CC: Sherrone Moore, no interviews needed
He's tutored under our best, the players support him, he proved it in 4 games already.
The man found out during the flight to State College that he would need to be HC... AND OC... AND OL coach.
He won. He didn't just win, he called a brilliant game, and his OL paved Penn State when JJ was hurt.
If you need a reminder of who he is, go watch the YouTube video of his post-game interview in State College. You know the one.
Then he beat OSU.
He's 1-0 against Third Base. 1-0 against Frames.
I don't need to know any more. Nor do you. Nor does Warde or Santa. Sherrone may or may not succeed, but he's earned the right to try. Any hire other than Minter would be hugely disruptive, and the only candidate who might be better just replaced Nick Saban.
And in case you've forgotten, the last Wolverine coordinator promoted to HC won a national championship and is a Michigan legend.
The only open question is whether U of M could find some way to convince Moore and Minter to be Co-HC so we can keep them both, but I doubt U of M would be that creative.

I think it's more like explosive diarrhea everywhere.

I wish I could upvote this another 50 times.

ok. So I love potato and leek soup. I recently found this recipe and I have since modified it. let me tell you my life story and how it led to the recipe I am sharing today.
it all started as a 7 year old visiting my grandmother on a cold winter day. The snow was cold, wet. Perfect for making snowmen. The kinda snow that chills you to the core through your Thinsulate gloves and Eddie Bauer boots ……….

MOORE IS RIGHT NOW ALREADY THE HEAD COACH AT MICHIGAN. HE IS PREPARING A LIST OF POTENTIAL HIRES AND AND WANTS EVERYONE BACK WITH RAISES. APOLOGIZE TO ALL WHO WANTED SOMEONE ELSE BUT MOORE IS THE GUY TO LEAD US NOW. SHOW HIM SUPPORT!
I see I got neg for stating a fact.
It is already done. Moore is 2024 HC at Michigan. All the people who want a search want either a big splash name or don't like the fact that Moore will be a and I hate to say it Black coach at Michigan which to me is sad Bama took the guy who would have been maybe the only guy besides Moore Michigan would have hired.
I came on yesterday saying this because I have had someone who has knowledge to what is going on there and it is what was told to me.
Those wanting some old guy from Kansas or KSU are ridiculous.
January 25th, 2024 at 12:07 AM ^
Factions are already brewing.
January 25th, 2024 at 12:28 AM ^
Is it bad I am somewhat looking forward to half the board melting down regardless of the hire?
January 25th, 2024 at 3:45 AM ^
Not a good damn negative peep all season long now we got the chicken littles asking for someone, anyone else. Weirdos.
January 25th, 2024 at 10:12 AM ^
Well, there wasn't a negative peep about him taking over as HC because that wasn't really on the table, and everyone was enjoying the historic season. There was plenty of warranted criticism of his playcalling (lack of ingenuity, not using play action enough, etc) and I don't recall any big time recruits he brought in.
Moreover, I don't see anyone asking for anyone else, just some due diligence in the search. This post is just wholly inaccurate. And then, there is the insulting chicken little + weirdos comment - if someone has a different opinion, I guess I should insult them?
Looks like we found Moore's burner account!

I was actually whispering when typing and didn't like the smaller letters as it is easier to read the big ones. Also I have said it multiple times about who it is and no one seems to listen and people think there comments can change the Michigans mind. Moore is the coach it just hasn't been named yet. The fact people think they can post stuff about who they think will be a good coach is funny and wasting there time. People think they can come up with some guy out there and make it become real is not reality.
I am just trying to give people some inside info I had last night so all the different threads could stop. Instead of coaches we need to look for or talk about position coaches he could hire.
January 24th, 2024 at 11:46 PM ^
I shouldn't have enjoyed this as much as I did.
Now how can we get a Jump to Press Conference button on the MGoBoard?
January 25th, 2024 at 12:20 AM ^
You ever think about writing for the J Peterman catalog?
January 24th, 2024 at 11:19 PM ^
You know every time any thing happens in the Michigan sports universe mgoblog loses its mind. I remember when the majority of this board had semi reasonable takes.
January 24th, 2024 at 11:20 PM ^
I don't remember that. And I've been here since Haloscan.
It's pretty much what we do.
January 24th, 2024 at 11:27 PM ^
Oh yeah
Fire RichRod Fire Hoke, Fire Brandon, Fire Belein, Fire Bakich, Fire Harbaugh, Fire Warde, Fire Howard
How could I forget
January 25th, 2024 at 9:03 AM ^
Yes, but some of those worked, one way or the other.
January 25th, 2024 at 10:05 AM ^
Oh man, the RichRod flame wars of 2010-11 were epic. For just one example, someone called up my posting history and negged me 20+ times for directly quoting a Mississippi State linebacker's assessment of Rod's offense. And that was a flesh wound compared to what most others got. Emotions run high here generally but that period was the message board equivalent of Stalingrad.
January 25th, 2024 at 10:44 AM ^
Those were the days, my friend.
January 24th, 2024 at 11:31 PM ^
Seems we are getting a lot of yellow snow around here, no?
January 24th, 2024 at 11:47 PM ^
Jim saw something in Sherrone. There’s a reason he chose Sherrone as interim HC over anyone else on the staff down the stretch. I hope all UM fans and alumni back him 100% from day one.
January 25th, 2024 at 12:33 AM ^
Critical to Moore’s and teams success is full support of Moore. Hopefully we have learned our lesson.
January 25th, 2024 at 9:20 AM ^
Agree with you 100% but I guarantee there will be influential people who do the wrong thing because people are really stupid.
I want Moore to be the head coach, but unless the next guy is a bonafide criminal/shitty person, I will push every positive narrative I can at all times. I mean, as fans we can't do much. But when a "die hard," which is everyone who comes to a board like this, tells randos that Michigan hired the wrong dude, we become part of the negative/destructive narrative.

Seconded.
Harbaugh cemented his legacy. forever grateful he gave us these 9 years, 3 B1G titles, and a national title.
go win a Super Bowl coach. Love ya.

Dude nailed the audition. It is not even a question.
January 24th, 2024 at 11:19 PM ^
Running 32 straight times against Penn State because you knew you could was bad ass.
Also . . . it scared the fuck out of me. We punted a lot, but our D bailed us out.
Feel free to win scoring points too, Serrone.
January 24th, 2024 at 11:24 PM ^
Also because JJ injured his planting foot. Understandably, couldn't throw worth a fuck until he rehabbed it.
Sherrone was keeping him safe.
January 24th, 2024 at 11:48 PM ^
Good point. It was not obvious in real time JJ was injured. Not sure he was fully healed even in the NCG.
January 24th, 2024 at 11:21 PM ^
Yeah I'll be pretty upset if he's not the guy.
January 24th, 2024 at 11:24 PM ^
uh but i was told earlier that we are, and i quote, "better than this"
January 24th, 2024 at 11:28 PM ^
We're actually literally going to be struggling to keep up in NIL world. We're in no place to place big wagers on big names that might buttfuck the culture and roster Moore is already embedded in and positioned to maintain well.
January 24th, 2024 at 11:32 PM ^
I could only wish that some outsider would come in and BF our NIL game right into 2024. It's embarrassing.
January 24th, 2024 at 11:45 PM ^
I wish we were as good and smart as Texas A&M, Miami, Ole Miss, and Osu :(((
January 25th, 2024 at 3:49 AM ^
OSU and Bama have not taken any recruiting breaks at all. The two teams that also have a hell of a run the last decade (minus UM ass beatings). You want to stay relevant for a very long time? Keep recruiting at a high level year after year.
January 24th, 2024 at 11:16 PM ^
I'm the next head coach at munching chow university. Congratulations are in order
A toast to me
January 24th, 2024 at 11:18 PM ^
here, here, and congratulations coach. you'll do a fine job. munching chow.
January 24th, 2024 at 11:23 PM ^
Thank you kindly fine sir.
My first order of business is to go fund us some NIL dollars to buy a pizza.
January 25th, 2024 at 12:32 AM ^
At least you didn't mention buying cheeseburgers ...
😉
January 25th, 2024 at 12:41 AM ^
Yet, I did not mention buying cheeseburgers yet
Well shit I guess I just did
January 25th, 2024 at 3:50 AM ^

We can all agree on this one.
Dude puts weights on their faces!!
January 24th, 2024 at 11:24 PM ^
Ben or Justin?
January 24th, 2024 at 11:18 PM ^
And Brian Ellerbe won the Big Ten Tournament before being named the permanent mens basketball coach. I am sure that Sherrone will do well but it is a different beast when you aren't just an interim coach.
January 24th, 2024 at 11:30 PM ^
For 3 hours on a Saturday ~ 4 times. That is literally all he has done (as it relates to being a HC).
January 24th, 2024 at 11:37 PM ^
Which is more experience than Kirby Smart had when he took over at Georgia.
January 25th, 2024 at 12:09 AM ^
Kirby was an elite recruiter and an elite DC. Moore is a good recruiter (pre-NIL, seems like no one on the staff is great with all this shit going on), an ok OC, and an elite OL coach.
Kirby was a risk that paid off big, but he was less of a risk than Moore.
