Ace crystal balls both Drew Kendall (#4 OG via 247) and Donovan Edwards (#2 RB via 247) to UofM
*IF* they can reel in this class this team is going to be absolutely loaded on the OL for the foreseeable future. I know people were down on last year's class, but I think Persi and Zinter are going to be good players. Combine that with the 2019 haul and Warriner's gonna have a lot of tools in the toolbox.
I think Persi is a stud. Non-problematic Taylor Lewan.
Warinner has been a much better recruiter than advertised. He’s loaded up the cupboard on the OL.
Yeah, hard to argue with his results on the recruiting trail. I will say, I'm still a little surprised I haven't heard any noise about Trente Jones yet. He was the guy I was most excited about in that class, but it seems like Carpenter and Barnhart have jumped to the head of the class.
A first round guard? That’d be pretty sweet!
IOL go in the first round with regularity. There have been 11 IOL drafted in the first round of the draft over the last 5 drafts, but 6 in the last 2 drafts. Defenses have figured out that interior pass rush is key to disrupting the more pass-heavy offenses, so teams are starting to counter by going after elite interior OL. I think the trend of interior linemen being drafted earlier and earlier will continue.
Not making a prediction, just think that's the kind of ceiling this kid has. Good genes, his film is great, he's lean not sloppy...he would be a fantastic pickup.
We sure need some good news on recruiting front. No disrespect intended for other recruits but top rated talent gives me a bit more hope of future success.
Iron sharpens iron. Having more elite guys on the team gives the more developmental players a better target for improvement and more time to get there.
This will disappoint the concern trolls.
Don Brown is the MVP of Massachusetts recruiting. Wish we could find the FL, CA, and TX equivalent.
Northeast recruiting
For the frothier maizens among us, here's a ray of light: apparently we offered Edwards when he was a freshman, the first school to do so. That means we identified the #2 RB in the country super early and were the first to be proactive in the recruitment. Sounds like they did a decent job with the recruitment?
"It was Michigan," Edwards said. "April 17 of my freshman year."
The date will forever be etched into Edwards' memory.
"It's like my hometown giving me my first offer so that's like a pretty big deal to me," Edwards said. "I wasn't really expecting it. I had been there a couple times when I was really young."
Michigan has done as awesome of identifying elite talent early. I don’t think anyone complains about that.
I, too, am blue in Byron center. (Live off 92nd.)

Starting to look like a stellar OL recruiting year! Definitely lead for Dividokov, but need Spindler badly... Would be nice to see some recruits for defense though... Any insight with that side of the ball?
