Do you want to recruit the best from every state, like UofM has or do you want in-state schools to "lock them down" which means no Gary, Solomon, Bush, Ruiz, etc.

The fact that the state of Mi has had an unusual amount of top talent this past few years is making it seem worse because top 100 players more often go to top10 programs, especially places where the academic path of least resistence exists and UofM isn't that place.

Fact is, State of Mi recruiting will probably regress toward the mean in the next few years while Ga and Fla will always have more talent in them than top15 programs to "lock down".

Come on, George. You don't really want to go to Purdue. Our defensive coordinator is crazy but he's not psychotic. Also, I want a d line of George and Julius. Make it so.

Why isn't the staff prioritizing Lance Dixon? .. He is a perfect fit and replacement for Hudson at Viper. Might I add he is in our own damn backyard..

From everything I've read they are. He just likes PSU and Wisconsin more at the moment. Going to need to go all put for him over the next few months. He's deciding in August.

So Maizen, are you happier M picked up Barnhart and want them to drop pursuit of Herrod now?  Must be hard to live by rankings that fluctuate so much.

Stephon Herron seems to be dropping like a rock recruiting rankings wise.

We need a good year on the field so bad, this class doesn't have a ton of top talent left that has big interest in Michigan. If we don't win 10 games and beat a rival or two probably going to finish with a class closer to 20th than in the top 10 just like last year

Not compalining, pointing out a ranking movement in a ranking movement thread. Going from a top 20 five star kid to inside the top 100 overall isn't a positive thing however you want to spin it. 247 doesn't have him in their top 100 either, wouldn't be shocked to see him drop out as other recruiting services update. He could still be a great player, but recruiting rankings have shown time and again to be mostly accurate so him dropping isn't a good sign.

Recruiting rankings have shown time and time again to be mostly accurate if you take an entire class ranking and use the top couple to predict who the top couple teams are.  Recruiting rankings are highly inaccurate on a player by player basis, much like NFL draft position.

It really sucks it looks like we aren't getting Noah Cain or Quavaris Crouch. They seemed so high on us early on and I thought we would at least get one.

Let's take a quick breather from killing each other over whether we're doing a good job in-state or not and give the staff some props for how quickly they moved Barnhart from a State lean to a Blue commit. Based on his camps and the giant rankings bump, I think we have a stud coming in

There are professional hired negative vibers that troll our board daily. Trust me if there’s something negative in recruiting on this board you can bet your mortgage that a bluey colored ak will shoot across the bow every time. Rodas has recently gained steam and his interest and his crystal ball readings are pointing towards Michigan! There are some people in here that would never comment on anything positive that our coach(es) are doing and that’s cyclical.

I’m glad to see this recruiting thread going exactly as planned. People bitch about not recruiting Michigan hard enough. Same people ignore we have the 8th ranked class. Same people, when pointed out we have 8th ranked class, day wait until signing day and we won’t be there. Same people only care that signing day is a long ways away to push the negative storyline, also completely ignoring that we have plenty of time before signing day to sign good players. Wash. Rinse. Repeat

on dobbs. I have watched him play in person and on film, and I can honestly say he is not that impressive. All the crying ranking fiends on here are just looking at the fifth star he holds. Stars really fool people. 2016 I watched MSU WR Cody White play in high school and he tore up the opposing teams, it then translated to MSU as a freshman. Talent is talent, and the in pads eye test is much more telling than a no pads camp setting with all reps being 1on1's. I trust a veteran coaches scouting report versus a journalists camp based/highlight based ranking. These recruting sites may get a few of these players right but they may only get to one quarter or less of football per these players to justify and collect their opinions of them.

I agree with you. It's all about their stupid camps and what not.. I was actually reading into some of the most dominant units in CFB this upcoming season and one the units that came up was Georgia DB's. I kid you not all of those guys were very low to mid 3 stars in HS. Stars do matter but it all comes down to the film. Most times you'll be able to just watch the film and instantly realize how good a player is, ala Khaleke Hudson, Jonathan Taylor, etc...

Wanted Karliftis ever since Blue Ballz posted this article a year ago.  Mom is a 3-sport athlete in HS and Dad was a track and football star at Miami (YTM). Kid is fairly new to football having lived in Greece until he was 13.

Shouldn't the thread title be:

OT: Recruit Fanboys 247 rankings update to prove our agenda by cherry picking things for the expressed reason to show that Harbaugh is losing Mi, can't recruit and has stinky farts!
