UM 31, Rutgers 14. And we don't pull away until the 4th quarter. UM is 0-3 ATS this year. That could be due to the lack of Coach Harbaugh, or it could be an artifact of the shorter games and fewer plays, but I am sticking with the trend.

Its probably going to be more of a slog than we'd like it to be. Rutgers defense is supposed to be pretty good. Not just good for Rutgers, but like actually good, and while I'm not sure they can be expected to do too much on offense, I'm thinking their defense will make Michigan's offense earn its keep for at least the first half. I personally don't expect some flashy bounce-back game from McCarthy. Not a mistake-ridden one, but just an efficient and somewhat pedestrian one.

I'll guess something like 14-6 at the half, a game that it doesn't feel like Rutgers is ever legitimately threatening to get into but its still frustratingly close as it plays good defense and decent keep-away offense. But the Rutgers defense gets tired in the second half and the final score ends up being something like 28-13 or 31-13.

As much as I want/need a massive blowout by M, I just don't see it with how the team has been sleepwalking and the clock rules.

With the new clock rules, I don't see Michigan scoring a lot because they are not a quick scoring team, and Rutgers has a good defense  I can see M getting 34 points and Rutgers scoring 10 with the field goal being in garbage time, so 34-10.

J.J:  2 TDs (Loveland 1, Johnson 1)

Corum:  2 TDS

Turner:  2 FGs

Edwards: 75 total yards

28-21. I think we’ve got a few more issues than we all wanna admit. The line has been less than stellar. Blake looked better last week than the first two, but Donovan doesn’t seem to be as patient as last year, or it could be the line. Our D seems legit but has faced no one to verify that. JJ regressed last week and still makes throws that are ill advised. I hope I’m typing nothing but praise come Sunday. Hopefully Johnson takes the field and Moore isn’t an NHG type thing. Apparently we’re without Graham for a few weeks so we’ll see what Grant looks like full time which is exciting all things considered.

Rutgers' interior DL is sound so we're going to have to play on the perimeter and over the top. Hence we score more points than we have been and after last week JJ will be slightly more careful but still confident. Meanwhile our D will stifle them 98% of the time.

I’m in agreement that this will be way tougher than we want.   Schiano is doing a pretty decent job at a tough place and I get a sense Michigan is his Super Bowl as well.   I also think the play has regressed a little each week even though ECU may have been the best of the three NC opponents.

But I also think the defense is good enough to keep opponents score low so as long as TOs are limited should be not too much trouble but close score…., 7-6 at half.   24-16 Michigan

JJ is going to have to throw.  Rutgers will do everything they can to stop the run.  Which JJ shows up? Good JJ 38-17. Bad JJ 24-21.  I am hoping he got all that out of his system last week.  It’s truly amazing like night and day with him with how he looks
