Deserved to lose. Historically horrible game.

49 points is high school stuff.

Great season but tonight was ridiculous.

Hats off to UCLA.

Great season, horrible game.

Dickinson is not Hakeem Olajuwan.  Terrible idea to keep running the offense through a guy that couldn't hit a layup all game.

No kidding. It didn't seem like there was any plan on offense. It the second half it reverted to throw it to Dickinson no matter what and have him shoot under any circumstance. It looked like they had something going when Smith went out for a while, but they hopped back on the struggle bus as soon as he came back in.

I can probably come back to the board in a couple days and talk about the seasons success, and this was still a good season. This one still hurts, and will hurt for a while.

Damn. This season was an incredibly joy ride. It really sucks to lose to a pretty average team because you can't make a shot. I will be shocked if Gonzaga doesn't roll UCLA by twenty.

I mean, I loved this team. I hate that they went out like this. I'd have rather lost to LSU in a barn burner than a game where you just get stuck in mud. Mid-season, the team shot the ball with immense confidence, and I don't know why that went away for guys, but it did, outside of Chaundee. That's a game Michigan wins 8/10 times, but they lost tonight. Go blue. The future is bright for the basketball team.

They’ll never have a better opportunity or an easier opponent to go to the Final Four. Missed free throws. Missed lay ups. Sloppy play. Missed, what, 9-straight shots to lose a game by 2? Those plays at the end weren’t the best they could have done. On the first two, didn’t even try to drive it. Just chuck from 3. YOU WERE IN THE DOUBLE BONUS. DRIVE THE FUCKING BALL. It’s one thing to lose. It’s another to lose because of 40 minutes worth of gut-wrenching miscues.

Absolutely choked. Franz was terrible. The team missed an absolute mountain of makeable shots and FREE throws. UCLA played good defense but that was 99% choke job by Michigan.

That sucks. You could almost feel it coming with how 'easy' this game was supposed to be for us.

I mean look. We had a great season, the future is bright and this team was special. Don't hate on individual players.

But that truly was a heinous, heinous loss. Just atrocious.

UCLA is a middling team, one that didn't even play well themselves!!! And we still lost, as a 1 seed, to an 11 seed on the cusp of a Final Four.

This loss had everything: free throw shooting misses numbering more than double the final margin, 7+ missed shots in a row to end the game (with plenty of good look opportunities to take the lead), heartbreaking at the end, horribly sloppy start filled with turnovers, hope repeatedly crushed in the final minute, one bad call that was more than the final margin (the phantom shooting foul that gave Juzang 3 unearned Free Throws), poor coaching on the final play of the game.

Everything had to go wrong for us to lose this...and everything did. Deserve this loss 1000%.

You are right that we shouldn’t hate on individual players. I try to present my takes without hating just with stating facts. PG play was bad and Wagner went 1 of 9. You’ll never win that way with your best guy out and to top it off missing numerous free throws. Michigan kept having chances to go up by 3 or 4 and kept not taking over. Just a bad effort tonight.

SO many open looks. Guys were obviously incredibly tight. Missed free throws. Brooks trying his flippy-one-handed-over-the-head shot *twice*. Should have found Chaundee and let him shoot threes all night. Seemed like he and Austin Davis were the only relaxed guys out there.

Smith hasn't missed a layup like that all season and he missed one in the final minute.  Brooks possibly the smartest player on our team but tried to flip in a no look catch and shoot reverse layup in one motion on two separate occasions, the last one under 10 seconds.  Dickinson at the free throw line where he's been basically money all year looked like a freshman trying to get to a Final Four. Tight is an understatement.  They were so happy to be near the rim they were trying to get it out of their hands before they could even catch it.

GREAT SEASON! I look forward to a championship soon.

I wish Brown got that last shot

you miss free throws and you will lose

Wagner sucked, but Smith got his ass handed to him on offense and defense.  Also, why not at least run that last set with Brown and Wagner flipped so Brown, your best 3 point shooter, takes the three?  But Mike Smith hero-ball is apparently never going to stop.  I thought it was a one-time thing where he messed up passing to Dickinson on a switch against OSU, but it wasn't.  He really thinks he's Chris Paul or some shit in the last minute of a half.

I said this in the other thread but when you have your supposed 1st round projected pick shoot 1-9, your center misses 6+ free throws, your point guard plays bad, and you refuse to utilize the guys making plays this is what happens.

The refs had literally zero to do with this loss. Michigan was in the bonus with around 8 minutes to go or something ridiculous like that. Brooks disappeared for huge stretches. And Smith believe in the last 2 minutes of a tight game that he has to be the one to win the game. Brown and John’s should have been utilized more and should have played more down the stretch. Not to mention Davis should have been in longer. Michigan was right to want to feed the post, they were wrong to keep Dickinson in after missing numerous free throws. Davis wasn’t a liability on defense in this game and his offense is always on. They could have utilized that better as well.
