Two new crystal balls from Ace for both Drew Kendall and Donovan Edwards.

Drew Edwards is the #78 overall national recruit and #4 OG

Donovan Edwards is #22 overall national recruit and #2 RB

Let's hope Ace is right!!

Ace doesn't have any inside info. He deduces based on what other insiders are reporting. I'm not saying this to slam him, just putting it into perspective.

Drew Kendall's other top schools: BC, Virginia, and Duke. We should be able to close on him as we can offer the academics but a huge advantage on the football side of things. Guess we'll find out

Considering what (who) both have brought to Ann Arbor, I'd say Jay is as good a recruiter as Partridge.  They coach different sides, but they've both been very successful in both field coaching and recruiting.  I wish Partridge had stayed another year, though...

I think Jay is simultaneously the most criticized coach and the coach least deserving of criticism.

He's been an excellent recruiter and evaluator of talent.

His position groups have performed excellently.

His wife is attractive, so he could work for James Franklin one day.

I have never had a criticism for Jay, he's been really great here.

Yup. I know you said his position groups have been good, but to add on to that, he took over special teams duties when John Baxter left, and special teams improved in 2016 over what Baxter achieved in 2015. So it's not just individual position groups; it's entire units that have been improved under his direction.

People who are critical of Jay Harbaugh should not be relied upon for accurate assessments.

Actually, he started out in staff roles before "jumping into a college assistant coaching job"; undergrad staffer at Oregon St and quality control analyst with the Baltimore Ravens.

Notable head coaches who never played college football: Mike Leach, David Cutcliffe, Adam Gase, Vic Fangio, Charlie Weis, Paul Johnson, Sonny Dykes. And then you have someone like Belichick who played at D3 Wesleyan. So I don't know how relevant the playing experience argument is.

But yeah, leave it to WD to complain about something

We should only care about the players he recruited who have produced on the field.....

Incase you missed it...  Michigan has been incredibly disappointing these last 3 years.  So what exactly has jay done that were happy about?

Agree.  Absolutely people can be critical and should be about anyone in such positions, but not ALL nepotism is inherently wrong or leads to sub-optimal results.  Jay Harbaugh seems like a really solid coach (which makes sense given his lineage) and has been a really good recruiter for them.

If Michigan whiffs in these two, it’s because Harbaugh’s staff is terrible at recruiting.

On the other hand, if Michigan gets these two, it’ll be because Ohio State and Notre Dame passed on them.

Now excuse me while I go torture mice in my basement.

Kendall is really, really good. Like, "first round draft pick potential" good. Needs some beef, but the athleticism and nastiness is elite.

We all know how much of a must get Edwards is.

OL class of Davidkov, Spindler, Crippen, Kendall, and El-Hadi would be excellent. Four out of 5 OL kids in the top 100 would be crazy good.

I was actually wondering about the beef. Kendall is a really highly rated prospect for a guard, despite the fact that he's currently listed at 255. His 247 profile mentions that he has the ability to add 25 pounds, right after it projects him as a 2nd round NFL draft pick. But it's difficult to imagine a 280-pound guard going in the 2nd round of the NFL draft.

Do you see him gaining 50-60 pounds? Being effective at 280-290?

I’m sure we will get him to 300. I would also guess that he weighs more than 255 now. That I probably what he weighed during his junior season. If he gets the chance to do a camp later this summer or an all-Star game, I would bet he gets an updated, heavier weight.

If he came to Michigan a lean 270, we would have no problem getting him to 300 during a redshirt year.
