How far is Peters away from being ready

58 passing yards and several missed reads. I would like to think Peters could do this at a minimum. I get that Michigan can still make a run at the CFP with only 1 loss, but let's not try to fool ourselves into thinking they legitimately have a chance to run the table.

They somehow got a RS QB on the field that plays at at high level.

Lots of issues still;

- No QB

- Discipline .... too may penalties

- Special teams - Maybe coaching here.  Why kick to their threat w/4 mins to go?

Pretty sure that the only one around here that might possibly have an idea is umbig11.

In all seriousness though, barring catastrophe in the physical sense, I am doubtful you'd see Peters at any moment in the near future regardless. That just doesn't seem like a move Harbaugh would make merely for performance reasons, although performance lately has been....yeah....not good.

In a meritocracy, it's all about performance.  If Harbaugh meant what he said, then it all comes down to performance.

I guess we're all waiting for an insider to say exactly what it is Peters lacks.  The reports that he doesn't assert himself in the huddle seems a bit off.  With the way O'Korn is playing, has to be more than that.

at least a little next week. I think with the team being ahead in the second half today and the defense keeping Indiana at bay Harbaugh wasn't gonna put the inexperienced guy out there.

O'Korn probably starts again, but if he is ineffective early Peters will get a shot I think.

The honeymoon is officially over. It’s fucking pathetic that we can’t field a QB in year 3. Starting to think it’s more of a QB issue than Oline issue at this point as well

The coaches should pull Peters aside and tell him to be prepared for next week because O'Korn will be on a short leash.

Peters can absolutely at least match 10/20 for 2.6 yards per attempt 0 TD, and even if he only matches it, he's got the inside lane next for next year and already took a red shirt so let him get some starting reps.

To piggyback on the QB question, are college players allowed to wear headphones on the sidelines to obtain continuing coaching from those in the pressbox? I notice that O'Korn typically sits alone without anyone providing coaching or guidance when he is sitting off the field.

If allowed, would think that this would provide various teaching moments from the staff.

Another option is to have Drevno in the box and Hamilton in O'Korns ear on the sidelines when we don't have the ball.

Personally, I never was calling for O'Korn because we had seen good Speight before and had already seen O'Korn last year and because Speight is a good game manager, and at least until this year Speight was trusted to make good reads. His issue was simply accuracy, which you would hope he could fix on his own. Meanwhile, O'Korn is just a bad QB with just barely enough physical talents to let him see the field. If he can't do it now, he's not going to learn to read a defense and progress through his routes. He plays like a fairly talented freshman QB.

Now does that mean Peters should start? Not necessarily. But if it's that obvious to Harbaugh, that's still a pretty bad sign for our team and the position. So whether or not people are calling for Peters is not the issue. The issue is that we can't field a good QB in year 3 and it's killing us.

Well considering walker got one rush and gained 8 yards then never played again makes zero fucking sense so I am not sure why you think they would do anything to benefit the team at this point.

I am glad to see the RB rotation tightened up a bit towards the end. I hope Higdon gets the majority of the work moving forward, W/ Issac and Walker splitting the rest.

I think it would be interesting to see what Evans could do in the slot opposite Perry.  Especially with the O line issues and accuracy issues throwing downfield if tiem is given.

Damn 58? I didn't even think it was that bad. We need a change ASAP. Their freshman QB outperformed our senior who is supposedly better than Peters. It's hard for me to believe their RS fresh is better than ours, but if that really is the case then Peters is a flop.

What ever confidence o'korn had is now long gone. But I still don't see jimmy giving the rock to peters. This team is unraveling even with this win.

until he's a lovely golden brown. Then he'll be perfect.

I am starting to worry a bit that Harbs is starting to channel his inner General George McClellan and would rather keep doing marching drills with his young 'uns instead of just putting them out there in the field to learn under fire. I've been defending JOK all week but I'm ready for Peters. We're going 8-4, 9-3 at best, let's get the kid ready so his first game isn't in prime time in South Bend next September.

It’s pretty obvious it’s on the coaching right now, I hate to say it but if Peters can’t play better then okorn did today then Michigan’s offensive staff is garbage and Harbaugh is not a qb whisperer
