Damn. Only two weeks from being the crazed manifesto of a middle-aged single loser whose social media profile pics are *DEFINITELY NOT* him giving a thumbs-up while awkwardly posing with an uncomfortable female sports bar server 25-40 years his junior and without a choice in the matter, composed while he was drunk enough for it to make it past his internal "Yeah but SHOULD I type this whole long-ass shit and then ACTUALLY post it publicly?" censor, to being put into action. And against the most sophisticated network of university-paid undercover system manipulators anyone has known since, uh...the last time RCMB was angry and Busch Light was on sale.

Damn. I was afraid of that. One more game probably would have gotten him in.

Sorry for him, sorry for the program's prestige.

Fortunately, he seems very grounded—get well soon, Corum—and the program's got plenty of prestige.

As much as I love BC, what Edwards has done since he went down I think had a big impact on him getting invited. All 4 of the qbs gondown and their team is screwed. We thrashed Ohio and beat Purdue by 3 scores without our guy

Corum's absence might be felt in the next couple of games. With all due respect to the budding star D. Edwards is right now, the ability to grind 4-5-6 yards a carry and sustain drives is crucial. Edwards is a home run hitter for sure but when you're up by 3 or 7 and looking to ice the game against the best of the CFB world, that guy will be missed. Or Edwards just goes off for 75 yard TDs which is also cool.

If Blake had been the Michigan back to run for 200 yds. and two TDs against OSU, he'd be the winner. Still, he has better stats than previous RB winners, though missing 2 1/2 games.

I'm surprised that Zach Charbonnet didn't get in the mix: 195 attempts, 1,359 yds., 14 TDs, and a whopping 7.0 yds. per carry.

It's obviously disappointing that Corum didn't make it. Among full-season players I think Cam Rising got snubbed because I'd take him over any of these guys:

  1. Bennett (a game manager surrounded by five-stars)
  2. Stroud (a system QB surrounded by five-stars)
  3. Duggan (Rising with better weapons)

Williams is going to win it, so whatever, but Rising beat him twice and actually won a championship.

He was a long shot even before getting injured. The only two RB winners were from Bama - I'm excluding Bush since his award was vacated, but it's three if you include him.

The good news is that we got to see The Don step up and show us what we can expect in the Playoffs and 2023.

If Blake had had the same two kinds of performances that The Don had, he'd probably make the finals but still not win.

Caleb has the inside track - even with the F. U. fingernails which JH would never have allowed his QB to ever do.

Bennett probably took some votes that would have gone to Corum and perhaps Stroud would have lost MW votes.

Just hope Blake is healthy for the spring camp on campus.

Not to mention way more than three RB's have won the award. It really wasn't until 2000 that QB's started to dominate the award, before that it was RB's. There have been 38 running backs and 3 fullbacks to win a Heisman along with 38 quarterbacks with 18 of them coming since 2000.

Hooker has more reason to be pissed IMO. I'm sorry, but once Edwards blew up against OSU and Purdue, it took some of the shine off Blake's great season.

But it's so tough for an RB to win. Still, if I had to draft an RB, give me Bijan Robinson.

I feel like this group is what you would expect from sports media of a bygone age - regionally biased and uncreative. I won't argue that they don't deserve to be there but it is too convenient to vote 4 QBs from the top teams.

It’s a weird trophy. If you have a guy on your team nominated, you obviously want him to win the Heisman. It gives a sense of pride to the program. Especially a guy like Corum who deserves it both on the field and off. On the other hand the Heisman is a pretty mediocre award at this point in its history.
