Don't know. Just seems like some fans want to be hard on M all the time. If we played like MSU did today, there will be doom going on right now. We beat the crap out of Wisconsin and that means they must be just bad. Anyway, not picking on you, but it is never going to be enough for M until they beat OSU.
October 16th, 2021 at 7:48 PM ^
I don’t know that anyone says they are “bad “. I think many of us think they are solid team but nevertheless overrated and should not be in the top 10.
October 16th, 2021 at 8:54 PM ^
Is there resume that much worse than ours? Narrow victories over Nebraska (ours is "better"). Beat Rutgers. Washington and Miami are a wash IMO. Then a bunch of trash other than us crushing Wisconsin. They even have some legit players in Walker III and Reed.
October 16th, 2021 at 7:29 PM ^
Outgained again. Both on the ground and through the air.
we should beat them but their strategy of running into stacked boxes then just heaving it up on 3rd and 7 is giving me anxiety. (‘Michigan should worry about’)
On the bright side I would say Indiana wasn’t getting much rush at all and they still couldn’t move the ball. I think we all know Aiden ans Ojabo be much more disruptive. (‘Michigan can sleep soundly about’)
October 16th, 2021 at 7:06 PM ^
At at some point, even an elite defense gets got a little bit. And the offense needs to bail them out and score 30.
Without short fields or defensive TDs, what's Iowa's points ceiling against a team with a pulse? 21? Maybe?
They had 200-ish yards before garbage time today!
October 16th, 2021 at 7:06 PM ^
No magic at Kinnick Stadium today. Purdue had all of the magic by playing 3QBs. What a game plan, it was amazing to watch.
Iowa's putrid offense was exposed but credit a stout Purdue defense that has Ron English on that staff.
Not only does #2 ranked team fall, it allows OH State, Mich and MSU to move up. The B1G West division is wide open.
It was fun watching Purdue execute that offense and then win convincingly.
October 16th, 2021 at 7:27 PM ^
Ron English never had a problem defending the Iowa offenses of the world. Still, good win for him and Purdue.
October 16th, 2021 at 7:06 PM ^
Iowa will drop a bunch of spots. Everyone thinks they would have lost to PSU but for the Clifford injury. They don't have the track record of Alabama nor the respect. The will drop to at least No.9. behind us and MSU.
October 16th, 2021 at 7:53 PM ^
I look for Iowa to drop to 11 or 12 - at least. That wasn't just a loss - it was real ugly. The stats and final score tells the whole story
October 16th, 2021 at 7:07 PM ^
These games are stupid long thanks to commercial timeouts.
October 16th, 2021 at 7:08 PM ^
Yup. Fox takes the cake. Unwatchable
October 16th, 2021 at 8:08 PM ^
Yeah, we record the game and start watching about an hour into it. We can skip the commercials and usually catch up toward the end of the game. Makes for a much better experience.
October 17th, 2021 at 9:28 AM ^
Twice during a crucial replay, did ABC cut away to a full commercial time out. I hadn't noticed that before this game. It was so frustrating. It's not just Fox but now all of the networks.

Losers
October 16th, 2021 at 7:12 PM ^
It was only a matter of time. Props to Iowa anyway. Perdue for that matter too. I always root for Iowa the same reason I root against Texas and USC. Texas and USC have such a recruiting advantage but both suck. Iowa does great with the guys they get.
October 16th, 2021 at 7:15 PM ^
Frank gives you props right back.
October 16th, 2021 at 7:35 PM ^
Why do people keep calling Purdue "Perdue?"
October 16th, 2021 at 7:57 PM ^
Autocorrect maybe. That’s how I got there. Either way it’s no excuse on my part. Perdue looks pretty bad. Scott Frost likes my effort and I’ll do better next time. I’m salty that team cost me my parlay.
October 16th, 2021 at 8:41 PM ^
I’m not exactly sure, but when I tasted a sample of Perdue chicken nuggets at the grocery store, it was pretty good. Then I buy a package, throw them in the air fryer at home they taste like shit. Nothing makes sense.
October 17th, 2021 at 1:58 AM ^
Oh, hell no. Not after this year and what we learned about their coaching staff.
October 16th, 2021 at 7:16 PM ^
Purdue is the kind of team that dominates Iowa in Kinnick and then loses at home to Akron. College football is fascinating.
October 16th, 2021 at 7:23 PM ^
Purdue winning on and off the field today against Iowa. Great tweet
October 16th, 2021 at 7:35 PM ^
Bravo Purdue Football social media team
October 16th, 2021 at 8:08 PM ^
HAHAHA look at Purdue! They won twice today!
October 16th, 2021 at 7:22 PM ^
Didn’t know Purdue has the most upset wins over No 2 ranked teams in college football history.
cool stat
October 16th, 2021 at 7:28 PM ^
You never know in Power 5 games. Any team can get up for a game. Cincinnati doesn"t play teams like Purdue who may upset you
October 16th, 2021 at 7:28 PM ^
This is so true
October 16th, 2021 at 8:05 PM ^
Purdue's very existence upsets me.
October 16th, 2021 at 7:36 PM ^
There’s a reason why they’re called the Spoilermakers.
October 17th, 2021 at 6:47 AM ^
They defeated us in 1964 when we were ranked 5th. Since it was our only loss of the season. it probably cost us the championship. Not a team to underrate.
October 16th, 2021 at 7:26 PM ^
Voters should have seen what Iowa's offense was. They never belonged in the top 4, probably don't belong in the top 10.
October 16th, 2021 at 7:55 PM ^
I love you EC, but cmon.
I will give you GA and AL.
But 8 more teams who are definitely better that IA?
You are out ahead of your skis..
My try would be OK, Mi, MSU, then, I'm stuck.
TX, no. Oregon, Probably. Cincy, they don't face enough Purdue level comp as someone said in this thread. Fl, probably not. KY. Maybe.. OK St. Probably not.
IA is just in a stack with 20 other teams behind GA and AL who could beat each other on any day. Does not mean that they didn't deserve their ranking.
October 16th, 2021 at 7:56 PM ^
Iowa was a bit of a fraudulent #2 but:
-They were undefeated.
-Just beat the top ranked B1G East team (PSU).
-Bama, Clemson, and OSU already had losses.
They have to be ranked high or why else play the games?
October 16th, 2021 at 7:32 PM ^
Iowa got caught looking ahead… to their bye week.
October 16th, 2021 at 7:33 PM ^
More like the Iowa Fraudeyes, amirite
October 16th, 2021 at 8:04 PM ^
I feel like this made me laugh much harder than it should have. Tip of the hat to ya
October 16th, 2021 at 7:46 PM ^
This is a crazy year, Cincinnati will be ranked #2 now on Monday. They also have over a 90% chance to win in every single game they play throughout their regular season schedule. How, will the CFP committee keep them out of the playoffs if they don't drop one of those games? Theoretically, they will have stayed at #2 for 5-6 weeks, and I don't think they can ignore that.
October 16th, 2021 at 8:00 PM ^
CFP. Is not bound by AP polls as far as I know. If no major shake up happens for the next three weeks (?), there is a good chance Cincinnati will not be in the top 4 in the first CFP ranking. Georgia, OK, AL, and winner of M, MSU game or even OSU. I can see Cincinnati at 4 but will not be surprised if they are at 5.
October 16th, 2021 at 8:02 PM ^
This ranking is as big a joke as Iowa's. Just makes the polls look ridiculous.
October 16th, 2021 at 8:12 PM ^
While they may be ranked number two now, they also won’t play anyone good the rest of the year. Meanwhile, UM, MSU, PSU, OU, Bama, and OSU all have a bunch of big games. , even with one loss. Even if Cinci wins out, but has a bad game where they look unimpressive and manage a win, they could easily drop a spot. They need to look dominant in every game to have a chance.
October 16th, 2021 at 8:31 PM ^
I’d have no issues with Cincy being in the playoff assuming it doesn’t screw us. Say we win out but lose a close game to OSU who blows out the west champ. Bama, Georgia, OSU and us would be awesome. If it doesn’t screw us and does OSU, FUK Em! Take Cincy. Who would probably face Georgia and find out that ND isn’t such a signature win. This all hinges of course on Oregon and Oklahoma losing another game.
October 16th, 2021 at 7:47 PM ^
Who would have thought, close game tho
October 16th, 2021 at 7:48 PM ^
And to think Carr and Coleman were pursuing this guy to be his replacement. . .
October 16th, 2021 at 8:25 PM ^
As opposed to the totally awesome choice we did make, that of Rich Rodriguez.
October 16th, 2021 at 10:14 PM ^
Rich Rodriguez was never given a fair shot here.
October 17th, 2021 at 9:50 AM ^
True. But what about every one of his stops after ours?
October 16th, 2021 at 7:49 PM ^
Satisfying & kind of hilarious that Purdue did what Franklin and Penn State could not
October 16th, 2021 at 8:01 PM ^
Just shows how utterly overrated the Big Ten is this year.
October 16th, 2021 at 8:08 PM ^
How is it overrated? The west division is just weak. Name more than 3 good teams in any conference. Penn St with Clifford is good, OSU is good, Michigan and Michigan St appear to be good.
