Hello: Nick Eubanks (TE)

Submitted by Indonacious on
Per himself on twiter.

Composite #15 TE with Big Time offers including Bama (visited 1/15), Florida, LSU, UGA, and a bunch of other top programs.

Scout is the one outlier in his rankings, listing him as the #29 TE/3*.
Rivals = #9 TE/4*
247 = #11 TE/4*
ESPN lists him at a position that other services dont have (TE-H #2) but overall #258/4*.

Per Lorenz, "He said Alabama led prior to his visit. He's no longer planning to officially visit Florida this weekend.

"I chose Michigan because it's a better fit for me," Eubanks said. "I can play right away as a true freshman. It's best for my future and for my work ethic. Plus coach Harbaugh coached Vernon Davis so I know he knows how to use the tight end. Michigan showed me stuff I've never seen before. Not at Florida or at Alabama. How they throw the ball to their tight end. How they flex the tight end out and use the position as a hybrid. No other school I was considering does that. That shocked me and shook my mind."

Great pickup...but there is an epic Twitter fight going on right now between Michigan/OSU. It involves a current commit and 2 current players. With the Michigan commit offering one of the most epic clapbacks off all time!

I don't remember MGoFans being so critical of commits in past years.  We used to be pretty psyched for even fairly pedestrian-seeming 3*.  Given that, the relative lack of enthusiasm here is pretty surprising.

A couple weeks ago I made a "bold prediction" to a buddy that at least one player in the class would be someone we hadn't yet heard of at all. Seems like Eubanks is that player

Big get! TE-U!

I love the fact we're getting all these big commits from national high school powers from all over the country. (American Hertiage FL, Gilman MD, Prattville AL, Cass Tech MI, etc.) It really puts us even more on the map for future high profile prospects.

Even without Durkin, the dominence in south Florida has been surprisingly awesome.

Amazing. There's some sad shit (for FL) happening over at the Florida 247 board. They're totally scared shitless of us and comparing Harbaugh to Meyer and Saban in terms of recruiting prowess. As much as I feel for the fans, it's sort of amazing to watch people just sit in awe. What a difference a year can make.

Hell Yeah!   A tight end that is clearly intelligent since he picked this offense.   I hope everyone of these underrated TE's become stars and all the idiot 5 star TE's that picked Urban over HArbaugh fail.

Pretend I added "5 star" up in my reply, whoops.

Well the headliner is Hausmann, who has pretty good mobility and is an above average pass catcher, as he showed at the Opening. He seems like more of a college ready blocker than Farrell, who is a bit taller and may be an option to stretch the field more. It remains to be seen if Kierre Hawkins will line up as a very athletic tight end or a possession WR.

The depth between true freshman, redshirt freshman and true sophomores is very strong for next season, so depending on who, if anyone, breaks out, we may see some guys flipping positions.

Huge and out of the Blue. I thought for sure he was Fla all the way. Sorry for all the people who are going to neg me to death, but I would rather have him than Nauta. This guy is going to be a beast. Welcome!!!
