Jack Tuttle looking to get a 7th year of eligibility
This is an article from yesterday, but I did not see it posted.
He also said he’d like one more year of college football with the Wolverines.
It’s not out of the question. Tuttle did not play as a true freshman; the 2020 season did not count against any player’s eligibility; and he only appeared in one game in 2022 before getting hurt.
Alan Bowman, a Michigan quarterback in 2021 and 2022, recently announced his waiver for a seventh year was granted. Tuttle said he planned to apply for an additional year.
Tuttle confirmed in Houston that he could play another season. “It depends,” he said with a big smile. “We’ll see what happens. I think I’ll have the opportunity to. It’s still in process. I’m enjoying this moment right now.”
I'd be A-OK with Tuttle coming back, and I think it would alleviate to get a QB from the portal (unless a can't-miss starter becomes available). He was JJ's primary backup for a reason. He could be a primate candidate for the Day 1 starter while Jayden Davis gets up to speed.

*alleviate the need to get a QB from the portal
*prime candidate
Oy.

No need. He turned himself in.

RGard will be disappointed.
January 19th, 2024 at 11:15 AM ^
The best primate candidate out there, obviously.
January 19th, 2024 at 11:45 AM ^
We need to stick with primates at every position. Air Bud was fake news.
January 19th, 2024 at 11:00 AM ^
No. We don't. With Tuttle, Orji, Denegal, we're good. Keep the culture. It's a risk to bring a new guy in.
January 19th, 2024 at 11:52 AM ^
How would brining in a transfer risk the culture? We've brought in a bunch of transfers in the past couple years. Tuttle is a transfer even.
January 19th, 2024 at 1:49 PM ^
Not at QB. The QB is the leader. It can cause dissent when guys busting their ass in program have to sit.
January 19th, 2024 at 7:58 PM ^
We’d be in a pickle.
January 19th, 2024 at 11:13 AM ^
This sentence needs diagrammed.

I mean he's not wrong, we are all primates.

Statutory Ape.

Hey, welcome back. You stickin' around?
FREE DENNIS!!!
January 19th, 2024 at 10:25 AM ^
Seems like if Miami can have a 9th year TE, we can have a 7th year QB.
It’s all hands on deck for a QB for next year, so I’m excited to have him back.
January 19th, 2024 at 10:41 AM ^
It feels like we are nearing NCAA salaries and pensions.
January 19th, 2024 at 10:25 AM ^
A primate candidate? Tuttle has been in the program for a year. He knows the playbook and wouldn't be monkeying around.
January 19th, 2024 at 10:29 AM ^
Almost human, one could say.
In seriousness, it would be great to have him back. Solid backup and calming presence.
January 19th, 2024 at 10:42 AM ^
And a great delouser!
January 19th, 2024 at 10:26 AM ^
I'd love to have Tuttle back. Certainly would elevate the floor of the QB room next year. I'd bet he's at least as good as 2021 Cade so we can win with that
January 19th, 2024 at 10:43 AM ^
Somehow 2021 Cade was my first thought as well. Then I remembered Tuttle's run to the right side and he had some of JJs mobility too. Worth giving him a turn. I think 2024 will be so much fun. No more unwordly pressure. Just go out there and see who can do the best at any given position.
January 19th, 2024 at 1:51 PM ^
I think people are sleeping on both Orji and Denegal.
January 19th, 2024 at 2:44 PM ^
In spot duty Orji looked good but he needs more reps. It looked like he was so excited to be in there that he just wanted to take off running, which worked great on the first play. The second play in both games looked like the jet sweep might have been the better option.
January 19th, 2024 at 11:13 AM ^
With how the D is shaping up on paper (pending coaching carousel), elevating the floor at QB is a big deal. A 2021 Cade would do just fine here
January 19th, 2024 at 11:40 AM ^
Yep, If we get play equivalent to 2021 Cade -- I think Tuttle is a bit better, but anyway -- then we can contend.
January 19th, 2024 at 10:29 AM ^
Always thought of him more as a reptile candidate because his name reminds me of Turtle.
January 19th, 2024 at 8:01 PM ^
I always think of DeNiro in Brazil. Probably my favorite role of his.
January 19th, 2024 at 10:31 AM ^
Totally on board with this. He looked great in the spring game and he's been in the system for a year and knows it now. As others have said, this elevates the floor.
January 19th, 2024 at 3:58 PM ^
He was QB2 before he was injured. Getting him back would be very reassuring for the offense.
January 19th, 2024 at 10:39 AM ^
Good for Jack!
That recent post that misinterpreted his tweet has aged quite poorly.
January 19th, 2024 at 10:41 AM ^
Would be a great thing if if he came back … despite the fascination with Orji he has yet to prove he can pass the ball consistently downfield!!! I understand that he may have not been given the chance so he may very well become a good passer … however having a totally new with great potential BUT nonetheless new OL , I would prefer a proven QB that has gotten a lot of in game reps like Tuttle !!!
January 19th, 2024 at 11:01 AM ^
He could be a primate candidate for the Day 1 starter
Yeah, but everybody knows that Michigan's NIL bag offers far fewer bananas than most other programs.
January 19th, 2024 at 1:15 PM ^
We need to get with the program. My cousin signed with Ohio...
January 19th, 2024 at 11:06 AM ^
while I'm eating my crow flakes this morning, thoughts on barner?
January 19th, 2024 at 11:36 AM ^
Pretty sure he declared.
January 19th, 2024 at 11:44 AM ^
Somewhere in here it says he's going to the NFL.
January 19th, 2024 at 11:07 AM ^
This would be really good. Of all the guys coming back, I'd be most comfortable with Tuttle being the starter. I think with our defense next year, and the offensive guys we have, we could win with Tuttle being somewhat of a game-manager guy. I don't think he's a difference maker like JJ. But his experience, poise, and leadership would be a big plus.
January 19th, 2024 at 11:08 AM ^
That would greatly alleviate the potential horror at QB next season. Seems he would give us a Rudock level of assured competence.
January 19th, 2024 at 11:09 AM ^
I doubt it will get approved. He played 5 games his freshman year with Berlin Polytechnic.
January 19th, 2024 at 11:16 AM ^
Didn't he go to medical school in Berlin?
Here's 2 1/2 minutes of MASH with "You sent Tuttle?"... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2zc97my_3s
