Oh, it was very much at Kinnick. A car of four individuals, myself included, made the trek from west Michigan to Iowa City. Things started out loose and full of nervous excitement on a Friday afternoon and ended with six hours of mostly silent driving on an otherwise nondescript Sunday.

haha nice.  I think many that made the trek had that unfortunate car ride back to Michigan.

I'm actually just north of Iowa City and if I'm not mistaken that was my first missed vs-Michigan game I've missed since the 90s (middle school) so that's why I confuse myself with that being an away game as I typically would've been at Kinnick (to top my confusion off, I actually went down to the MGoBlog meet-n-greet and drove back home for the game).

7:30 night game to open the year is awesome but also sucks because I’m gonna be so damn anxious all day because it’s basically the opener for college football.

For some really old guys, they still sound rather good.  Pete is still great on the guitar, but what really impressed me was how his voice has matured over the last decade or so.  No, he can't hit the high notes like he used to (who can?), but the gravelly texture he now adds when he's singing lead is nothing short of awesome.

I wish they would just finally name Zak Starkey and Simon Townshend full members of The Who.  Simon has been with them in some capacity I believe back to the 70's, and Zak has proven to be almost a clone of Keith Moon on the drums ever since he essentially took over for Kenny Jones.

First concert I've seen at the Pizzarena.  They definitely got the acoustics right compared to most large venues.

That Notre Dame game is going to be ESPNs marquee game. I’d imagine it’ll be a night game and probably will be the Gameday host. Super pumped for that night.

Just awful.  Warde giveth and Warde taketh away.  MTSU is a night game, but Wisconsin and Iowa are at noon?  Boo.  Maybe ND will still be at night?

That’s his fault too dang it. He should boycott the Big Ten until we only have home games. What a pushover. In fact, we should just fire Warde for being a pushover and then leave the  Big Ten and that will show everyone! And then we’ll tell the networks what time Michigan wants to play because THIS IS MICHIGAN.

I can’t remeber ever missing a game as a student - through all my tours in A2. Today’s kids ... I shake my head. Social media, video games, and general lack of enthusiasm for sports. It is fascinating.

I like noon games. I like seeing the end of the 3:30 games and the night games.

7:30 MTSU is weird but being that it is August, that may be OK. I can roast the next week.

I see they’re holding back the start time for the Rutger game... the suspense is going to kill me for the next 3 months!

I love noon games.  A (very valid) reason to have a drink in hand at 6am, nap at 4, wake up for the end of the 3:30 games and watch the night games.

For my family life with 2 kids under 5- noon or night is ideal so I’m all for this.  3:30 is terrible because it’s past nap time and right through dinner and often runs into early bedtime.

Nooners I can start at 1 or so on DVR and catch up live in the 3rd quarter.  Night I can watch in peace live.

As a night owl, I personally despise noon games. I’ll loose half a night of sleep every noon game. Sucks for me but whatever. How is this good for a national program when half your games are 9 am for for the west coast?

Opener at night is gonna be stressful and weird. No complaints otherwise as I am team 90% noon games and this follows that. Only one that I want to be a night game better be ND. MSU should be a 3:30.

I'm thrilled with the noon starts. And to be totally honest, I'm happy with the Middle Tennessee night game, and also the probability that ND is a night game. Many of the noon games I can go to. And the night games I can enjoy at home with a huge HD TV and a barbecue and some friends.

The Iowa game is homecoming, I'm kinda surprised it's at noon.  Isn't that usually a 3:30 start in order to get more activities done before the game?

Whatever the case, FUCK Iowa.  Please beat them by 7 touchdowns.  About 20 different things had to go perfectly right for them in order to get that kick off in 2016 and they ALL happened.   Then because having Rutgers and Maryland in the conference is sooooooo important we have to wait three years to get revenge.  Fuck Iowa.

Fuck the rivals and fuck Penn State goes without saying.   But Fuck Iowa too.

Michigan has the largest alumni base, which is spread out globally.  To me, keeping with this noon “tradition” is asinine and hurts the many fans that live on the west coast or abroad.

As a west coast resident, I enjoy noon eastern (9 AM CA) games.  Gets the day off to a great start and allows me to get stuff done before the marquee games at 5 PM CA time.  That being said, we plan to see ND and OSU in person.  Last home game we attended was MSU at night during torrential rain storm and bad outcome.  Hoping ND at night is the opposite experience.

As a season ticketholder, I'm a big fan of noon games.  You go to the game and still have the day to do other stuff, or watch other games.  It's surprisingly easy to go to eat after them.

3:30 games take up your whole day, and afterwards, every restaurant in town is packed.

Night games have a cool atmosphere but are a pain in the ass to attend.  Traffic afterward is horrid.

I prefer 3:30 games, more time in the AM to make your way to the tailgate, then dinner after the game. Actually the night game to start the year is ok with me. Weather will be 85 during the day, so I will do summer things early in the day, then head to the stadium. Holiday weekend allows sleeping in the next two days

Noon games automatically kill a day of shit getting done around the house.  I don’t want to start anything in the morning before the game or start anything at 330-400 in the afternoon.  I will give my wife the heads up now so she can start planing for absolutely nothing getting done these days.  Thanks OP!

I will probably have to watch a replay of almost every game because of my son's football and/or basketball games, my daughter's softball and/or volleyball games or church.
