College Football Gameday Open Thread

They're at JMU this morning, where everyone is hoping the NCAA makes some late decision to let them into the club.

Why give these guys clicks, you ask?  Because Michigan accepted everything the B1G complained about and as such validated everything ever said.  So get over it.  Business as usual...

Still an extremely hard pass from me dawg. I blocked ESPN from all browsers - fuck that trash network.

I recommend getting some chores done, spending time with family, anything else. Go Blue!

I feel you!  But I'll be watching CFB from now through the end of PAC-12 After Dark and I don't care which network is showing the games.  I'm not going to not watch a good game in my favorite sport because of talking heads.

I chose not to go to the UMD game late last night, but I sure as hell won't miss it!

I missed it.. are the Jonas Brothers performing?   Perhaps they are the guest puckers.

I’m not sure what the issue is here - and, honestly - this goes back to a Seinfeld episode… do you remember “The Opposite”?

So, when ESPN says anything… if you want to be correct, do the opposite.

Don’t forget.. PSU has a strong run defense - the best in the country.  All Michigan did was.. run on it.. all game long.

What I find interesting is - someone like Thamel saying Michigan still has a “huge” advantage.  And, he cited the seven man OL runs against PSU as an example.  “No one else was doing that against PSU.”   And, my answer is.. perhaps no other offense .. thought to do that.. or.. has the personnel to do that.

i look forward to this being in the rear view mirror.  That’s a week from tomorrow.

My God McAfee is an idiot.  Just asked (rhetorically) if Michigan will run 35 straight times again because that's how they're going to play without Harbaugh.  Asshat...

if you turn on big noon the thing you will see front and center is a free Harbaugh sign. behind it a "Michigan all time leader in wins"

A little nuance in what Michigan accepted would be more honest. New facts came to light, Michigan owned up to the new wrongdoings and the punishment finally fit the crime.

Holding yourself accountable is showing integrity. I'm proud of how the University handled this, and still disappointed in how the big ten handled it. And the original story was still embellished.

I disagree that the punishment fit the crime - especially the 'crimes' the B1G accused Michigan of in their reasoning for three games (endangering players, biggest scandal, in-person scouting, etc).  It's WAY over the top of any similar precedence and completely bypassed any type of investigative process whatsoever.

I am completely ashamed of the way Michigan just folded without anything in return.  Nothing.

(And don't give me any 'we don't know what we don't know' business - it doesn't matter if its not publicly stated with the initial statement.)

I am still bummed that they didn't fight but I get it. Surprised that UM actually fought back this much. That is progress. Well, let us see how they handle their stay in B1G long term. Either they look for some serious changes in B1G policies, commissioner's authorities, configuration of the executive committee or leave B1G. Either of those is acceptable. Doing nothing is unacceptable. Let us hope Harbaugh sticks around to see thru this. But let us hold judgment until we get there OP.

For now, let us support the team and get to the playoffs.

Herbstreit casually mentioned "Is that (Ann Arbor) where we're going next week?"  They won't, and they probably shouldn't, but part of me wants Michigan to refuse to host.

About next week - none of us want CGD to show up on campus, and we don't want Michigan to grant the 50 tickets (or whatever the number) that ESPN requested.  But be prepared - they will be front and center on campus, wherever they usually setup (I know, several different spots to choose from).  And Michigan will not deny tickets, nor will Michigan deny media availability to the players and coaches.

I don't want them to - I want Warde and Santa to offer both birds and nothing else.  But it won't happen.

Honestly? ESPN game day sucks now, but I don’t necessarily blame the usual suspects on that network for being jack wagons. Finebaum and Dinich hated Michigan before so no surprise what they’ve been saying about all of this. Davis was never a very knowledgeable guy about anything. Stephen a smith is just loud and obnoxious and the not thing you can say that is good about him is that he has strong opinions. They are always wrong, and always stupid, but they are strong. McAfee is the same only his opinions go whichever way the current wind is blowing.

The only one on that network that I would never apologize for or excuse is Thamel. That guy doesn’t have the integrity or honesty to write about the local women’s quilting bee or the local article on farmer brown’s lost cow.

I've wanted an excuse to not turn it on for years. I'll never watch again. Not hyperbole, either. Just like others have said, be productive, take a walk, spend time with your family. Anything but watch that garbage.

Big Noon committed to The Game before the season kicked off.

Look at next week’s schedule.  There is one game really worth watching - The Game.  Period.

There’s no doubt Game Day will be in Ann Arbor.  The only question is - will they set up at Pioneer, or - also have a location on campus.  That’s it.

I hope Big Noon is near the Student Entrance - like ‘21.

I agree with you but admit that after all this, I’ve surprised myself at how easily I can fall into the bullshit trolling that happens on social media.  Especially twitter.  That place has helped me a lot with many things (business and overall life encouragement) but the OSU and MSU trolls have taken over my feed and it’s time for a break.  The negativity breads the whining and in reality all the goals for the team are still out there to accomplish.  Perspective is key!

The far superior Big Noon Kickoff is on, and I'm really enjoying the signs. Shout out to ixcuincle with the "Free Harbaugh" sign, and kudos to whomever brought the "Pat McAfee Sucks" sign.

Wow.  Big Noon Kickoff is being far more harsh on Michigan than ESPN was...

Feldman threw them right under the bus and said it was just getting worse and more messy.
