I personally love the white jersey/blue pants uniform combo. Confirmed via Michigan Football social media. Let’s go Blue!!

My hope is that each of the three sets of pants gets used at least once on the road.

I say that because blue is now a regular feature, and the maize duds looked good last year and they're back to stay again, but I still really like the white as an option.

(Also, note the "white accessories" remark, to which I am indifferent on the face. But it highlights something that is actually one of the most significant uniform features since they changed the paint consistency of the helmet--the use of colored accessories in volume. When they use the maize accessories with maize pants home or away the look is spectacular).

I will always maintain that pairing a bright color with another different bright color is a bad look.  Maize pants with white tops has always been something that bothered me about the away jerseys from my time as a youth watching Michigan football.

The blue pants are a great pairing with the white tops.  The white pants are not as cool but still work.  Maize and white makes absolutely no sense.

If memory serves we are something like 3-1 in these uniforms. The only loss being Georgia, a neutral site game.

wins, I believe, were Wisconsin, Maryland, and Iowa.

I personally think the blue pant uniforms are a gimmick that’s now overstayed it’s welcome. They were fun during last season especially because it was a player-driven culture shift that led to the confidence to win some of the toughest games. But the uniforms themselves are not that sharp and they feel like a lazy way to “add variety”. Hopefully they only use the blue pants once in the season, use the white pants once in the season, and then stick with the classic blue on Maize and white on Maize that have defined Michigan football uniforms forever (don’t mention adidas).

It would be cool if someone at the school could team up with Jordan brand to actually create a third jersey combo that relied on school history and tradition but also added some modern flairs that the team could use once a season. Plenty of other college teams are able to create a new Jersey that’s fresh, attractive, but doesn’t sacrifice the “look” of their team.

I agree the all white uni is also a gimmick, hence why I said they should wear it a maximum of one time in a season. The blue pants are bland and look mismatched. They are not the same hue as either the numbering or the helmet and it makes the jersey look like a poorly constructed mishmash. It screams “oh this is new let’s just throw it together”. It doesn’t look all that good. It’s better than all Maize though so you’ve got to give it that.

Not everything "old school" is great just because it's old school. When I first started watching Michigan football as an early elementary school kid in the late 1980s, I never liked the white jersey / maize pants combo, and that was before I ever knew how much better the blue pants looked. I like them as a permanent choice.

YES!!! Thank heavens Michigan finally tried the blue pants for away-games last year. They look better than the age-old maize pants. From now on, UM road games should always = blue pants.

For a moment, I thought we were confirming that WE should - collectively - wear blue pants tomorrow, and I was here to say that mine are being dry cleaned, but if it all possible, I will wear blue underwear that is in fact blue, not blue because of something that happened.

Imagine how relieved I was that I have no such requirement tomorrow.
