And now, the end is near, and so I face that final curtain...B1G tournament opener open thread
Michigan vs. Penn State
Starting now, on the 'Cock, if you dare...
“Yeah it’s over now.”
- Alice in Chains
Announcers acting like they have never seen the auto-bench.
Low turnover rate and defensive excellence! Michigan hallmarks under Juwan. Great getting your guard hand up-not
Indiana watching this game and no doubt shitting their pants
We are winning the turn over battle
Burnett was not OOB
I'm not sure he established being inbounds.
This reminds me of when I wanted them to cancel LA Law so I wouldn’t have to watch it anymore.
Okay. HOW do you not know where the line is but start with your foot out of bounds?
Laughable play from this team.
The worst passing and general fundamentals I've ever seen from an M squad in my 50+ years of fandom and it makes me so sad.
No field goals in 5 minutes. Oh my.
Is Warde at the game? Is he ever?
I’m not sure he was at senior day.
Can you blame him? Who would voluntarily go to one of these games?
11 turnovers in the first half. Great coaching Juwan.
Unless there are some great adjustments, this is quite the statement game for the shape of this program.
Considering Juwan was talking about the off-season and what changes they were gonna make for next year the other day, I’d say they probably weren’t too invested in this game. Hard to define which game exactly would be the statement game under Juwan.
And Warde should make a statement but telling Juwan we’re making a change with the basketball program starting with you!
Oh come on, at least be standing inbounds! Turnover Extravaganza! 25% on 2s and 3s! On pace for new record low score in BTT!
Juwan is all about setting records, just not the type of records we want
We are better than the fifteenth ranked big ten team. Bet
PATHETIC. Juwan Howard HAS TO GO
Warde ain’t listening to that shit. Howard is shocking the world though. That’s good
Burnett hitting three 3’s from his slow set shot position seems to be the only highlight

When he can stay inbounds or not take three steps prior to shooting.
No different from then any other game, no game coaching from Juwan
This team is just horrid to watch. The coaching staff has fixed nothing since December. As a group, they do nothing well.
Just not true. Defensive rotations have improved dramatically.
Wretched shooting, unforced TOs and fouls trouble. Woof.
will make that comeback more sweet?

...and they all lived happily ever after.
No hate for the players, who have been given an untenable situation, but time to clean house. Now that Sanderson is gone, I can say without a doubt that nobody currently involved with the men's basketball program should be associated with the program next year. Next year is going to be ass regardless, at least build towards something fun to watch
And this time if a coach gets glowing endorsements from NBA players pass!
You would think if Juwan had any respect from his players they would at least show more effort to finish the season. Instead, it's gotten progressively worse.
This is the worst Michigan team EVER. Pathetic.

Fucking bingo
Coach Howard inspired me to look up the meaning of the term, “swan song.”
a farewell appearance or final act or pronouncement.
Yep, I got that one right.
The Cock halftime crew mocking and laughing at our play, and lack of care/effort. Someone tell these jokers this is what we’ve seen all fucking year.

This game is so bad they are only running two Tic TOC ads and the B1G ad. No one would pay to be associated with this shit.

Halftime stats of note:
Turnovers: M 11, PSU 4
Rebounds: M 25, PSU 17
3PT: M 3-12, PSU 4-9
2PT: M 4-17, PSU 6-18
Given F___s: 0
Not watching here, but I saw the game thread had a lot of posts. Kinda like a Tiger game I went to decades ago. Tigers were playing an rainy, unpleasant game against the Yankees. Down about ten runs in the ninth, Larry Herndon came to the plate with two outs.
All of a sudden, the "Larry, Larry" chant erupts, as loud as in any game back then. He had to step out of the box, he was laughing so hard. Didn't help extend the game, though.

Did the plane fail to take off? Practice jerseys?

Remember the time Wisconsin ran the ball 27 straight times against us and as a fan you felt demoralized? Well that’s how I feel watching our basketball team, their complete failure to even resemble organized basketball is demoralizing.

I was at Michigan Stadium for that one.

I feel for you, watching it on tv was bad enough!

So was I and felt the same way.

if we had a real AD, juwan would be fired as he stepped off the plane at willow run.
but that'd be a

We playing man to man tied at 20 ( playing great d ) then Juwan goes zone and they go on 10-0 run right away . Coaching blunder again . Duggy mcBagel with big 0 at half

What options do you have when your 3 (4 with injury) biggest players are on the bench with foul trouble?
March 13th, 2024 at 10:03 PM ^
Dug and his ofer.
Tell me you're checked out without telling me you're checked out

So...let's talk film. I thought both Oppenheimer AND Barbie were highly overrated. Oppenheimer felt less like a film and more like a three hour trailer for a forty-eight hour film about the life of Robert Oppenheimer. That's a problem biopics often have--capturing too big a stretch of time, which means you can't really go into any aspect of a person's life in sufficient depth. I prefer depth to the shallow dive Nolan gives us in that.
As for Barbie...I came into it WANTING a feminist critique of the patriarchy. I've done feminist reads for papers and have taught feminist theory. But Barbie didn't really critique any real world patriarchy. It felt more like a toy company using the tenets of 2nd wave feminism to sell toys. As a 57 year old hetero Black male, I am probably not the target audience, but I still wish it was the film I was sold on.
Anyway...Michigan basketball...2nd half.
