Best thing you saw: Week 10

I LIKE BIG JUGS AND I CANNOT LIE

What an incredible day of games.  So much awesome, it's too much to put it all in one place.  To the brief discussion...

Non-M: MSU-PSU was a great slugfest in which neither team leaned on their great backs enough.  Iowa did THAT.  Clemson-NC St, ISU-WVU, OU-OSU, Stan-WSU, and I owe YTM an apology - I posted earlier that I see them as a paper tiger.  They convincingly took care of business.  All that said, the best thing I saw non-M was college football.  Period.  It was so good in all the places.

M: The opening drive was a beauty.  The run game mauled.  Still, I'm going with the D - specifically Khaleke Hudson.  Dude was, well, a dude.  Looking forward to the continued growth of this young team the next couple weeks.

So...what you got?

OSU going to the black hole that is Kinnick Stadium and emerging on the other side as a whipped and broken shadow of its former self.

Will be interesting to see how they respond now. Their biggest goal of the season is officially off the table. They could still win the Big Ten, but that’s more like a consolation prize to them than anything else. Are they going to be motivated at all for the rest of the season?

I watched a fair amount of Wisc/Ind.  Wisc is very reliant on Jonathan Taylor.  If we can shut him down and make Hornibrook beat us thru the air, we have a very good shot at winning that game.  If Hornitbrook can do it, then I will tip my cap.  Peters is going to have to be able to have more passing game success, but it is a game we can certainly win.  Wisc has yet to see a defense like ours.

My big concern for that game is the Zebra's under the direction of Delaney hoping to keep Wisconsin's playoff hopes alive.

1. Both Karan Higdon and Chris Evans ran for more yards than Fleck

2. Seeing the 55 point expression on Urban Meyer's face

3. Knowing the PSU, MSU and OSU may end up with the same or worse record than Michigan.

4. PSU, MSU and OSU won't be in playoffs.

5. College football saturday is WAY better than NFL sundays.

with big holes and fast backs Higdon & Evans.  When Issac and Walker get back in, wow. Thought this was Michigan's best offensive game this year.  Preserved playbood for Wisky & OSU.

OSU took its second thrashing in less than 10.5 months (3rd official loss and 4th real loss in less than 1 yr. ), proving again karma is a bitch when refs steal a big game for you.   We have a good shot this year against them.

Khaleke Hudson!!  The last couple of weeks, it appears that Bush's forays into the backfield have been largely figured out.  How to remedy that?  Unleash Khaleke Hudson!!!  What a game he had!!  Very much reminded me of Jabrill Peppers - all over the field and living in Fleck's head!!

The run game continuing it's mauling ways even without Onwenu.  Ruiz looks like a keeper at center next year.  If the OT hype is real, and they're just above serviceable next year, that 2018 OL is gonna be righteous!

What a day around the country for college football!  It was a joy to watch all around...

The running game and OL is playing into form despite missing Ty Isaacs and Onwenu.

Karan Higdon and Chris Evans show that Michigan has indeed breakaway speed.

This defense is playing very well - and it is a young defense - will look even better in the years ahead.

The losses of PSU and OSU were due to QB play. In the Iowa game, there were 4 interceptions. Consider that this team is on its 3rd string QB.

Emotion clearly plays a bigger role in college football than pro football. On a very long night, cold and wet, once Michigan got up and showed no letting up.

Go Blue!

We had 2 Minnesota fans sitting a couple rows in front of us. They were chirping a lot early in the game before we wore the Gophers down and dominated. After we destroyed their offense at one point in the 2nd half and forced a punt, my son and I were smack talking them. He turned and said, "Dude, you only have 56 yards passing." My son chirped back "scoreboard" and I pointed out the 300+ rushing yards and told him no point in us passing when they couldn't stop the run. We scored on that next drive and they silently left the stadium....perfect moment for me and my son.

I loved seeing the return of the Train, especially because the sheer sight of it was apparently so discombobulating, that Fleck was forced to burn a time-out.

Tip of the hat to the Michigan crowd.

They showed up pretty well despite having to wait an extra hour in the cold, dark, November rain.

Can we end the silly narrative about how bad the Michigan fan base is?

delay, and no comfortable place for 100k fans to just hang out, and cold late night weather.   I watched an SDSU at Air Force game either this year after weather delay where only the recruits were left in the stands to watch the game and a few family and friends.
