Just shows it's a balanced conference, which is actually ok. Yes that does mean that teams will knock each other out for the playoff. The thing today is that Iowa looked like crap.
October 16th, 2021 at 9:31 PM ^
Everyone seems overrated so we have a conundrum.
October 16th, 2021 at 8:05 PM ^
Fraudulent Iowa was due....no one in the free world thought they were anything but mediocre.
October 16th, 2021 at 8:08 PM ^
Iowa's offense has been anemic all year. It finally caught up with them.
October 16th, 2021 at 8:09 PM ^
David Bell had amazing day:
11 receptions for 240 yards, 1 TD, long 60.
October 16th, 2021 at 8:14 PM ^
Another year, in which, by mid-season you can tangibly point to how stupid the alignment of teams is for this conference.
October 16th, 2021 at 8:14 PM ^
Purdue pulled the kind of upset that Harbaugh has never even been close to in all his time here. On the road. Oh, and didn't they upset OSU too?
October 16th, 2021 at 8:25 PM ^
Teams get up for Michigan just a tad more than against Purdue
October 16th, 2021 at 8:27 PM ^
These kinds of posts are dumb:
- When you are always unranked, you get more opportunities to upset other ranked teams.
- Michigan doesn’t sneak up on anybody. They get their opponent’s best shot.
October 16th, 2021 at 8:42 PM ^
Opportunities do not equate to ability. And Michigan under Harbaugh has NEVER managed to give teams better than them their best shot. Not once. Why is that?
October 16th, 2021 at 8:56 PM ^
Out of spite for you. Jim Harbaugh doesn't want to pull a huge road win against a team like OSU so that DeepBlueC on the internet will be miserable, make false equivalencies, and have something to complain about.

Wow... Purdue finally purdid!
October 16th, 2021 at 9:08 PM ^
An Iowa fan threw a full beer on the field and a Purdue player picked it up and downed it mid-game.
October 16th, 2021 at 10:53 PM ^
Nice!
October 17th, 2021 at 12:14 AM ^
Gotta respect that!
October 17th, 2021 at 12:16 AM ^
Nice.
October 16th, 2021 at 9:20 PM ^
Iowa at #2 was a very silly ranking.
October 17th, 2021 at 11:34 AM ^
Not really, it’s midway through a cf season where there aren’t a lot of dominant teams. Georgia and everyone else so far. So we are getting the wild changes in the top ten every week. Iowa had only one worthy win but was 6-0 and that worthy win was because Clifford went out.
A parity year imo. Not the typical year with 2-4 teams already determined for the playoff.
Georgia or Bama, one will be out imo. Bama is not infallible and Georgia should be undefeated going into the sec title game.
Michigan, msu, Osu, Psu…. Osu/Psu have to win out. Michigan or msu could conceivably win out or have one loss and be in.
Oregon, win out and should be in. If they win out I think most would recognize Oregon should be undefeated.
Ou/Okie st most likely ou wins out..
UC, cincicinnati is winning out unless somehow they stumble against SMU….
October 16th, 2021 at 9:21 PM ^
Iowa = poop
Yes, I'm drunk
October 16th, 2021 at 9:25 PM ^
Can’t underestimate MSU. Unfortunately this reminds me of their 2017 season. They keep getting insanely lucky and it is beyond irritating.
October 16th, 2021 at 9:30 PM ^
They actually seem better this year than 2017.
October 16th, 2021 at 10:18 PM ^
after losing last year, I highly doubt they will be underestimated this year.
I don't think they are any better this year than in the past. They rely on big plays. Today was a pick 6 that set the tone.
They also got lucky when a drive stalls and IU had a pass interference that kept the drive alive for a go ahead score.
I will say they do exploit the opportunities that are given them. But you keep away the big plays, they really do struggle.
October 17th, 2021 at 12:43 AM ^
Hopefully we use this bye week to prepare for all of their gadget plays. Sparty has attempted a flea flicker in just about every game they have played.Indiana did a great job of laying out a defensive game plan to keep them at bay. Hopefully McDonald took note.
October 16th, 2021 at 10:54 PM ^
2015 was their insanely lucky season.
October 17th, 2021 at 11:36 AM ^
Still burnt Harbaugh didn’t call time out before the punt. Still burnt about that….yelling at the tv the entire time before the snap call time out..
October 16th, 2021 at 9:29 PM ^
Guess the game goes Rock<Iowa<Purdue.
October 16th, 2021 at 9:38 PM ^
I was really hoping that Michigan was going to hand them their first loss. I am not surprised that someone knocked off the offensively inept Hawkeyes but I didn't think it would be Purdue at Iowa. Oh well, both teams have had a good moment and that suits the hard working players on both sides.
October 16th, 2021 at 10:37 PM ^
If you were hoping for Michigan to hand them their first loss then you would have needed Iowa to stay undefeated at least until October 1st 2022.
October 17th, 2021 at 8:37 AM ^
Funny. Let's try, "Oh, so you thought Iowa was on their way to a national championship?" Otherwise it appears you have to ignore the word "hope."
October 17th, 2021 at 9:07 AM ^
Or undefeated Michigan beats undefeated Iowa in the Big Ten Championship game..
October 16th, 2021 at 9:59 PM ^
Iowa's offense is craptacular.
October 16th, 2021 at 11:12 PM ^
And, like the last decade, only OSU will be in playoff contention.
Big Ten overrated, the whole group would get blasted by Bama or Georgia.
October 16th, 2021 at 11:38 PM ^
I’m of the opinion the penn state doesnt matter if we beat state and oSU we’re b1g east and by way of that gauntlet Big 10 champs, playoff as the backdrop
October 17th, 2021 at 1:48 AM ^
It would suck being the big 10 championship with one loss only and have Cincinnati make the playoffs over Michigan!
October 17th, 2021 at 9:44 AM ^
There’s no way a one loss Big10 champ doesn’t make the playoffs. The Sec and the B1G are the best conferences in the country. The champs of those conferences will be in the playoff for the foreseeable future.
October 17th, 2021 at 1:45 AM ^
IA was overrated. Their D is good but their offense was sub par! I hope Cade can play like the Purdue QB.
October 17th, 2021 at 7:39 AM ^
I'm surprised their D gave up 375 passing yards but not surprised their offense scored only 7 pts. As I watched them play Penn St last week, I told my brother that Petras was one of the worst QB's in the B1G. I would firmly rank him in the 12-14 range amongst B1G starters. He adds nothing to their offense other than hinderance. He can't run. He is just a statue that can't throw.
According to an article on ESPN, Purdue has now beaten a top two AP team NINE times in their history. The next best is only Four. That is a crazy stat!
