No hate for the players, who have been given an untenable situation, but time to clean house. Now that Sanderson is gone, I can say without a doubt that nobody currently involved with the men's basketball program should be associated with the program next year. Next year is going to be ass regardless, at least build towards something fun to watch

You would think if Juwan had any respect from his players they would at least show more effort to finish the season.  Instead, it's gotten progressively worse.

This is the worst Michigan team EVER.  Pathetic.

Coach Howard inspired me to look up the meaning of the term, “swan song.”

a farewell appearance or final act or pronouncement.

Yep, I got that one right.

The Cock halftime crew mocking and laughing at our play, and lack of care/effort. Someone tell these jokers this is what we’ve seen all fucking year.

Halftime stats of note:

Turnovers: M 11, PSU 4

Rebounds: M 25, PSU 17

3PT: M 3-12, PSU 4-9

2PT: M 4-17, PSU 6-18

Given F___s: 0

Not watching here, but I saw the game thread had a lot of posts. Kinda like a Tiger game I went to decades ago. Tigers were playing an rainy, unpleasant game against the Yankees. Down about ten runs in the ninth, Larry Herndon came to the plate with two outs.

All of a sudden, the "Larry, Larry" chant erupts, as loud as in any game back then. He had to step out of the box, he was laughing so hard. Didn't help extend the game, though.

Remember the time Wisconsin ran the ball 27 straight times against us and as a fan you felt demoralized? Well that’s how I feel watching our basketball team, their complete failure to even resemble organized basketball is demoralizing.

We playing man to man tied at 20 ( playing great d ) then Juwan goes zone and they go on 10-0 run right away . Coaching blunder again . Duggy mcBagel with big 0 at half

So...let's talk film. I thought both Oppenheimer AND Barbie were highly overrated. Oppenheimer felt less like a film and more like a three hour trailer for a forty-eight hour film about the life of Robert Oppenheimer. That's a problem biopics often have--capturing too big a stretch of time, which means you can't really go into any aspect of a person's life in sufficient depth. I prefer depth to the shallow dive Nolan gives us in that.

As for Barbie...I came into it WANTING a feminist critique of the patriarchy. I've done feminist reads for papers and have taught feminist theory. But Barbie didn't really critique any real world patriarchy. It felt more like a toy company using the tenets of 2nd wave feminism to sell toys. As a 57 year old hetero Black male, I am probably not the target audience, but I still wish it was the film I was sold on.

Anyway...Michigan basketball...2nd half.
