What is the difference between Bama and PSU at this point? PSU has loses to 2 Top 5 teams, while Bama has losses to 2 Top 10 teams, but it seems like Bama is held in much higher regards than PSU.

I know you are focused on Ws and Ls, which obviously matter the most…but context is also key. PSU has lost to two top-10 teams, one at home and one on the road, by nearly 40 total points. Alabama has lost to two top-10 teams, both on the road, by a combined total of 4 points. Alabama also played a legit top-25 school on the road and won in non-conference (Texas). PSU scheduled a good non-con that they thought would likely be compelling, Auburn, but that win is looking less relevant by the week. I am not a fan of Bama as much as the next guy, but their aggregate resume this year seems better than PSU’s, in my opinion.

USC in the Top 10 is absolutely ridiculous.

Zero wins against the T25

Have given up nearly 1,900 yards (!!) in their last 3 games.  In comparison, Michigan has given up 2,002 yards this entire 9 game season.

They have 3 one score wins against Arizona, Cal and Oregon State.

I think it’s going to be hard to get two SEC teams in this year unless Georgia loses to LSU in the SEC championship. Should that happen the CFP might take LSU with two losses. They probably will but I think Tennessee did themselves no favors yesterday. It’s LSU or bust for the second team at this point.

That’s a stacked top 10.  Can’t recall this level of top ten parity / depth in recent years.   Feel like any of these teams could beat any other, save maybe Georgia, who’s a cut above.

On a neutral field, UM would be favored over every team in the country, except Georgia.

UM will be #3 in the CFP on Tuesday.  UM deserves to be #2 in the CFP.

The fact the 22 out of 62 voters put Clemson in the top ten is...

...ahem... disturbing.

Mike Barber, John Wilner, and Adam Cole, all have Clemson as a top 10 team but Notre Damn as unranked.

I hate ND as much as the next guy, but Clemson absolutely embarrassed by them last night, so either one thinks ND is a great team so the loss shouldn't drop Clemson very much or that Clemson flat out ducks sucks. Some of these voters need to read the memo that these votes are for 2022-23 football.

The guy that has Tennessee 2 obviously did not watch that game. If Georgia hadn’t gone conservative to run down the clock in the second half, it might’ve been at least a three score if not four score game.

Keep winning by double digits. Have a better first half and stellar second half. No need to worry with play like that. Being ranked 3rd is OK, it means that were in a playoff berth before the Nov 26th showdown at the Shoe.

In the meantime, put a beatdown against Nebraska next. Maybe Michigan can hang 50 pts on them and that will look great.

Hopefully we'll be healthy in 3 weeks

I have no problem being 3..... actually glad OSU is ahead of us... gives our guys a mental edge heading into the game, right now I'd say we are even with OSU

As far as the CFP is concerned:

The ACC is pretty much done unless Clemson goes on a tear to end the season and crushes everyone. Given how they’ve played so far that’s extremely unlikely.

The B12, if tcu loses at any point is done. If they win out they are in. No other teams to speak of in that conference.

The P12 has a good shot if either Oregon or usc win out. Chaos could happen, though, and it isn’t too far fetched to see Utah winning the conference, in which case the P12 is done.

The SEC will get one team in regardless of any chaos happening and is the most likely to get two teams in, though that isn’t a given now. If Tennessee falters against South Carolina and Georgia wins out, they are only getting one team in, even if ole miss somehow pulls an upset and beats Alabama and ends with an 11-1 record.

The B1G has a shot at two teams in, but needs both OSU and Michigan to blast their next two opponents and end the year in a close, one score game decided in the last minute.

Things that should NOT happen are:

-Tennessee at 11-1 getting in over a P12 champion Oregon at 12-1. Both got dominated by Georgia but one would be a P5 champ with a 12 game winning streak.

-A one loss B12 or ACC champ getting in over an 11-1 Tennessee or an 11-1 OSU/Michigan.

-3 SEC teams getting in if LSU wins out with an 11-1 Tennessee and a 12-1 Georgia, ESPECIALLY with an 11-1 OSU or Michigan in the mix.

I know I am very biased towards Michigan and obviously, hate Ohio...but I just don't understand why they continue to be put #2? I know we don't really have any legit apples-to-apples comparisons since we played Iowa away, PSU home, and Rutgers away (Ohio did the opposite for all three) - but I'd argue that we looked better in each game and dominated the opponents more than Ohio did? Iowa gifted Ohio the ball half a dozen times and Ohio consistently had great field position. We all saw how the Penn State/Ohio game went where they definitely could've lost. And then Rutgers, they were up big at half, but the final scores still ended up being similar and from comparing the stats for each game, I'd argue we did a better job. We also both have similarly weak strength of schedules. The only thing I'm seeing where Ohio is a legit #2 team is their scary ability to put points up quickly. Might be better than anyone else in the country at it, but then they lay duds at Northwestern. I don't get it. End rant.
