Lol, it's not all on Howard. His reaction sure but you are out of your damn mind if you don't think Wisconsin played their part in escalation with the grab by Gard and then more importantly the assistant coming in to instigate and shoving Faulds and then putting his hands on Williams.

Maybe Warde is waiting for the Big Ten/NCAA to suspend Juwan first so it is easier to fire him for cause?

In either case, IMO, he should be fired and replaced in 2022-23 with Crean (option 1) or Beilein for a couple years [and then Crean] (option 2).

He's certainly not going to come right out and say so a few hours after the incident.  And he rightly is not going to take ANY action until he and his staff have had a chance to review the incident thoroughly, talk to everyone involved, and determine what was SAID (which is not part of the video).

And he shouldn't be fired.

Was it uncalled for, a bad look, below the position that he holds, and a black eye on the program? ABSOLUTELY

Should he be suspended? 100%

Fired? That's throwing the baby out with bathwater. He open handed slapped another coach. If he had hit a player, I would be more inclined to believe Warde (and I would support this) would certainly fire him.

Alumni here.  My two cents, which are probably worth less than that:

He should be fired.

He is in one of the two most visible roles for the University (football and men’s basketball head coaches). He is supposed to lead young men, is insanely well paid, and should be held to a higher (not lower) standard than others.

He should be fired.

It’s like Bobby Knight or Woody Hayes. Not acceptable.

I'm an alum (white and middle aged FWIW).   Coach Juwan clearly needs to deeply consider how his actions impact UM, the team, and his tenure at his dream job.   However I would be very disappointed if he were terminated for this incident.  He's a good man, he is an inspiring leader especially for Black athletes, and he's still the best person to lead our MBB program. I predict, we will all see a more composed person going forward.  In a year this will be a minor footnote.

So there is no intent to hold Howard and the players to same standard displayed towards other coaches and players in  the B10 and the nation?

That would be shameful.
