does not know how to react.  He is a pathetic character at this point.  Just feebly trying to stay relevant and not a joke or characture of leaders who lose touch with reality.  Too late.  That press conference solidified him as a complete ass.

Bye, Felicia.

Oh man, you have to wonder if there's any portion of Buckeye Twitter that deep down is thinking:

"Damn, Urban. It's getting harder and harder to blindly follow you into this shit storm..."

I'm not saying that any would change their tune, or even stop making such BS comments. I'm just wondering if there's any introspection at all.

Urban just can't get out of his own way!

I think there might be some heart issues brewing.

Mr. Meyer and OSU should have heeded Canham's "never turn a one day scandal" advice.

Nothing Meyer EVER says will be thought of as true. His reputation is now that of a good football coach, but morally bankrupt. (Unless you live in Ohio and are a member of "Buckeye Nation").  It couldn't happen to a more deserving asshole.

Now can we PLEASE have Michigan kick OSUs ass for the next 10 years?

At no point in this entire affair, not once, has Urban done the right thing unprompted. Every single time his hands have been forced. Even for what should be the easiest part, apologizing to the battered woman before “Buckeye Nation”. Now this limp dicked unbelievable “apology” clearly written by some PR hack that he can’t even deliver himself, in person, but slips out Friday night on Twitter.

He clearly is incapable of shame, but any woman who lets her son play another snap for this pathetic excuse of a “leader” and a man should be ashamed.

It's not as entertaining releasing a statement (that somebody else wrote for him yet again) online when you can't listen to his angry Ben Stein voice reading every word with absolutely no sincerity like the other night.

We already knew who Urban was.  All this statement does is make the rest of OSU & Company look like a bunch of morons since it never once dawned on them that an apology to Courtney Smith should have been acknowledged instead of those countless apologies they gave to Buckeye nation...you know...the REAL victims.

Go home and rest from all your insincerity, Urban.  Have somebody drive you if your "memory problems" prevent you from remembering your home address.

Guys, go easy on him. His memory medication probably has side effects plus he may have been tired from working hard educating everyone on the seriousness of relationship violence. He may not have brought his A game to the press conference.

WTF is "relationship violence" ?  Urban is so f-ing twisted it is sick.  This guy is insane.  Seriously he is not all there and just keeps digging a deeper hole.

Urban you dumb shit ... LOOK AGAIN AT THE F-ING PHOTO YOUR WIFE SHOWED YOU ... Zach physically abused his wife.  PERIOD.  NO EXCUSE.  URBAN MEYER AND ZACH SMITH ARE SLIME.

Learning experience? What did he learn other than sometimes you get caught red-handed being an asshole? Urban is such a transparent piece of trash, as are the bucknuts who support him.

Yeah, I almost think in the national media this would backfire.  Most of those outlets have skewered Meyer because he atleast could have done the right thing at this point and apologized to Courtney, but didn't.  Now, 2 days later, when he was calculating in between his memory lapses how the common sense public would take his speech the other night, he comes out and POSTS a scripted OSU PR department apology, because they all realized what a bullshit look that was the other night.  It's unbelievable how stupid Meyer and OSU think the general public is that we're unable to see through their shit. Him and Zach should really keep talking and keep this going, because the more they talk, the dumber this sounds.

Lick my hairy ass, Meyer.

Honestly, just come out and say all you care about is wins. Stop with the fucking charade. Honestly, if you came out and said what you were really thinking I’d have (slightly) more respect for you.

You’re a great coach, but you’re a fucking phony and everyone who doesn’t live within a 200 mile radius of Columbus knows it.

It wasn't Urban's fault - on Wednesday, he had one of his well known memory failures and forgot who Courtney Smith was, and therefore assumed she must be a well known member of Buckeye Nation.

I gotta believe.

Meyer's reputation is beyond redemption. In the short term, he keeps his job. But this will have consequences on the recruiting trail. There will be karmic retribution and it will be worse for both OSU and Meyer. If there isnt, my faith in humanity suffers yet another blow.

Hopefully, Harbaugh gets one more shot at him first. This is the team that breaks through.

For the first time I can say that Urban Meyer is good. Damaged goods, to be exact.

This can only drag on and them down.

What a pathetic joke of an apology, days late, not well-conceived and hollow-sounding in contrition.

He actually thinks that mouthing platitudes from the past that he never practices or respects and now promises to follow make up for a complete lack of honest expression in the moment.

I just find it amazing that the language of this statement in form and function is so similar to the one he issued after his remarks in Chicago that started this fiasco. And even then he lied about what he actually did in relation to following university protocol in that statement which was confirmed at the blunt trauma session on Wednesday night.

It was so Buckeye Nation that The Ohio State in investigating Ohio State decided not to fuck up the Ohio State football program by firing their coach. And of course the deplorables were pissed that their guy got any time off at all from running the program.

And so, the local media feels and expresses no shame in being lied to and accepting the lying word of the head coach as fact while seeing any statement clarifying his thoughts as tablet-worthy edification of honor and grace.

Meantime, the New York Times runs a front page story about the lying legend of Columbus who enabled an assistant for nearly 10 years allowing him to live a lie he never told his own school about from the outset, allegedly beating his wife and then claiming he offered the calming oversight and advice of seeking professional counsel. Turns out that never happened.

He actually repeated this as part of his post script remarks the other night, the story about him and Shelly coming forward to offer counsel to a young couple. And then Courtney Smith reported that she never talked to him. This guy touts bullshit and then wants humble credit when he offers an alleged apology for it.

Sorry, pal save your media relations plug for the deplorable losers who pay your salary. They'll believe anything.

This isn’t an apology for his actions. It’s no different that saying, “I'm sorry we're in this situation."

He’s still not saying I’m sorry I knew Zach was beating you back in 2009 and kept him on staff or I knew back in 2015 that he was beating you but continued to keep him on staff. He’s acting like he has no part in it. This is a black eye for OSU and the Big Ten. The conference needs to step in and suspend him for at least one season.

I firmly believe Urban should have been canned.  The evidence is in; he's a liar, an enabler, and certainly not in the corner of domestic abuse victims when he has to choose between a victim and his football program.  And I get the gnashing of teeth about this whole deal among the UM faithful.

Have any of you wondered, however, how UM fans, and especially the members of this blog site, would react if we found the Michigan football program facing similar allegations of wrongdoing?  What I'm getting at is how difficult it is to be objective when evaluating facts and evidence is tied up with something you desperately want to be successful, especially a sports team where we are all fans (short for "fanatics").  I think, for example, my first instinct would be to defend Harbaugh and company.

I like to think we would react in a similar fashion of condemning the program.  Of course there will be a loud minority, but they will be just that...the minority.

You accept responsibility, fix the problem, move forward.

OSU and their self serving liar of a coach have only done the move forward part...or at least attempting to move forward, hoping the rest of the country moves on to the next "scandal".

Fuck Meyer and OSU. I honestly think there is a real possibility that he "retires" again at the end of this season if the national media treats him like the lying scumbag he is.
