Ace crystal balls both Drew Kendall (#4 OG via 247) and Donovan Edwards (#2 RB via 247) to UofM
Ace Aced it!!!
(I hope)
Wow, it would be great to get the Edwards brothers! Kendall is Drew's middle name right?
One is Braylon's son. The other is Braylon's son too pending a DNA test?
s/
Wait, Donovan isn't actually Braylon's kid right? Is he that old? AM I THAT OLD?
He was conceived the night of the MSU comeback game. wasn't that 2004 ish?
I was at the MF game! Easily one of the most memorable games I've ever seen
LOL. It's my first post and not sure how to edit. Whatever, it's f'n good news!
WELCOME! YOU CAN'T EDIT OPs! DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT! IT'S A KNOWN PROBLEM BUT NOT AS EASILY SOLVED AS PRESSING CAPS LOCK A SECOND TIME, SADLY.
Ace doesn't have any inside info. He deduces based on what other insiders are reporting. I'm not saying this to slam him, just putting it into perspective.
ooohhhhh snap! Sick burn. Wait I just read your second sentence. Shit. Fine be reasonable.
If his picks serve as a summary of what insiders are reporting, and he CB's a guy, that still sounds pretty good.
my understanding as well (which is fine, love Ace's content!). Still I think this is reasonably good news because he is pretty judicious with his balls and probably means he got some intel in favor of Michigan's chances. Good news nonetheless!

You teed the balls right up, but I'm not going to touch them. Judicious is good, though.
Drew Kendall's other top schools: BC, Virginia, and Duke. We should be able to close on him as we can offer the academics but a huge advantage on the football side of things. Guess we'll find out
His dad went to BC and played there. Experts still have us behind them, but Michigan I think still has a good chance because well...they're BC.
Edwards and Edwards...
If we get Donovan Edwards, everyone should shut up about Jaybaugh.
People should be doing that anyway. He's consistently been one of the better recruiters on the staff and seems to hold his own on the coaching front, too.
He’s no Partridge, but he’s doing a pretty good job recruiting.
Considering what (who) both have brought to Ann Arbor, I'd say Jay is as good a recruiter as Partridge. They coach different sides, but they've both been very successful in both field coaching and recruiting. I wish Partridge had stayed another year, though...
Have you seem Jay's wife?
I hadn't and just googled it.
Wow!
Jay out kicked his punt coverage.
I think Jay is simultaneously the most criticized coach and the coach least deserving of criticism.
He's been an excellent recruiter and evaluator of talent.
His position groups have performed excellently.
His wife is attractive, so he could work for James Franklin one day.
I have never had a criticism for Jay, he's been really great here.
Yup. I know you said his position groups have been good, but to add on to that, he took over special teams duties when John Baxter left, and special teams improved in 2016 over what Baxter achieved in 2015. So it's not just individual position groups; it's entire units that have been improved under his direction.
People who are critical of Jay Harbaugh should not be relied upon for accurate assessments.
100%
Yeah, weird:
Or...
Actually, he started out in staff roles before "jumping into a college assistant coaching job"; undergrad staffer at Oregon St and quality control analyst with the Baltimore Ravens.
Notable head coaches who never played college football: Mike Leach, David Cutcliffe, Adam Gase, Vic Fangio, Charlie Weis, Paul Johnson, Sonny Dykes. And then you have someone like Belichick who played at D3 Wesleyan. So I don't know how relevant the playing experience argument is.
But yeah, leave it to WD to complain about something
Jedd Fisch was this board's favorite and he played tennis instead of football.
I agree, at this point it should be clear as day to anyone looking at it objectively. Jay Harbaugh has demonstrated (despite the nepotism) he is a good coach and excellent recruiter. Very valuable member of the coaching staff.
We should only care about the players he recruited who have produced on the field.....
Incase you missed it... Michigan has been incredibly disappointing these last 3 years. So what exactly has jay done that were happy about?
Agree. Absolutely people can be critical and should be about anyone in such positions, but not ALL nepotism is inherently wrong or leads to sub-optimal results. Jay Harbaugh seems like a really solid coach (which makes sense given his lineage) and has been a really good recruiter for them.
What about H A R B A U G H???
UGA just got a commit at runningback. Probably helps us
Best news of the day so far!
Need Spindler.
This would be good news!
I assume he did Edwards because UGA just took a RB and that was Michigan’s main competition.
Phrasing!

Did you presume the first post?
The way OL recruiting has been going, in two years we might see Donovan Edwards and 10 OL on the field.
If Michigan whiffs in these two, it’s because Harbaugh’s staff is terrible at recruiting.
On the other hand, if Michigan gets these two, it’ll be because Ohio State and Notre Dame passed on them.
Now excuse me while I go torture mice in my basement.
xoxoxo,

Dazn5 would like a word with you!!!
"must mean Ohio State, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Lawrence Tech all think he's embarrassingly terrible at football, that's the only reason he is going to Michigan"
- Maizen
I have heard that brian also has access to ace's crystal ball. I would like clarification bc I know nothing and only read things.
Kendall is really, really good. Like, "first round draft pick potential" good. Needs some beef, but the athleticism and nastiness is elite.
We all know how much of a must get Edwards is.
OL class of Davidkov, Spindler, Crippen, Kendall, and El-Hadi would be excellent. Four out of 5 OL kids in the top 100 would be crazy good.
I was actually wondering about the beef. Kendall is a really highly rated prospect for a guard, despite the fact that he's currently listed at 255. His 247 profile mentions that he has the ability to add 25 pounds, right after it projects him as a 2nd round NFL draft pick. But it's difficult to imagine a 280-pound guard going in the 2nd round of the NFL draft.
Do you see him gaining 50-60 pounds? Being effective at 280-290?
He's probably never going to be the biggest guy, but he should be able to get up in that 300 pound range eventually. He'll never be Mike Onwenu. He could be Mason Cole.
I’m sure we will get him to 300. I would also guess that he weighs more than 255 now. That I probably what he weighed during his junior season. If he gets the chance to do a camp later this summer or an all-Star game, I would bet he gets an updated, heavier weight.
If he came to Michigan a lean 270, we would have no problem getting him to 300 during a redshirt year.
Joe Thomas who was a multi-year all-pro LT for the Browns retired and no longer in training, dropped to around 255 lbs. So it should be possible.
