This NIL rights debate is a double edged sword. Letting college athletes be paid for their likenesses is one thing, but when all the minor NCAA sports have limits on the number of scholarships allowed, this tarnishes the image they are trying to project for equality in college athletics.
A prime example is the UM baseball team that made it to the NCAA finals in 2019. They were allowed 11 ½ scholarships. Some players qualified for academic scholarships, the rest split the remaining sum into equal parts, meaning they all paid partial tuition.
Also the Covid crisis last year saw many institutions dropping several of their unprofitable minor sports.
Not to mention that the profits generated by the major sports provide the necessary infrastructure for these "lesser" sports.
So I'm not sure that giving the money to some star athletes in the major sports, while other athletes see their sport disappear or must pay partial tuition, is in the best interest of amateur athletics.
This is one angle that wasn't even mentioned in the Supreme Court debate and is nowhere to be found in Emmert's time zone !
Might be better to add an advanced meteorology department, as it's more a problem of not taking off or flying through storms, than it is a problem strictly with mechanics.

The back to backs don't make any logical sense, as it will be impossible to make up all the missed games.
So how to decide which games to make up, not to mention the fact that teams will already be be playing back to backs in the tournament. How will the commissioner justify running one of the favorites into the ground, before the showcase tournament???

In the latest 247 team rankings, UM has moved up to #10 with Benny & Iwunnah now signed and still waiting on Rooks official letter. We could possibly jump ND with Rooks, as only a half of point separates the two teams.
Also MSU is now down to #48.

Looking at the BB schedule, there is only one week where UM BB doesn't have 2 games scheduled before the B1G tournament. So only one game can be made up.
And these cancellations are the relative cupcake part of the remaining schedule.
After the 14 day layoff, we have to run the gauntlet of :

OSU
Iowa
MSU
No idea of what this means for what this means for the B1G or NCAA tournament seedings, as many teams have missed an unequal number contests.
The NCAA has ruled that the 2020/2021 is a free year in college sports - eligibility wise. Rosters next year can go over limits. So all seniors can come beck. It will be more a question of a crowded roster & playing time.

Went back and figured out the formula for 247 rankings and the top 4 UM recruits average 0.9891, which is better than Duke's 0.9845.
The rest is gravy.
So that's the way we should look at it ;o)

So there is still a lot of fluidity in seeding. Better to take care of what's in our control and let the cards fall where they may.
What really counts is the seeding brackets. If UM stays at #2 that would logically mean that they have to go thru Baylor and Gonzaga.
The Zags don't have any real threats in their conference tourney so they should stay at #1.
