Many people had knee-jerk reactions last night and thought that Michigan just rolled over. I thought there had to be new information coming out for Santa Ono who wrote a go fuck yourself letter to the Big Ten to change his mind.

It's come from the top here as well... this entire situation has been called BS and a persecution from the jump, and every revelation seems to bring the fact that Michigan broke rules and got caught more into focus.

It sucks, and hopefully it doesn't cost them a chance at a B1G and CFP title.

Remember two days ago when some poor plain-spoken poster named Hab got dozens of negs for saying there was more to come? Of COURSE Stalions was GIVING THE DATA TO SOMEONE.

The irony for me has been how we say Michigan's special, then exhibit the same numb nuts knee-jerk behavior that we laugh about from other fan bases.

With this news, it seems much likelier that Harbaugh's taking the bullet in hopes of--or with a deal--that this will help forestall additional penalties.

Could not agree more. And with Michigan sports “journalists” egging us on. Have you heard the latest MGoBlog podcast with its frothing outrage over how we’ve been victimized? I couldn’t listen to more than a few minutes. I want to think we wouldn’t have defended JoePa if Jerry Sandusky was a Michigan coach, but this whole thing has me feeling pretty certain we would’ve done the exact same things we despised from Penn St fans.

Your assumption that your knowledge is so great that it deserves to be considered "OF COURSE" is unfounded.  The "someone" that Stalions was "GIVING... TO SOMEONE" were the offensive and defensive coordinators.  The LB coach has nothing to do with play calling and couldn't have used the info.

Was Partridge aware that his "buddy" Stalions was collecting data on opponents' signs?  That seems likely.  But he wouldn't be using the data.

His job was decoding signs.  Absolutely nobody is disputing that.  That's not against the rules.

Since OSU and Rutgers were apparently able to decode Michigan's signs from a combination of TV, All-22, and maybe the scoreboard during the game, there was absolutely no reason to be suspicious that Stalions was doing the same thing.

Given that the investigation remains open, maybe folks should also hold off on the knee-jerk reactions assuming that Partridge was involved. I don't see any actual information suggesting that, just speculation.

Edit: New reporting confirms that there's no evidence of a connection, but he wasn't cooperating with the investigation.

They found some of Stalions' videos on Partridge's computer? Who knows? But it seems very unlikely absolutely nobody else on the staff knew what Stalions was doing. Or helped him decipher the signs contained on his videos.
