maybe in an alternate universe

Living in Charlotte and following the Panthers, I can say that Matt Rhule really never made much of a coaching dent here.
He spent two years breaking in multiple qbs without ever finding one who fit whatever offense he hoped to develop. Most of his energy was concentrated on rebuilding the team's defense for which he used a majority of its draft picks the last two years, including all of them in 2021.
He went 15-31 including 1-4 over three seasons before getting the ax. His replacement, a former Charlotte high school coach, is 3-4 after the team traded its best player, Christian McCaffery, and are hoping like the Lions whom they play Christmas Eve to make an unexpected run to the playoffs. Tis the season.

It’s amazing that mouth-breathing tub of goo father of his was able to have such an athletic (and apparently wise) son.

We love you. We think you’re awesome. Yeah, we were dating someone else for a while, and were planning to take them to the Prom. Yes, they just decided to go with someone else. So, I was wondering if you’d like to go with me.
The truth is.. you were always my favorite. Oh, if he - or someone prettier than you comes back to me - I’ll probably go with them. Does that matter?
I mean.. I really like you…

-1 for too soon (for me, personally)

Don’t be surprised if Moore doesn’t decommit from Oregon… Just kind of reading the tea leaves. I know he commented after the HS Championship that he was going to Oregon but that was before KDilly left. Don’t think he’ll pick us but I do know that his dad is a huge Michigan guy so maybe?? I doubt it but…Lol I would love it because he is a great talent but even more because it would kill Sparty who has claimed he was coming there.

the kid throws the long ball like Steve Bartkowski.
December 17th, 2022 at 1:37 PM ^
is...is that a good thing?
could you maybe compare him to someone more recent, like Brian Sipe, or Ken O'Brien? Maybe Jeff Geo--eh nah
December 17th, 2022 at 3:14 PM ^
there was always cut ins during games showing Steve Bartkowski throwing these awesome bomb. It seemed a regular thing on Sunday football games.
Was that before your time?
I know Jeff George was psycho, but man what a beautiful pass he threw. It was the most 'professional looking' pass ever. Bert Jones was second in that regard. But is he from too long ago too?
December 17th, 2022 at 3:41 PM ^
Not really. In half of Bartkowski's NFL seasons (6 of 12) he threw more interceptions than touchdowns. He connected on an occasional long ball but almost as often he connected with the other team.
156 career TDs
144 career INTs

you watched football in the 70's?
December 17th, 2022 at 7:26 PM ^
Yep, my first sports heroes were John Brodie and Jim Plunkett
December 17th, 2022 at 9:03 PM ^
there were more interception s thrown then
You didn't enjoy those clips of Bartkowskis bombs to Billy Whiteshoes Johnson and others?

Chicks dig the long ball.

He should have stayed committed and flipped his commitment in January 2024.

Was hoping Frost leaving would shake him free. Frost apparently got too drunk to talk with him on a scheduled visit and Raiola vowed he'd never play for him.
December 17th, 2022 at 8:38 PM ^
That’s what the drinking problem rumors pertained to?!
maybe Frost wasn’t in a good place.

Ryan Day is really taking a thrashing on twitter.
December 17th, 2022 at 3:27 PM ^
still prefers it to 87-50
December 18th, 2022 at 12:11 PM ^
Looks like we are on a decent pace in the race to 100 points. Even if they beat us 49-13 next year we'd still be first to a hundred since that comment. 😆 I prefer a three game winning streak and winning that race though.
December 17th, 2022 at 3:30 PM ^
I see him play every home game (as mentioned in thread where he committed as well as one other I work at school he plays at). Hard worker and a physical specimen for sure...whole team had a bit of a disappointing year...his stats weren't amazing, but there were a couple game where you totally see why he is so widely sought after. He would be a huge get for Rhule
December 17th, 2022 at 3:54 PM ^
Hopefully Day ends up being Cooper 2.0. 11-1 seasons with losses to Michigan. That will make him last long there and give us the edge!
December 17th, 2022 at 4:25 PM ^
Georgia on my miiiiiiiiind!
December 17th, 2022 at 5:08 PM ^
This is why Davis hasn't committed yet. He is going to OSU.
December 17th, 2022 at 5:49 PM ^
Where did you hear that? That would be awful
December 17th, 2022 at 5:40 PM ^
Suck it!!😂
December 17th, 2022 at 5:51 PM ^
This is bad for Ohio, but not as bad as Mike Weber decommitting from us during the halftime of our 2014 loss at Ohio. He could have given us a pretty good RB room along with Deveon Smith and later Higdon.
Things are just weird with the portal, NIL, and recruiting period. Nobody wants to be 2nd fiddle so anyone could actually transfer or change their minds 4 times in 4 years.
I expect he will go the Nebraska because of the chance to be a hero. And Rhule is clearly a really good CFB coach for what he did at Baylor (much bigger than Frost at a directional Florida school) after the Briles meltdown.
