Recruits that could have been
Does anybody watch college football, and see some of the guys who were committed to Michigan or someone who seemed to be very interested in Michigan and think about what they could have done here?
Something I have thought about throughout this year while seeing guys who were committed to Michigan make plays at other schools. This is a discussion that comes up every now and then on the board but with the state of college football right now it may be a good time to discuss some of the guys we wished would have ended up in the maize and blue.

www.Touchthebanner.com tab below, does a weekly piece on this on his website. He talks about former wolverines & committs and what they have done the past week. I believe it is Magnus on this site. Very Informative. Hope this helps.
Touch The Banner does a nice job, I enjoy it and take a look once a day

NO. JUST NO.
Not this week.
Remember that week when you got fired for something that was not your fault, and when your buddies took you to the bar to comiserate, they spent the whole night talking about all the women that dumped you for someone else?
Yeah. Just like that.

I'll admit that I was a little surprised by how solid of a player Conley turned out to be... I wasn't all that peeved when Hoke missed out on him, and thought he'd just be another depth guy at Ohio State.
Now I'm seeing projections of Conley being drafted as a late 1st rounder, smh.

I wanted him, but I thought he was a receiver. Watched a couple of his HS games when he was still committed to us, and was certain his upside was higher on that side of the ball. On defense, he'd occasionally get beat if a guy put a move on him, whereas on offense no one could match up with him.

He's a good college player, but I don't know if he's worth a 1st round pick. He's not a huge playmaker, doesn't have great measurables, and I think he'll struggle in the NFL when he can't be quite so grabby.

Weber is good, but he's not an elite back. I wish we had landed Damien Harris, even if it meant keeping Borges for another year... still can't believe Hoke/DB fell for the Nussmeier hype.

Pyror ran into the ground under Hoke or Gardner ran into the ground under Hoke? Question of the century.
December 3rd, 2016 at 6:06 PM ^
Hoke may not have happened had Rodriguez landed Pryor. That said, I really think it's best he ended up where he did. Even with all of the shit it brought down on Michigan.

I'm watching Deshawn Hand and Damien Harris right now. I can't say I blame them, but it hurts.
December 3rd, 2016 at 6:21 PM ^
Our D didn't really miss Hand though. Now Harris, we could have used him.
December 3rd, 2016 at 6:28 PM ^
Imagine if we landed Hand and Mcdowell. We could have gone 10 deep on the DL.

That said he was the price for Harbaugh as he recommitted with Hoke departure so it was a necessary sacrifce.
Wasn't he coming here until we fired Borges (something about his high school coach being close with Al). That was two years before Harbaugh.
