Best thing you saw: Week 8
Not gonna lie, the pickins' feel a little slim this week. College football is still amazing to watch. Some very entertaining games early (OK-KSU, Syr-YTM, 'ville-FSU, Ok St.-Tex).
Non-M: Congrats to the young men of West Point. Bowl eligible and already selected for the Armed Forces Bowl. It's always a good story when these young men have a positive season on the field before their service. The Black Knights success is the best thing I saw.
M: Welp...JOK certainly a bright spot. The composure of Rashan Gary - if I were held that much I'd want to punch a ref. All told though, I'm going with "Hello: Mustapha Muhammad". The future is still very bright and we knew this year wouldn't be like the last two (though the 'how' doesn't make it feel better.
Go Blue!

The best thing I saw was my own realization that Michigan football is just not what it used to be. I'm honestly at peace with that.

Phenomenal.
Now that you've come to that conclusion, you should go focus your time and effort elsewhere! Perhaps take up gardening, or photography.

A+ for username relevance.
Seriously tho get a grip people

I'm with you! I actually registered it for the express purpose of yelling at one particular person after the Michigan State loss. One 8-4 year after two 10-3 seasons and people are jumping off the cliff, it's incredible.
I've lurked a lot here over many years and I hit the breaking point and had to jump in after that one. Hopefully things will calm down again so I can go back to lurking instead of getting in internet fights like a Cheeto dust-fingered 7th grader.

Please. I'll have you know that I'm actually Wolverine Devotee, as are you.
I also have no qualms about being with somebody who wants the more awful parts of our fanbase to get a grip, negative points or not.

You people have been posting this after every loss since App St. Either shut the fuck up or stop watching.
October 22nd, 2017 at 12:19 AM ^
Cause the only other game I was able to watch today was seeing the officials hand MSU a game, so that was a really fun Saturday all around.

I played on a HS team that continually got their butt kicked. That's no fun. Rutgers undoubtedly returns to Earth in 7 days, but good for them for tasting some success.
Iowa State --- they are rolling. TCU comes to town next week. Win that and they control their destiny in the Big XII.
Today was the first time I've watched GameDay in probably 3 years. Lee looked good, crowd-surfing to start! Happy he's still fighting the good fight. As a PSU fan, I was also happy there were very limited JoePa/409 signs. The students didn't really embarass themselves today (I was a bit fearful).
I don't think LJ Scott was pulled over today. So that's progress. Of course, the night is still young.

The best thing I saw was our fanbase begin to come to grips with the unfortunate reality of what is hopefully our final rebuilding year.
October 22nd, 2017 at 12:34 AM ^
The problem is you can still win key games in rebuilding years.
I honestly wouldn't give a shit about this result, but the fact that we fucking lost to msu at home makes this a lot worse.

I wont disagree with you on the MSU game, that was one we should have brought home

I agree that he played much better tonight. I'm not sure if that's the O'Korn we'll see the rest of the season since he seems to be highly inconsistent. And I think he's our guy regardless of what I'd prefer. I'll have to trust Harbaugh on that.

The best thing I saw, our nanny getting married to the love of her life. Our 4 kids had a blast dancing, socializing, asking to see 'Miss Lexi's' dress, and being the second best star of the 'show.'
It was tonite that helped me realize football is amazing, great, and a huge part of me and my family's life, but there are a ton of other moments of life that really are much more important. Spending time with those who matter significantly more than a football game and creating memories that will last forever.
Forever, Go Blue! But, remember, there are other things in life that have significantly bigger impacts on our life than a football game.

Mustapha Muhammad has got my vote. Not much else to compete with. Hockey looking good was the only sports positive this week for me, maize pants were also awesome, and that's all for good things.

I'm not even an Astros fan but whenever a team plays a long series vs the Yankees in the playoffs, I feel an irresistable urge to root for them vs the Yanks.
In CFB, I liked seeing that Iowa State won again. I also still root for Arizona because I still like to see RR do well for himself, so them winning was pretty nice too.
Other than that I find it remarkable how USC got rolled in South Bend. I do think Darnold is hugely overrated and I have little faith in their HC as well. Brian Kelly is an interesting case because he's clearly a capable coach on some level but also very dislikeable. He's still around at a place where it's easy to get fired after 'unacceptable losses' of which he's had a few. Maybe they finally realized that firing every coach at the first sign of discomfort isn't the way you get to be like Alabama either.

not much really another depressing saturday and more posts about how Harbaugh will get things done. God this is getting ridiculuos
October 22nd, 2017 at 1:12 AM ^
We were lucky that Harbaugh wanted to even coach here. It will take time to rebuild this program.
October 22nd, 2017 at 1:32 AM ^
Regardless Harbaugh is looking more and more like Cooper at OSU. A good coach and a good guy but cant win the big games and the proof is in the record
