Earlier this year he was rated over .95 on the 247 composite.  I don't know enough about recruiting to understand why it's so much lower now, but I also don't give a fuck.

That isn't actually true, he is only a 3 star and 466 in the country according to the 247 ranking. Espn actually is the only one with him as a 4 star and ranks him the highest. He definitely seems to be going the wrong way in the rankings and the fact that he is getting squeezed out of other classes due to size doesn't make it sound like he is a priority to other staffs.

But regardless, hope he proves to be a guy who slipped through the cracks and ends up killing it here. Welcome aboard.

For pointing out a factually wrong statement and then saying I hope he outperforms his rankings? Way too many people think being realistic is being miserable. I think it is the exact opposite, having a reasonable view of things and expectations leaves significantly less frustrated when Michigan football is exactly what all available evidence say it is, a 10-15 program that happens to be rivals with a top 4 program.

I don't expect every lower rated recruit to be a hidden gem because of trust the coaches or they know more than the sites or whatever other bullshit people use to justify solid but not elite recruiting but love when a guy does exceeds expectations.

Word on the street is a cornerback is close to committing as well. Honestly that would make this class a lot better, especially if they get DGW as well. A DT would be nice, but I would honestly rather them find an OK veteran in the portal. Michigan could use a seasoned guy to help bring along Mazi. Another DT recruit in this class isn’t as big as most think. They do need to find one in the portal though and get an elite DT next class.

The next SAM - direct Uche replacement.  Hope he can enroll early to get in the strength program and take spring reps.
