How is this possible? Bucknuts have been telling us JJ is mid.

Well it sure ain’t McCord and there’s…uh…my gawd…this conference is terrible

Deacon Hill was robbed!!

They're all terrible. Behind the top two or three teams, every conference is a morass of mediocrity. The elite-ization of college football continues apace, the main difference being that we're not complaining as much because Michigan is firmly in that top tier right now. But we saw this happening in 2019 and we were frustrated by it and it's still happening.
The SEC has Georgia and Bama and a bit below them... uh... Missouri plus LSU / Ole Miss squads with no defense. And nothing. Pac 12 is Washington and Oregon and nothing. ACC is FSU and nothing. Big 12 is Texas and then sort of OU and nothing.
The B1G is actually doing a bit better because there are three elite teams plus an Iowa team that is the inverse of the LSU/Ole Miss thing.

Nothing against driving a Honda McCord, but JJ is my guy!
November 29th, 2023 at 12:24 PM ^
Other than McCarthy, McCord and maybe Allar, I’m not sure there are any other Big 10 QBs who even reach the level of “mid.”
November 29th, 2023 at 12:29 PM ^
Tagovailoa maybe?
November 29th, 2023 at 12:32 PM ^
Yeah, got to be him. But of course he is... uh, flawed.
November 29th, 2023 at 12:53 PM ^
Flawed for sure, but he threw for 3377 yards (most in the BIG) with 25 TDs to go with the 11 INTs. That's not bad, and def top 3 in the BIG.
November 29th, 2023 at 12:50 PM ^
Sure if you like running backwards to get sacked for 20+ yard losses and throwing stupid INTs in between your NFL level throws.
November 29th, 2023 at 12:59 PM ^
Right. Forgot about him.
November 29th, 2023 at 1:20 PM ^
Taulia may not be the conference's best quarterback but he is indisputably its most dangerous.
November 29th, 2023 at 1:31 PM ^
He is dangerous to both his opponent and Maryland. Does that make him a dual threat QB?
November 30th, 2023 at 10:39 AM ^
Well done. I laughed, out loud.
November 29th, 2023 at 9:47 PM ^
I’d argue he’s better than allar

I was expecting 2 or 3 of the QB transfers in the west to be functional. But gawd.
November 29th, 2023 at 12:27 PM ^
It was going to be McCord, but he ran through a car wash and, sadly, drowned.**
**Kudos to The Gorgeous One

Well deserved
November 29th, 2023 at 12:19 PM ^
Well-deserved.

When was the last time Michigan had QB of the year in the Big 10?
November 29th, 2023 at 12:24 PM ^
Looks like never since the award started in 2011.
I thought maybe Denard, but he won OPY in 2010.
November 29th, 2023 at 12:27 PM ^
Was going to get enraged that Denard didn't win but in fairness Russell Wilson did and he was incredible that year.
Notable that OSU has won the vast majority of those awards.
November 29th, 2023 at 12:37 PM ^
Edit: Already answered, Denard won Offensive POY in 2010, though. Harbaugh is the only other QB to be named POY.
Michigan's other POY/ Offensive POYs:
Carter, Desmond, Wheatley, Chris Perry, Braylon
Also, two in a row for Blake!
November 29th, 2023 at 12:22 PM ^
Love it.
November 29th, 2023 at 12:24 PM ^
Sounds like the Wilson touchdown on Saturday melted enough faces to make this happen. Good for JJ!
Corum may have looked more electric last year, but he's outscoring entire teams, so yeah.
November 29th, 2023 at 12:29 PM ^
Blake's scored 22 touchdowns on 202 carries. That's a TD every nine carries!
November 29th, 2023 at 12:55 PM ^
Stop showing off, math nerd.
November 29th, 2023 at 1:39 PM ^
The more you watch it in replay the more insane it is.
He threw exactly to where the safety was standing, looking straight at him, but his film review told him he'd be looking at his back in another half second.
Truly a pro-level read.

Zintner and Nugent also unanimous All-Big Ten
November 29th, 2023 at 12:33 PM ^
This doesn't make sense - I've heard JJ can't throw the ball. And, this past Saturday - he only had a completion rate of 80%.
There is something about The Team.. The Team.. The Team.
What a great example Team 144 is...
Congratulations to the entire squad, and especially those who were noted from a conference level.
Go Blue!

“What do I have to do, bleed?!” - Taulia
November 29th, 2023 at 12:43 PM ^
Thank goodness.
I was sure the Big Ten would job UM players.
Go Blue.

The #22 NFL pick gets a contract in the neighborhood of $15mil.
The top 5 contracts range from $35mil to $40+.
JJ should come back and earn himself another $20+ million. NIL should be able to get him close to $15mil. Think M is gonna be more pass heavy next year without Blake. He could easily be a Heisman contender all year and be a top 5 pick.
November 29th, 2023 at 1:31 PM ^
Has Lil Titti weighed in yet? Might want to jump in front of those being handed out.
November 29th, 2023 at 1:38 PM ^
But they never would have had this kind of success if M hadn't been stealing defensive signals from opponents. But but but.
November 29th, 2023 at 4:03 PM ^
Still can’t believe the BIG named it the Greasy Breeze Award.
