And if we are talking Blazing Saddles, I watched it a couple of months ago after a million years and boy, was it ahead of its time, and still feels relevant and not at all dated in its social commentary.

And on top of its brilliance, the film is a gold mine of one-liners. I swear this happened just yesterday:

The MGoGirlfriend was slightly concerned about a tremor she thought she saw in my right hand. (I had been doing some chores around the house, and the muscles in my hand were simply tired, but she worries.) So she made me hold out my right hand, and I did. There was no tremor.

See? I said - steady as a rock. And she grudgingly admitted I was right.

Of course, I then raised my left hand, shook it violently, and replied: "Yeah, but I shoot with this one."

She almost spit out her beer laughing. Thank you, Waco Kid.

I always loved Olson Johnson's "Now who can argue with that?" after Gabby's unintelligible "bushwackin' hornswogglin" croakercroaker" speech.

Aside: It was only a few years ago that I learned that "Olson Johnson" was a takeoff of Olsen & Johnson, a long-time comedy duo whose careers spanned from vaudeville to the early days of TV. They were most famous for the Broadway hit "Hellzapoppin" in 1938.

Mel Brooks went waaay back for that reference.
