It seems the fanbase is looking past Michigan.  He asked if we had a good defense.  Dawg fans are complaining online that they are having a hard time getting face value for their tickets.  They are trying to sell to each other.  He said the fans are waiting to travel for the Championship game.  I asked how low for the tickets...He said they are struggling to sell that for $225.

Isn’t that true in every SEC state? I live in Kentucky and all you hear about is UK and the damn SEC. I’ve never seen a fanbase root for teams like Ole Miss and South Carolina in the ncaa tournament more than they do just to get a damn SEC team to the final four. Bowl season is the same way. Its like if Bama wins the title they all win and if an SEC team wins the national title in basketball that they all win one.

No they wouldn't.

It wouldn't even be close.

Across the country this has been the most watched season in YEARS. SEC fatigue won't outweigh the natural interest in watching one last college football game.

Will it break records like Michigan/Bama could? No. But it's not even going to be close to all-time low.

Viewing of sports is up, fans are in the stadium, we're still in a pandemic so not much else to do...and we're still in a pandemic so that's not consuming everything like it was last year.  We, as a country, are obviously numb to it at this point...just look at the numbers.

People are tuning in on January 10 regardless of the match-up.

Dumb to argue about...Michigan/Bama or Michigan/Cincy is that game in question. ?

Last year's ratings were ABYSMAL...and it STILL did 2.5M more than Michigan/OSU did this year (a game that shattered records in recent history, and an all-time great rating for a regular season games).

It's like the Super Bowl, people are going to watch it even if they know the game will suck or they're tired of certain teams/players (i.e., Tom Brady).

Last time we had an all-SEC rematch in the championship game (Alabama - LSU), the ratings were in the toilet.  So bad, it caused them to expand to 4 teams to try to prevent it.

The good thing is that there won't be the subliminal pressure on the refs to try to make sure that we have an all-SEC rematch in the final.  Their employer, the CFP, would much rather have a new face like Michigan in the final, and the refs know it.

If Alabama wins the first game, there will be no pressure on the refs to feel they need to flip 50/50 calls to Georgia if they want to ref these games again.

Peril. Never underestimate an unknown opponent. We are going to play our best. And our best will be good enough. And those who doubt it, will be surprised. That's the nature of Michigan football and life.

I believe that may be true for many, but let's be real...there's no way they are confident they will beat Alabama after the last ass-kicking. Speaking personally, I'd rather pay $225 in a playoff win than 400-500 in a loss. If they're that confident, that is.

I think the Alabama game deflated many in the fanbase who see the whole thing as futile. I think that's more realistic. At least, that's how I'd feel if Michigan made the playoffs with 1 loss (to OSU) and was favored to win round 1 only to get OSU again for the prize. Yes, you remain hopeful...just doubtful.

Just playing devil's advocate to what the fans you talk with might be REALLY thinking. Most Georgia fans I've heard from (admittingly, not many) are expecting to lose to Michigan regardless the line.

LOL

I remember some years ago, my high school team was in the State Championship. The team they were playing was defending State champs. That team had the Championship t-shirts made ahead of time and ready for the game. But my high school beat them. They were beating them so bad that in the 4th qtr the refs invoked the mercy rule that limits clock stoppages. Glorious!

He said the fans are waiting to travel for the Championship game

I hope this little piece of information is spread far and wide in Wolverine world!! Cork board material if ever I saw it.

It’s all about SEC speed. I saw a very trusted source (ESPN) explain how an SEC player who runs 4.4 forty is actually faster than a B1G player with the same time.

The conference itself actually makes them faster despite precise time measurements that suggest they have identical speed.

The SEC defies laws of physics. Amazing, really.

UGA is the Bills of College Football, haven’t won anything in 4 decades.  UGA fans crap me up, the Bulldogs played no one all year until the played Bama.  Uof〽️ will win this game because they will own the O and D lines.  I strongly believe Uof〽️ wins this game convincingly.

The Michigan game is something to "get out of the way" to get to the rematch with Alabama in their minds.

They (including the GA players and coaches) have one eye on Alabama.  If Alabama rolls Cincinnati, they will be even more distracted.  It's unavoidable.

Michigan is 100% focused on Georgia.

I like Georgia, I like their fan base, and I have some Georgia fan friends.

If we have the same level of intensity we had against OSU and Iowa, we won't just beat them, we'll blow the doors off them.

All the people picking Georgia and Vegas are basically asking you to ignore what you see with your eyes. If you watched Michigan OSU and Georgia Alabama, you know who is winning this game.

Sure, you fancy stat it, it looks good for Georgia, but I believe there's a limit to fancy stats and Michigan looks like a better football team and will demonstrate that it is.
