Really strange because he previously said that he would return to Michigan next year.

Surprising, but maybe he wants a shot to be the guy somewhere. He rehabilitated his image with us so I’m sure he’ll get some interest in the portal from some power 5s or at Charlotte with Biff. Best of luck to him.

For us, the logjam on the depth chart at OLB/EDGE is starting to clear up with Okie’s transfer and Morris going pro. We’ve got Jaylen Harrell, Braiden McGregor, Derrick Moore, and Coastal Carolina transfer Josiah Scott all in the mix for 2 spots. Sucks that Okie is leaving but we’re still in a very good spot there.

Bummer. Thought he could have had a big year and he always reminded me of Uche. But good luck to him. DE still seems to be in pretty good shape overall. Moore is ascending, and I like Stewart a lot. Those 2 plus Harrell and McGregor seems like solid enough depth.

Bummer, he seemed like a good breakout candidate and definitely flashed that speed and athleticism that made him a 5 star. Hope he has a good year at his next stop and the rest of the edge guys are ready to step up.

I know transfers are the norm now, but things like this, combined with the harbaugh bullshit, just suck after a good season. 2 years in a row where it feels like the program loses momentum immediately after getting to the playoffs because of a coach who has eyes elsewhere and other nonsense.

I don't get this either.  Sorry to see him go.  Good luck to him though.

This sucks. Nothing against him if he wants to transfer to Charlotte and keep learning through his mentor. Now, if he transfers to another school due to NIL or something else….

I'd bet he goes to Charlotte. Unless I'm mistaken, Poggi was his HS coach, and a huge reason why he transferred to UM in the first place. Not THAT shocking when you think about it from a life/mentor perspective.

Stinks. Seems like he was starting to come into his own but he's got to do what's best for him. 

I thought the first transfer resulted in no waiting period but each transfer after the first resulted in a year of sitting out?  Is that not the case?  Why does the NCAA still exist?

I'll miss yelling "YABIE OKIE" at the TV when he would bend around the tackle and close in on the QB. He had a very yell-friendly name.
