Congrats to Dan Campbell and the Lions! Serious question, though: Does Brad Holmes go heavy on defense in the next draft, or does Aaron Glenn need to be replaced?

The last time the Lions won their division:

• Bill Clinton had been president for less than a year.

• The #1 movie in theaters was Mrs. Doubtfire.

Friends was still 9.5 months way from their first episode.

• Charles Woodson just wrapped up his junior season in high school.

• OJ Simpson was nothing more than a beloved retired football player who was set to appear in the upcoming Naked Gun movie.

After watching this season, the NFC North is going to become a tougher division top to bottom.  Once MN and CHI figure out what they want to do at QB, things will get interesting.  CHI has stockpiled draft picks.

Christmas miracles --- they do occur!

Amazingly, the 30 year drought was not the longest in the NFL.  Cleveland last won a division title in 1989 (and that's still longer, even including the 3 years they didn't exist).

The Browns are still mathematically alive to win the AFC North: probably not, but they get it by going 2-0 and the Ravens going 1-2 (or worse) the rest of the way.

I always wonder who has the worst franchise the last 4-5 decades.

On one hand Cleveland has won playoff games and I believe in the Kosar era got to an AFC championship game or two.

Detroit has ONE - ONE playoff win.  Franchises like Carolina and Jacksonville who were expansion franchises have done more the past 3 decades.

On the other hand how devastating is it to see your franchise move to another city and THEN win a Super Bowl. And realistically be up there with the top 5 franchises in the past 15 years in terms of culture and above .500 football every year.

I remember the '57 NFL Championship Game. Could we see the Lions finally win a Superbowl in a repeat matchup this season against the Browns...the two saddest sack franchises in history? I'm rooting for it.

Giants fan here, but congrats to all you Lions fans on here. One of my best friends is a Lions fan, and I have a ton of respect for you all. I know how long ya'll have stuck with this team through some not-so-fun times. Hope all of you are enjoying this!
