They are really trying to become the Evil Empire of the North.  I have to give them credit.  They are winning the offseason at this point.

They still can only play one QB at a time. Doesn't make much sense to me. If this fails to bring in a championship, I have to think recruits are going to hesitate to sign for OSU in future because they will know the roster that they sign on to be a part of will likely be much different by the time they arrive. I know i'd be pissed if I had a cach selling me early playing time and before I even got to campus he brought in three transfers at my position.

Hilarious UM can't recruit a single QB of this level even if 3 classes apart due to scared of competition and osu can put 2 in a class and they arent scared

Definitely not competition based. Playing in a conservative, low-QB-reliance offense combined with no guaranteed money is not as attractive as guaranteed money even if you suck/don't play at all with the opportunity to throw 50 times a game to endless 5 star receivers. Michigan will never be an attractive option to QBs and WRs with this current approach, but they SHOULD be for olinemen and RBs. They clearly are happy to grab some OL they like from other schools, but haven't felt the need to recruit transfer RBs. Can't complain about the approach yet: 15-0, better than every team in the country, even teams 10x more talented than us

No random top 5 DE, DT, LB, or secondary players. How are top 20 players at each position group not even randomly signing with us? Its strange.

Winning this year was a perfect combination of age, development, and culture/leadership.

Going forward winning will be like if you were the Lions and Green Bay, Buffalo, and the 49ers split the first round by themselves and you got to draft rounds 2+ only. Its going to be a tough decade recruiting like this. Ill enjoy this championship and hope Moore helps us compete with Santa's help.

We either have below average recruiters or GARBAGE tier NIL…or both.

You can’t have the on-field success we’ve had the past three years, award winning o-lines and record setting dominant running backs and yet STILL utterly fail to capitalize even slightly on all of that success in recruiting without one or both of those being true. Our head coach trying to dip out every off-season doesn’t help either.

Agreed Bama recruited on promises, then wins, then everyone said "they dont need to cheat now because they win".

Fuck we cant even be Bama lite? Coaches may develop THEIR third rated recruit on their board by why arent they getting their 1 or 2 almost ever? Johnson's last game will be a year from now. That is a helluva gap while youve been the second best overall team hands down for 36+ months.

I dont..but I could feel bad for OSU...hear me out, let's say they do win a national championship next year..it would never come close to ours..they are buying a team of kids who don't give a fuck about that university or the tradition..they barely know the OH chant...we watched our team grow from kids to men and overcome the heartache..our kids loved the university and chose it over any other...they will never feel that.

They’ve only brought in six transfers. One is a true freshman, who won’t even play and another was a freshman last year and most of his time in college will be at Ohio State. The majority of the money they spent was keeping their own players. It’s not like they are buying an entirely new roster. We brought in more transfers last year - nine.

This is their all in season. Unfortunately living in the bowels of OSU territory I get to hear too much about this stuff. My in-laws (brother and his father) have been constantly sending this stuff saying, “The run is over, OSU will be back on top” I sent back, “what happens when this doesn’t work because talent isn’t developed”. Both their responses are along the lines of, Day gets fired, staff is let go and they start over.

Honest as I can be this is wild to me. Our start over happened internally in ‘20 during the offseason the current players at that time all bought in, recruits that were committed bought in, heck even Harbaugh to an extent bought himself back in with the contract re-work and staff changes. This just feels like OSU is responding by firing the money cannon until nothing is left. I guess we will find out over the course of the next 10 months if there is any real commitment from them. Especially since all these big time signings are skill guys… I don’t think that is where they are lacking in my opinion.

Of course none of this has to do with inducements. All of these recruits just think Ohio State is the shit now after losing to Michigan again one year after they chose different schools.

SEC culture to be sure..

Best team money can buy.  (Edit, Heptarch beat me to it).

I don’t think it’ll work, and I love that this will define them.

It isn’t as if Alabama replaced Saban with Tucker or some total loser, but its players sure are bailing on the new regime.  And a lot are heading to Columbus.  Would really like to know what is behind that movement, cash or something else.

They already did this with Ewers, Jameson Williams, etc. From OSU's perspective, they're putting in more bullets in the chamber with hopes somebody will pan out. From the player's perspective, you're getting massive amounts of money with the reassurance you can go play somewhere else if you don't win the job. Is it the most economical strategy for OSU? No. Is is the most effective strategy for OSU? No. Is it the most Ryan Day thing ever? Yes.
