First casualty.  I’ll be interested to see what the Athletic Department does. Hopefully this is a blip but hard to tell since the entire defensive staff is gone and the head coach.

I’m not a Mayor and have no constituency…Neither am I spoiled and this has nothing to do with on the field performance. His legacy of a champ is tarnished by his scorched earth campaign to sabotage his handpicked successor. I do remember those years vividly.

Reality that they will lose some guys. We knew this the moment Harbaugh left.  Moore is clearly fine with risking losing guys as he passed up naming Clink or Elston for DC.

Let’s see who he names as DL, LB, and CB.Potential CB coach might be a very popular hire from what I hear.

We know Sherrone is stressing recruiting.

It’s not surprising that some recruits who chose Michigan before all the turnover might change their minds now. It’s not necessarily a reflection on Moore, especially since it seems this kid was recruited to play defense and everyone on that side is gone, along with Harbaugh and Herbert. Maybe there will be other recruits who’ll make a better connection with Moore? The only thing certain is that over time, Moore will succeed or fail on his own merits.

Yeah, not a big surprise.  I figure a guy who committed to a staff that no longer exists is likely to go outside.  It sucks, but credit to UM not pulling an Alabama and making these decisions during the transfer window and not sticking a guy until he can't leave as easily.

Good thing is that we waited until all the transfers and recruits were off the board to make any meaningful changes or get any positive impact from the change. Feels like Michigan insists annually on not capitalizing on momentum

Has there ever been any national title winning team that entered its offseason with literally no wind in its sails? because that is what’s happening to Michigan right now.

Honestly with the kind of deflated momentum around the program right now you’d think we just went 7-5.

“Has there ever been any national title winning team that entered its offseason with literally no wind in its sails?”

Probably has something to do with the fact that there’s only been one other time since as far back as 1947–and possibly farther back—that a head coach who has won a national championship has immediately left to coach another team. In the modern era, it’s virtually unprecedented.

I’d say get the staff in place and work quickly on re-recruiting him. If it’s the same style of play he was coming to play for in the first place then he may come back in the fold. It’ll depend on how long it takes to get the staff in place, especially the linebackers coach

Since he wants out I say...who?

Not into pushing ropes. That said our AD must get it's competitive position together on the parameters that matter in this realm.
