You sure that's correct? FlightAware has that plane in Ohio, and Harbaugh's plane is -- supposedly -- already in San Fran.

That's Stephen Ross's private jet, not the university's jet. See my link below for the tail number of the univesity's jet (which is still blocked).

I checked earlier this morning. The University still has flight tracking blocked on its jet. I would imagine it will remain that way indefinitely.

and I think I had the old jet's serial number. Maybe doing a search on Willow Run's inbound flights you can see if they have an expected arrival time.
December 29th, 2014 at 11:08 AM ^
I checked Willow Run scheduled arrivals as well. There are no flights listed (which does seem odd). And you didn't have "the old jet's" serial number. You had Stephen Ross's private jet.
December 29th, 2014 at 11:13 AM ^
Didn't realize that he'd have a jet with the same, or at least similar, paint job. I also saw the lack of an inbound on the Willow Run profile. I do have one other source that I can try that may have it, one that would surprise me if he can block it from. I'll wait until the scheduled (reported) departure time which I think is 1pm Eastern Standard Time.
December 29th, 2014 at 11:34 AM ^
I don't think the University's jet is painted anything like his jet.
December 29th, 2014 at 11:20 AM ^
I'm no private jet expert but maybe the flight hasn't been officially scheduled yet and they'll do it closer to takeoff?
December 29th, 2014 at 11:27 AM ^
but its 90 min to scheduled take off and if the pilots haven't filed their flight plan yet, I don't know what the delay would be...

The beauty of flying private is that you don't need to adhere to a strict timeline, and so flight plans can be filed and/or activated quite close to takeoff.

If I had private jet money I would go out of my way to never fly into an airport the size of Metro (or any other big city airport) unless it was absolutely necessary.
December 29th, 2014 at 11:26 AM ^
Just from living / working in the space between Metro and Willow Run, a great majority of the chartered flights or prviately owned aircraft land at / leave from Willow Run simply because of the ease of slotting as well as the fact that the majority of the privately owned hangars are there. A lot of team flights leave from Metro, of course, and some private aircraft, but if you've ever taken a drive up and down Middlebelt, where much of the private hangars sit, there's very little space - the Illitches are next to the UPS hangar though, so there is at least that.

that his start date is immaterial regarding its creepiness or lack thereof, because whether or not it is, the response is to indicate that its par for the course here at MGoBlog.

It would be nice to have a big parade in Ann Arbor on Tuesday!

Job well done, MGoJet.
You deserve our praise.
Now go take a nice long 10-year break.

Yes, thank God someone created this thread....I was wondering when the hell we were going to discuss flightaware.
I guess anything can be blocked, but considering all flights have to have a flight plan, that record has to go somewhere and available online at some source. Someone needs to find it.

He's not flying - Michigan alumni are already en-route to carry him on their shoulders all the way back to A2.

It's like the Olympic torch, except better cause it can coach football.
Somebody needs to do a photoshop of Harbaugh as the Olympic torch with a Block M on it.
December 29th, 2014 at 11:23 AM ^
It just so happens that I'll be driving past it in an hour.
December 29th, 2014 at 11:34 AM ^
I was asking around about that over the holidays up in Michigan, and apparently it is. Harbaugh is going to need to keep a helicopter at Willow Run so he can either land in Ann Arbor or rappel onto Schembechler Hall's roof.
December 29th, 2014 at 11:38 AM ^
He's parachuting onto the block M at midfield. And then throwing to Kolesar.

3,500 ft runway. Should be fine.
Also, Willow Run.

Chatter on Board 5 last night was that "the Harbaughs" have a reservation tonight at Webers'...don't know if Jack or Jim (or both).
