#1 prospect in 2019, SDE--Bama signee enters Transfer Portal.

#1 overall prospect in the 2019 class, Antonio Alfonso from New Jersey is looking to transfer from Bama.

Saban supposedly called out his performance or lack thereof in a press conference, and here you have it.

Never can have too many Stong-side Defensive Ends, but you can sure have too few. I always wondered who backed up Gary in '17. We had to switch Chase over there last year while Hutch finished up his Dude transformation. Or we could possible bulk him or Hutch up and slide them inside.

Doubt Coach Partridge or Brown had any connections with him, judging by his list of teams, but maybe Coach C might have some incite.

That list does look kind of suspicious for a/the top talent though.

Color me intrigued.

Try to get him obviously. Talent is talent. Even if he fails to be a #1 talent I doubt Alabama and scouting services could've been off by much

He's from New Jersey... we have Jersey connections. If we get Campanile from NJ (who was at BC who also recruited Alfano) and Partridge on him maybe we have a chance? Maybe a pipe dream tho

There's a 0% chance of him coming to Michigan. Without getting into the details when we talk about kids that don't fit Michigan, Antonio fits into that category. Hell of a player, but he's a guy Saban took a chance on that hoped he'd reform a bit in his structured program. Obviously, it didn't work out.

Every year there are a ton of guys who get dropped from Michigan's board due to grades, conduct, and other issues. Michigan just won't take a chance on these guys. And inevitably fans every year get upset because Michigan isn't pursuing these guys harder.

Kareem had zero grade issues coming into Michigan— you have no idea what you’re talking about if you’re inferring we took a flyer on him academically. His issue was when he got to campus balancing football and school. Some guys aren’t cut out to do both at a high level unfortunately.

There’s an entire of list of smart, hard-working guys who couldn’t survive at Michigan. The days of The Demar Dorsey’s at Michigan are long gone.
