Finebaum extra salty OSU let him down

Submitted by harmon40 on November 26th, 2023 at 1:35 PM

Mr Finebaum is not chastened this morning. Can’t understand why Michigan fans feel vindicated. Not at all pleased with Day, seems to take his failure to beat us personally.

He is his usual onerous self. Do not watch if Finebaum triggers you too much, but I found it enjoyable to see him stewing after Michigan’s statement W yesterday and thought I would share.

IMO of course he is butt hurt. He went along with this media BS to try and derail Michigan at all costs, he (being part of the media fake-rage) even got Harbuagh suspended. No doubt they expected that to be the nail in Michigan's coffin.

Finebaum must be inconsolable that his part of the plot failed.

I didn't watch the clip, I know it wasn't worth my time.

Deep down, Finebaum realizes (with shame and sorrow) that he had a small part in helping Michigan win that game.  All of the ignorant and pompous op-ed specialists like Finebaum merely added to the Michigan-Against-The-World fuel that drove this team with such determination.

If you were one of the "tens of thousands that responded to Paul in the most cruel, crass, and obscene manner"...then I salute you. I really doubt he has those ratings though.

When are people going to realize that these sports pundits are like actors? They play the role of “opinionated asshole” in order to rile up fans and drive traffic to themselves and their advertisers. In “real” life Paul Finenaum probably hates sports (he is clearly not athletic himself) and would prefer to sing show tunes and browse for antiques (for all we know); but his online persona is whatever he and his handlers think will strike a nerve at a given moment. Wasn’t he only recently a big fan of Harbaugh?

“Sign Stealing”.  I would have expected by now true Media professionals would call it what it was, “in person scouting”.  Everyone one tries to steal signals and predict plays.   There is enough known evidence to call it what it was.

Until they finally call it what it was, they are social media drama queen whores who try to get clicks and attention.

My opinions matter ... to me. But having never played the game, I'd never say a former player's opinion doesn't matter. He knows a lot more than I do. I'd consider him an expert, meaning his opinions are more worthy of respect than mine. And certainly more worthy of respect than those of an idiot on an internet broadcast. Sorry for belaboring the obvious.

He is literally a professional troll and his dweeby ass is great at it. Ignore him. The thing that really sticks in my craw is his reach and how he shapes the public’s image of UM in a negative way. He’s punchable just from the shit-eating giggling and scoffing he does. It’s intentional.

Finebaum taking a shot at Flair is no different that Statler taking the piss outta Waldorf — just yahoos yapping from the cheap seats.

in fairness, Flair looks better in tights.

His opinions mean zero since he says nothing substantive about the sport. He’s a gossip reporter that only cares about the drama surround individuals and athletic programs. When he calls a fan base thin-skinned we’ve been clued into what he cares about and his reporting angle. He’s nothing but a TMZ talking head that doesn’t know enough about the X’s and O’s to actually talk shop. Prove me wrong Pete.
