Game Thread - Men's Hoops - Michigan at MSU - 9:00 pm tip - Peacock
The Maize & Blue men's hoops team tips off against the Spartans in East Lansing this evening.
The game is scheduled to start at 9:00 pm and will be broadcast on Peacock.
I don't know if this will be a welcome distraction from the other discussions around the football team's coaching decisions, NIL, Warde, etc. But, if you'd like to comment - here's a spot.
The Spartans are favored by 12.5 points.
If there's a silver lining - the game's on Peacock, which should mean that not many people will tune in.
Go Blue!

Right but, it's been awhile since they've been ranked.
January 30th, 2024 at 9:42 PM ^
The Spartans were ranked 4th in the pre-season poll.

I will never understand how Tom Izzo avoids getting what is a technical foul for literally every single other basketball coach on Earth

bribes
?
January 30th, 2024 at 9:55 PM ^
Because the referees are actually just spineless cowards in the face of peak jackass apparently. And according to ref defenders that is somehow ok or excusable.

Need to hit both of these and get a stop on D...no more sleeping and giving up wide open threes.
We all know how this team plays in the 2nd half

After the Purdue game, I figured taking msu giving only 11 points was free money to the bettors, yet we are winning
January 30th, 2024 at 9:41 PM ^
I don’t understand not playing Washington III at all, especially since nobody out there can handle the rock even a little
January 30th, 2024 at 9:42 PM ^
Maybe he's really really bad.
January 30th, 2024 at 9:44 PM ^
Washington kinda looks he could be the twin of that girl in the ATT commercial on airplane asking for water...
January 30th, 2024 at 9:50 PM ^
I can't stand that commercial
January 30th, 2024 at 10:08 PM ^
AT&T comparing themselves favorably to an airline is them saying “we finally found someone even less likable than us.” AT&T’s customer service is like something out of the movie Brazil.

Michigan has shot well but hasn't played well. Too many turnovers, stagnant offense. But I'm loving the lead so far.
January 30th, 2024 at 9:44 PM ^
Under two minutes in the first half.. Michigan up.. 35-30
January 30th, 2024 at 9:45 PM ^
Hey that’s progress, using our throw away TO in the half.
January 30th, 2024 at 9:47 PM ^
It’s my fault guys. Just turned it on and saw twill back tap a fucking missed free throw when there’s only 1 of his teammates in the backcourt
January 30th, 2024 at 10:20 PM ^
i seem to be having a similar effect... will give it a little more time.
oh that's better
January 30th, 2024 at 9:47 PM ^
Well, plays like that usually sum it up for this team
January 30th, 2024 at 9:48 PM ^
Get ready for a Walker bullshit 3 to go in or Hoggard slop
January 30th, 2024 at 9:50 PM ^
Let's do this!
January 30th, 2024 at 9:50 PM ^
Good shit Tray
January 30th, 2024 at 9:51 PM ^
It’s halftime - Michigan up by two. 35-33.
January 30th, 2024 at 9:51 PM ^
Playing hard, hustling, hitting the boards, playing smart.
It's great to see!
Go, Blue
January 30th, 2024 at 9:55 PM ^
- If they played this hard all year they would be atleast .500
January 30th, 2024 at 9:56 PM ^
we seem to get it up for rivals
January 30th, 2024 at 9:51 PM ^
Jackson & Reed with some unusual defensive prowess right there.
January 30th, 2024 at 9:52 PM ^
This would be a blowout if we resembled something close to being good. I will be shocked if the second half isn't a rerun of our other games.
January 30th, 2024 at 10:12 PM ^
No shock face needed.
January 30th, 2024 at 9:53 PM ^
Staee hasn't won a game this season when they were down at the half. Let's keep it that way.
January 30th, 2024 at 9:54 PM ^
Better first half than I expected!
January 30th, 2024 at 9:55 PM ^
Gametracker says we're shooting 60.9% from the field... 50% from the line.

Glutton for punishment w/o Cock.
January 30th, 2024 at 10:15 PM ^
Yes, pls
January 30th, 2024 at 10:05 PM ^
Peacock had State with only 10 rebounds? Hell, I thought they had 4 on one possession
January 30th, 2024 at 10:11 PM ^
oh c'mon.
January 30th, 2024 at 10:11 PM ^
Ah yes, when Tom Izzo gets the refs to "let them play" fuck that
January 30th, 2024 at 10:12 PM ^
Annnnddddd….that was fun while it lasted.
January 30th, 2024 at 10:12 PM ^
I’d say it was fun but it wasn’t that fun
January 30th, 2024 at 10:12 PM ^
Every player should just put in AirPods and tune out whatever the fuck Juwan has to say at halftime. This shit is so pathetic.
January 30th, 2024 at 10:12 PM ^
I blame the Basil Hayden for making me watch this crap.
January 30th, 2024 at 10:12 PM ^
A football game has broken out and the refs are allowing Sparty to get away with everything
January 30th, 2024 at 10:13 PM ^
Nice first half guys. Really nice first half. Too bad there's always a second half.
January 30th, 2024 at 10:19 PM ^
Worst second half team in the country
January 30th, 2024 at 10:16 PM ^
So not watching and glad I am not because from following along here a little bit sounds like usual bottom falls out in second half, with a dash of spineless coward refs bending over to take it from Izzo per usual. Yeah, no thanks. Howard era is just the epitome of the dead horse gif at this point. Unfortunately sounds like more might be in store if Manuel has his way.
January 30th, 2024 at 10:17 PM ^
Second half. U16 tv timeout. Michigan down.. 44-39
January 30th, 2024 at 10:19 PM ^
Same shit, different game. Opponent runs created by stagnant offense and phantom defense. I truly feel sorry for these kids. Woefully under coached.
January 30th, 2024 at 10:19 PM ^
This would all suck a lot more if this wasn't basically every game this year
January 30th, 2024 at 10:19 PM ^
Bye bye Toby
January 30th, 2024 at 10:20 PM ^
Our offense is so stagnant.
January 30th, 2024 at 10:25 PM ^
Oh, but according to Warde nothing is amiss. What a joke.
