Just pound it 4 yards and a cloud of dust down the whole field, every possession.  Let our D hold them to a field goal on at least one of their possessions.  Win by 4 or more.

Can't argue on your points,…

Can't argue on your points, just meant the WASH game is looking like PSU from a UofM O vs WASH D standpoint only.   RUN RUN RUN RUN until they stop it, mainly to keep the ball out of Penix's hands.   We have 5 possessions and 4 TDs vs their 4 possessions and 2.5 TDs....or similar.... OK!!!

This game just Screams PSU…

This game just Screams PSU game to me.  We have NFL level coaches prepping for a game that has a big NFL vibe, "keep the ball out of their Pro Bowl QB's hands".   You have one of the best players on the other sideline at QB.

I asked my 12 yr old son late last night, "Let's say Penix is going to score a minimum 3 points every time he has the ball, and their defense can't stop the run, how do you think Michigan is going to approach this game to win it all?"   This is a time of possession, keep the ball out of Penix's hands, kind of game.  Let them drive and D hold them to 3, then march down the field with 5 yard runs and 8 minutes off the clock for 7 every time.   Rinse and Repeat.

I'm not in advertising, but…

I'm not in advertising, but I'm sure someone in this community is and can answer my concern.   With ads displayed during Live Action, can the networks charge as much compared to a full 15 or 30 second traditional commercial?

If you can't charge as much, I guess you would just increase the Live Action ads to make up the revenue gap.

I'd love an advertising pro's opinion on this!

I like this idea.  More of a "Localized Relegation".

FB Dive, I don't disagree…

FB Dive, I don't disagree with your points much at all.  It's part of the reason why I love this debate for college football.  It's something that more than likely will never happen, but offers great debate on "what's best".

My counter arguments would be that relegation would provide more consistency in coaching, especially for lower level teams that are on the cusp of promotion.   It's more likely a coach that helped build the program into promotion wouldn't jump for a higher program due to what was just built.  I also don't feel relegation would be any more devastating that a few bad hires like Michigan and Tennessee (among others in the past) have done.  Relegation could increase alumni support/donations to get back up to the promoted league.  Redemption arcs would be a bit longer in timeframes or a slightly different style, but still doable (ex: Leicester city).

Lastly, ChatGPT has some holes in the data.  I didn't go through each team and year, but thought it was close enough to share to see close to "what could have been".

Reminds me of that scene in that famous movie:

1967 Parole Hearings Man: Well, it means that you’re ready to rejoin the athletic association of universities…
Red: I know what you think it means, sonny. To me, it’s just a made up word. A politician’s group, so young fellas like yourself can wear a suit and a tie, and have a job.

I would propose either a 15…

I would propose either a 15 yard penalty or half the distance between the line of scrimmage and the yard the foul occurred (which ever is greater).  To me, this rewards the O with more yards on long throws to keep the DBs a little more honest.

Big day of sports tomorrow!   First, 9am, my 6 year old son's first bball game.  Then, watch the recording of the USMNT beat The Flying Dutchmen.  Followed by 4p my 10 year old son's bball game in which I am the head coach.  We'll try to put that game away quickly so we can get home to watch our Wolverines win back to back B1G Championships!!!

Sent to me from my LSU…

Sent to me from my LSU friends:

"From an article on The Athletic:

To people and sources inside the program, there was no moral issue with Orgeron enjoying his life, but it was noticeable that football wasn't his entire focus like it had been in years past, and it became a distraction.  There was the infamous 2020 photo of him in bed with a woman, among other photos made public.  Multiple sources said he brought women around the LSU football operations building.  It all took place as his decision-making and coaching performance declined.

'It was a distraction' one LSU player said.  'In 2019, there was no, 'Whats Coach O doing postgame or Sunday during the day? Is he laying by the pool with a lady?  He was planning events other than football.'  It created messes for him, like the time Orgeron pulled up to a woman at a gas station wearing exercise attire.  "Hey, you look like you work out," he said, according to multiple sources.  "We could work out together."  The woman informed Orgeron she was married and pregnant, to which he responded, "Why does that matter?"

That woman was the wife of a high-ranking LSU official.  Word of this reached the LSU Board of Supervisors, the collection of prominent Louisiana attorneys and business owners appointed by the governor who make the most important decisions at LSU.  And of course, it reached the LSU athletic director Scott Woodward."

Based on these events, I'm not sure LSU would take a chance on a coach like Meyer considering his background and past behaviors...

I believe that's the favored type of mustard for Buckeye fans.  Conveniently fits in their coolers.

It's a very gray line on…

It's a very gray line on what counts and doesn't count as a penalty.  The rules have to allow for the Defense to communicate to each other, make changes, and use any means necessary to gain the attention of their teammates (especially at road games).   BUT, it appears the rules changed to include clapping as a No No because that's what the Offense/QB on a lot of teams use as an official snap count/hike.  Yelling "Move" wouldn't be a penalty until more teams have their offense yell "Move" to snap the ball and the rules committee decides to add that to "the list".

National Golf Links - Played…

National Golf Links - Played in 2019 the week before they opened.  Buddy's FIL did work on the clubhouse and negotiated in a free round of golf for 4 guys.  Funny part was, the FIL doesn't play golf, but knew how rare of an opportunity to play the course was.

Pebble Beach - Played back in '95 on Spring Break.   Tee time was early and the grounds were soggy, so the starter had us tee off on #3 and finish on #2.  Played through and got to the green on #2 where the starter was waiting for us to finish.  "Hey...since you're out here, why don't you just play the rest to #18?  No charge."   I looked at my Dad and the 2 Irish guys we were paired with and said "Dad...I'm pretty tired and Mom's probably waiting for us.  Let's just call it a day."   I still wake up in the middle of the night with that echoing in my head with probably not as much disappointment in myself as my Dad had in that moment.

Bethpage Black - only #18 the day before the PGA Championship in 2019.  We were at the bar after finishing BP Red and the bartender heard us joking about sneaking out to play #18.  He walked over and said "what are we going to do?  Kick you out?  You've already played a round and are leaving tonight anyways" and walked away!   So we snagged 4 clubs and 4 balls each to play 18 with the grandstands surrounding us.   It was spectacular.

Only other spectacular course would be Saint Andrews, but only watched my Dad tee off and finish on #18 with tears in my eyes, just wishing I was playing with him.

The best thing I saw, our nanny getting married to the love of her life.  Our 4 kids had a blast dancing, socializing, asking to see 'Miss Lexi's' dress, and being the second best star of the 'show.'

It was tonite that helped me realize football is amazing, great, and a huge part of me and my family's life, but there are a ton of other moments of life that really are much more important.  Spending time with those who matter significantly more than a football game and creating memories that will last forever.

Forever, Go Blue!  But, remember, there are other things in life that have significantly bigger impacts on our life than a football game.

My big question

My biggest question out of this is what happens if some of these 'dots' get connected with high level NCAA employees?  There's a really good chance that some of these payments from Nike and Adidas went directly into NCAA employee hands to ensure the NCAA 'stays away.'

If one of the main goals of this investigation is to put a feather in the lead director's hat, then find a connection between the high dollar aparrel companies, big time universities, AND the NCAA would be a massive 'feather.'

This has the potential of getting really really ugly, and fast!
