You can't mention Bamba without saying that, just like Jaylen Brown, HE HAD TO CALL MICHIGAN TO INITIATE INTEREST!!!!!!!

Fucking Beilein, man. Most milquetoast recruiter in the nation. He's getting what he deserves with these archaic philosophies.

I think you can appreciate what Beilein has done for Michigan and still question the direction of the program.

Izzo gonna retire after this year so he's going to bend every recruiting rule he has to to assemble a stacked roster.

The turd didn't have the nuts to retire after his team's embarrassing exit this past season.

i hate izzo.

and honestly, i hate the personalities of many "top" bball coaches. they are dicks who yell and scream at refs until they get the calls.

when i start caring about bball in college is when they make it illegal for the coaches to talk to the refs during the game - what an improvement that would be.

Yep. Lots of butthurt in this thread. I knew I shouldn't have read through the comments. I will just add one piece to this conversation. Injuries and early NBA draft talent depleted the lineup the past two years. No, we will not get multiple 5* recruits every year. But when your best players are hurt, it's hard to be more than a "bubble" team even with a more MSU recruiting talent. If the two deep tournament runs were five years ago, this "butthurt" crap would be more understandable and arguable. In fact, I'd probably be joining the party. It's only been two years though guys. TWO years. With obvious major injuries and departures. That is all I need to say. You guys need to chill out a bit. But why keep arguing this. Feels pointless. These threads will continue.

Because the trajectory is obvious and disturbing. Beilein's recruiting got worse as the program's sales pitch got better. We had Levert for the nonconference porton of the last two seasons and we looked bad so don't try to sell that bridge.

What the hell are you even talking about? Lack of recruiting sparkle is yet to actually hurt MSU football. It has already hurt Michigan basketball and brought the program momentum down in record time.

But this isn't a football thread so you're bad and should feel bad.

I love Belien and I've been adamant about defending him on here. When his contract was extended everyone celebrated. Now those same people are acting like his accomplishments were shit. I'm not saying he's God. But God damn. Belien will either take Michigan back to expectations or not and be replaced eventually. But to belittle what he's done in the meantime is fucking bullshit.

tired of JB not recruiting one-and-dones as an excuse as to why UM is missing out. he can't that's why. he loses recruiting battles with mid majors. ignores defense. man it is frustrating. will sparty hang a hundred at bres or beat um by 30 at home.

Michigan State finished with a 29-6 record this past season with a Big Ten Tournament Championship earning a consensus Top-5 ranking at season end. They were undefeated throughout the first half of the college basketball season holding the number one ranking after tearing through a brutal schedule with primetime victories over multiple big-name programs such as Kansas and Louisville prior to solidifying their future with an elite recruiting class featuring two McDonald's All-Americans and a Jordan Brand Classic All-American.

If you consider that a year of not doing "shit," I'm very curious to know what you would consider a year of actually doing "shit."

...I don't see why this is cause for such alarm. Izzo is going to land good players. I don't remember anyone pegging this guy for Michigan. There are still good players on the board. And Michigan has already landed some good players.
