Hello: Nick Eubanks (TE)

Per himself on twiter.

Composite #15 TE with Big Time offers including Bama (visited 1/15), Florida, LSU, UGA, and a bunch of other top programs.

Scout is the one outlier in his rankings, listing him as the #29 TE/3*.
Rivals = #9 TE/4*
247 = #11 TE/4*
ESPN lists him at a position that other services dont have (TE-H #2) but overall #258/4*.

Per Lorenz, "He said Alabama led prior to his visit. He's no longer planning to officially visit Florida this weekend.

"I chose Michigan because it's a better fit for me," Eubanks said. "I can play right away as a true freshman. It's best for my future and for my work ethic. Plus coach Harbaugh coached Vernon Davis so I know he knows how to use the tight end. Michigan showed me stuff I've never seen before. Not at Florida or at Alabama. How they throw the ball to their tight end. How they flex the tight end out and use the position as a hybrid. No other school I was considering does that. That shocked me and shook my mind."

Eubanks > Allen ???

Offer sheet certainly seems to suggest so.

Kid has offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, USC, and Texas among others.

It'll be another one of those comparisons people will make for a long time...

...the writing has to be on the wall, but that said, this has been the weirdest recruiting season in a looooong long time. So let's hold off before making it 100%. I mean we won't have to wait long to find out. 247Sports is leaning towards Iowa St.

Get ready for the ISU trolls when he pulls out all 3 hats and it's he picks ISU over Michigan AND Nebraska!

Magnus has Allen ahead of Eubanks on a piece he wrote yesterday.   He had Allen as #3 and Eubanks as #5 on his list of 5 TEs.  Asiasi #1.

Like Reese vs Bush it will be one to compare down the road.

This is what he wrote about Eubanks - so I assume his TTB score is going to not be so hot

5. Nick Eubanks – TE – Plantation (FL) American Heritage:
Eubanks is a 6’5″, 215 lb. prospect who spends a lot of time split out wide for his high school team. He has pretty good straight-line speed and fair athleticism, but I do not see a great deal of positives. He gets mixed up in a lot of extracurricular activities, and he does not finish plays as a blocker. While he is listed at 6’6″, 230 lbs. in some places, I do not believe he is that tall or heavy unless he hit a major growth spurt after his senior season. He also catches the ball with his body and does not run crisp routes.

Yes who knows.  I am of mind once you get past the Gary / Peppers level players everyone else is a crapshoot.  Everyone looks good to great on their tape - get them on campus, see how they do after getting punched in the mouth by people as big or bigger then them, see how they react, see how they work, and we'll check back down the road.

One point in Eubanks favor is apparently he only played 2  years of football so that could be why he looks raw to a guy like Magnus.  Same with some of the defensive guys we got in the past week.  So that could bode to some nice ceiling down the road as these are guys who just havent played much football.
