Couple interesting things

Submitted by GhostofJermain… on May 19th, 2022 at 1:46 PM

Ran into a Manager from the basketball team at Schem.  He said looks like CH and MD are gone, allegedly OKC is the team who has promised CH, apparently 2 of his high school team mates are also on the Thunder roster.  Only scenario either are back is if Juwan can convince them to stay...

The football team is planning for a huge BBQ weekend with multiple commits. Coach Moore, Cink, and Jay all have kids ready to commit.

The entire building is focusing on DM this weekend, they hope to pull ahead in his recruitment starting NOW. No waffles planned, but Denard, MW, and JJMc are not going to give up easy.  I think this situation figures itself out quick.  CJ might already be better, or more sought after, especially after the weekend he just had at an elite camp.

BMc plays end with the 2's, and randomly gets snaps with the 1's, seems like Frosh and Sophs are passing him.

MS still playing both ways.

JJ and Cade are much tighter friends than it looks, help each other and are constantly competing.

The transfer, CG looks like Vince fricking Wilfork

Cheers

The spring game I thought GUY (T.J. Guy) looked quite promising, and there seemed afterwards to be little mention.... And the opposite with BMc, who didn't show me anything, and got highly praised.  At least my eye didn't deceive me.

ANATOMY OF A GHOSTOFJERMAINE THREAD

Read intentially vague thread title

Saw 8 upvotes

Knew IMMEDIATELY it would be by Ghost - any other crappy post title would've been hammered points-wise.

Read post knowing it would contain vailuable, accurate information that I wouldnt understand for the most part because I dont know all our players first and last names

Scrolled down into comments also knowing at least one (and sometimes more) kind poster would decode the initials mystery so I could tell who he was talking about.

Rinse, repeat.

I don't bother to learn their first names until they play. In fact, although I read the recruit profiles I barely remember their last names until they play.

Reading last year's recruiting profiles is usually more rewarding in this regard. Those guys are going to start making an impact this year.

Thanks. Whether two of his HS teammates are on the OKC roster is knowable info; unless I'm mistaken, I don't see any Montverde alums on the roster. Also not sure how that would matter; would be weird if Presti took HS teammates' practice evals of a kid > DI game tape.

But alas. Sounds like Houstan is gone, even if the manager is just adding speculation to the Givony tweet. Hope he has a Poole-like blow up in a couple of years.

Yeah, I too was puzzled by that sentence. "apparently 2 of his high school team mates are also on the Thunder roster. "

It's pretty easy to see yes or no if two of his HS teammates play for the Thunder. The players in the NBA right now that Houstan played with in HS are Cade Cunningham, Moses Moody, Scottie Barnes, Dayron Sharpe and Precious Achiuwa. None of which play in OKC.

This is a pretty easy to figure out thing if that anecdote is accurate or not. Not saying OKC havent promised Houstan anything, but I dont think its because of his HS teammates...

"BMc plays end with the 2's, and randomly gets snaps with the 1's, seems like Frosh and Sophs are passing him. "

Is this really a surprise? How long has it been since he blew his knee out?

"JJ and Cade are much tighter friends than it looks, help each other and are constantly competing. "

This news warms my heart. I know I"m romanticizing here, but it seems like one of the best parts of the way college ball used to be was how guys would bond through competition. Now it's mostly just portal, portal, portal...

agreed re: Braiden. Normally I would say it's getting late early, but coming off his injury, I would have thought somewhere during this season would be when you start to see flashes. If he's recovering patiently and getting back to 100% physically, there's still all the phases of the game that he hasn't been getting full-speed reps on the way you'd want for a long time. I think we'll know what we have in him by Fall 2023, If some guys pass him before then, well...can't speak to that.

It's been almost three years.  He had surgery in 2019, sat out 2020 and was supposedly 100% last year: https://michigan.rivals.com/news/braiden-mcgregor-details-road-back-from-injury-aidan-hutchinon-s-as-mentor

The fact he's not taking command of a starting spot and getting passed by guys younger than he is this year is concerning (understandable last year but this is the year he needs to be making moves).

Couple interesting things

  1. Justin Feagin has committed to Michigan
  2. Keith Jackson is calling Michigan's first game this fall.
  3. The south end zone at Michigan Stadium is, oddly enough, missing a goal post.

Well, is he enrolled at UM and "officially" on the team? Since he didnt announce his transfer pick until like April 22nd or something, he wasn't with the team during the spring, and the "Spring Roster" is what is shown on the website.

I don't think they really update that again until camp begins later in the summer.

man.

  • terrible, terrible thread title.  obviously.
  • for the love of god, stop with the idiotic initials.  it doesn't make you sound like an insider, it just makes you unreadable.
