Hate Week (1000 things you hate about Ohio State)

Submitted by ThadMattasagoblin on November 21st, 2023 at 2:44 AM

I'll start.

1. Ryan Day's PI Firm

2. Big Nut

3. The Big Ten changing the rules to allow them to go to the Big Ten Championship Game in 2020

4. The NCAA allowing them to have two coaching staffs at the same time when Urban Meyer was hired.

5. Stealing our signs and sharing them with Purdue

- how they have royally cheated all these years and act like they're the ones aggrieved.

- how annoying their fans are.

- how soft and weasley and phony their HC is.

That's just off the top of my head.

I’ve met Big Nut, and he’s a pretty good dude, actually.

But generally speaking their fan base is abhorrent. One season I drove all around the country going to games and everyone named them as their least favorite fans. My hatred for them boiled over at the end of the 2016 game. Seeing them guffaw in response to a stolen victory…

I have greatly enjoyed the schadenfreude experience from the last two years. They got what was coming to them. I really hope we can see some more this year.

And beyond all that, same as what Darker Blue said above.

My issue with Big Nut is that he showed up at a Wounded Warrior/Amputee event that was thrown by a local organization a few years ago.  Initially I thought, "Man, that's really cool of him to make an appearance to help raise money for a good cause."  I had a hard time hating the buckeyes that day.  I found out a day or so later that he only showed up once his appearance fee was paid.  In reading the article, it appears that he donates the money to scholarship funds. That's admirable if you're showing up at a pep rally or tailgate. I didn't agree with him accepting money from one charity to fund his own.

I don't really hate them anymore, tbh. They're pathetic and I don't have time in my life to hate them.

The rivalry isn't fun anymore. Just a little bitch crying to his conference so he can keep his job. College football, along with everything else in our culture, is being poisoned by ragebait and WWE-like ego bs.

I liked the strategy of football. Success stories of immigrant players like Ojabo. I hoped NIL would improve the game, and it has for players in a way, but now in our bankrupt culture you can defame anyone based on nothing. There's a lot of ppl advocating for Michigan for sure, but there are still very few people concerned about how all this bullshit affects the players. They didn't sign up for media narratives and nonsense. They came to play ball.

The fun is being sucked out of college sports.

Sadly, the more people try to make it about the players, the less it becomes so.

I think the sport was better when it was mostly an amateur contest rather than so heavily championship & NFL-focused and there was no social media - you just talked with your friends about the games the next Monday at school.

It gets less fun every year. My former best friend who took me to my first game during our first year together at Michigan no longer lives in the US, so it's been lonely following them the past few years.

Also, seeing Jim who I view as a beacon of integrity and who throws into sharp relief the ethical desert we live in, having his name dragged through the mud is intolerable.

Like I said in a previous post, I'll always support my guys in Maize and Blue from afar, but this is my last year closely following the sport.

Ryan Day is the biggest pussy I have ever witnessed in sports. Accuses everyone that beats him of cheating while knowing he cheats every chance he gets. Ryan Day is a fucking piece of shit. He's worse than Meyer at this point. At least Urban shows his true self. Cryan Ryan hides behind his self conscious "tough" persona.

Ryan Day is a candy ass bitch.

I usually don’t get too emotional about sports, but I hate Ryan Day. This whiny crybaby is the antithesis of a competitor, and the antithesis of the coach who beat his ass into the ground the last two years. A man would want to beat his opponent on the field. Instead, this pussy successfully removed his opponent from the field before having to face him. I’m not sure how he looks at himself in the mirror without being disgusted.

Harbaugh endured years of losing to OSU, sometimes in heart breaking fashion, other times in humiliating fashion. He faced that challenge like a man, overcame it by getting better, and in the end crushed them. Day lacks character. Harbaugh exudes it. As I said, I normally don’t get too emotional about sports, but I’ll be emotional on Saturday. I fear the team is diminished without Harbaugh on the sideline, because I think that’s what we’ve seen the last two weeks, but I hope the players and coaches can rise to the occasion Saturday, because a pussy like Ryan Day, who truly was born on third base, cannot be allowed to succeed by being a pussy.

There aren’t 1,000 things I hate about OSU. There’s just one: Ryan Day.

Perfectly said. Sadly enough, their fanbase has encapsulated the weak mindset put forth by Day. No loss to xichigan (why are these cowards so scared to use a single letter?), could be attributed to anything other than luck and cheating. OSU fans would LOVE a win without Harbaugh on the sidelines. I'm convinced they would prefer wins with multiple starters on each side of the ball out due to injury. These bitches want nothing but the easiest path to victory.

Fuck THE Overtly Soft University.

I can't think of anything that captures the difference between these coaches more than when Harbaugh said they were going to beat OSU or die trying.

He knew Michigan was down in the rivalry but instead of making excuses he challenged his team to give everything they had for a year to take down OSU - and it worked.

That's why I like our chances in this game. If OSU legitimately believes they lost the last two years because of the actions of anyone outside of their locker room, they're in for a rude awakening.

I have been following Michigan football since the mid 70's (yay I'm old).  It started looking at Woody and seeing what maniac A-hole he was (confirmed when he punched a player).  Then chuckled through the Bruce and Cooper eras....

Then the pompous weasel Tressel came in and Steinbrenner lured Henson away, my first real revelation that OSU will do anything to win... Then the Dark ages, stayed loyal...

Then the BS they pulled being allowed to "hiring" Urban months before the Fickell was let go.

Then JH came home, a brighter future was dawning upon us...  Pretty much instant elevation of the program only to get jerked over in the 2016 Game...

The media ass kissing of slim ball Urban and treating him like teflon for the next few years, yay he won and to the national media, that is all that mattered... Look the other way in the fact that he is a tyrant.  Look the other way as he has no morals.  Look the other way as he ran a program like the SEC (cheat, cheat, and cheat some more).  Only for him to get a headache and 'have to retire'.

Now Jim has raised Michigan to the top of college football, on the door step of being a national champion, and OSU brings its slim ball tactics to a new low, hiring an ego maniac that cannot possibly fathom that he is simply not a very good coach, beats up on lesser competition but when faced against top 15 teams... its a different story...

The media will point to his "Sterling 55-6 record", but lets pull away some of the onion layers...

Cryin Ryan is 7-4 against Top 15*** teams when on the road or neutral site, including 3-3 in his last 6 games..... and in his warped ego maniac mind, none of those losses are because he was out coached.... the other team must have cheated!!!!

I know one Buckeye maniac fan, moved up here from Ohio.  He openly admits 2 things: 1) OSU breaks every rule they can get away with and then pushes the limits even more... 2) He does not give a damn that they do, as long as they win... his motto, "if ya ain't cheatin...ya ain't tryin..."

What Cryin Ryan (and basically OSU) has done this year has taken everything to a completely new depths of slim...  I have never been so emotional about this Saturday...  For the benefit of all that is right and good in the football universe, Michigan needs to win...

This Saturday we will see Michigan rally and rise up to beat that very AVERAGE, JUST FOR MEN, CHARMIN SOFT head coach and team...

GO BLUE!!

*** For the record, Jim is 8-9 against top 15 teams over the same time span.  However 5-3 since 2021 and 2-0 at home.  Yes, I know Jim will not be on the sideline, but his team will be...

Michigan fan for 54 years. I live an hour from Columbus. The only good thing about that city is the zoo which isn't even in Columbus and the VA Medical center. Great staff. There are a lot of UM fans in my city. I have a guy I work with that hasn't talked to me for 2 years about the game. Prior to that he wouldn't shut up

Urban Meyer teaches ethics for Nuts.

Cardale didn't go there to do no school.

Justin Fields "I haven't made it there yet, but I've heard the campus is nice."

its a flat state with brown water rivers and their highways and country roads are chaotic stupidity, designed by a 6 yr old on a sugar high

their fans have the intellect of panicked sheep, racing about wildly enthusiastic one second, bleating in fear and fleeing, the next.

their stadium is, in fact, the world's largest commode. and ufer put it oh so perfectly 50+ years ago referring to their fans in attendance, 'there's 10,000 maize and blue supporters, and 74,000 truck drivers!'

excepting only the detroit red wings uniforms, i cannot stand the color red.

I never thought they'd be able to hire someone more detestable than Urban Meyer, but here we are. Leave it to Ohio State aka Sparty East to have the biggest dirtbag coach imaginable.

-The only coaches that get fired there are the ones that can’t beat UM (Cooper), the rest have to “re-sign” bc of real scandals, but what we allegedly did is an absolute no-no for them

-Claim they hate us but use our script Ohio, use our basketball shorts that aren’t squeezing their balls and riding their crotch, and yet make up a whole song about Michigan

-their fanbase is obnoxious and super embarrassing (sans Buckeye Chuck and a few others)

-really the only thing I like about them is nothing.

I never knew how coddled their fanbase was. Day is honestly a great fit for them - never experienced any real football adversity and as soon as it happens theyre out there hiring PIs and PR firms to try to win off the field. What a perfect match. I'm a bit surprised the CFB world is going along for the ride with this spoiled rotten fanbase

They deserve another L this year

Whoever is doing public relations for them.

By extension:

  • Any gullible fans from other teams who seem to believe that OSU is the clean program and is just policing wayward ones like UM.
  • Any other teams who went along with it.

I hate how spoiled they are and never really having a down period like Michigan did under Rrod and Hoke. I hate how they always seemingly luck into good coaches time after time (hopefully this changes with Day). I hate their stupid faces.

Truth is, their football program is the university's identity. It's the only thing they're known for. Which is fine, but that's not who we are at all. Michigan football is an important part of what makes the University of Michigan excellent, but it's not the only thing. We have an embarrassment of riches.

Ohio State has the least self-aware, spoiled beyond belief, fanbase in the world. Bama fans are more spoiled, clearly, but they also understand who and what they and their team are. Ohio State fans? Not Ohio State fans.  There isn't a single program that deserves and is in need of watching their team wander the desert aimlessly for a decade more than they do. They still like to bitch about "tattoo-gate" (absolutely minimizing the actual infractions occurring there, and that it was repeated behavior three times over). Some even try to claim that Michigan protects Harbaugh while Ohio State was "forced to Fire Meyer" at the first sign of "scandal." Ignoring the fact that he fucking walked away, and is still employed by that shitstack university in some capacity. That the Big Ten has gone out of its way to shield Ohio State every chance it gets.

Then there's Ryan Day. Fuck everything that is who is he. From his shitty beard dye. To his self-professed "toughness" while screaching about an 80 year old on national television. To his inheriting the best situation possible, and doing the bare minimum with it. To his continuing Ohio State's barely hidden attempts to be Win at All Costs State University. To having it pointed out publicly only for nobody to give a flying fuck. To then getting his ass kicked two years in a row (then still getting a shot at a national title anyway), only to take the wrong lessons and go the route of digging up dirt on their rival, and it being leaked in the most coordinated PR campaign I have ever seen. For everyone to side with him for some fucking reason. And for that dirt to be the most mind numblingly stupid thing to bitch about, that is insanely widespread. And everyone to buy into the mind numblingly stupid narrative. For his coordinating with other Big Ten coaches (and likely TCU) to try to stop Michigan making the playoffs. Didn't work fucker. He is soft as 10ply. He is a mediocre football coach. If he loses on Saturday he'll be fired, then we'll all see just how good of a coach he truly is, because he'll never reach the highs he has ever again. Fuck him. Bury him at midfield, then tell him his pinkslip is waiting for him in his office in Columbus.

Their band isn't mid - they're not even top half of the Big Ten. You can have all of the 1940s-era drill you want, but if you sound like ass then you're not a good band.

My biggest eye-opener was at the 2014 game. After halftime, they sent their version of Stadium Band around to play for different sections. Eventually the group stopped in front of the MMB and started playing at us. It took me fifteen seconds (out of a 22-second song) for me to realize they were playing the Victors trio. That's how awful they sounded.

That many of their fans are such incredible assholes.

That they think their band is so damn good when it’s just another college band.

That their band plays that godawful Hang on Sloopy song all the time.

OH!  That they started using that absurd “The” whenever they said Ohio State.  Pathetic.
