"Sources with knowledge tell TheWolverine.com the injunction has been filed and they expect a ruling “tonight.”

Or just once with Balefire
November 10th, 2023 at 5:26 PM ^
Let's go! Do we know what court? Or is that premium info?
November 10th, 2023 at 5:29 PM ^
it doesn't say unfortunately
November 10th, 2023 at 6:15 PM ^
Haven't seen it confirmed, but I believe they chose federal court (Eastern District of Michigan).
November 10th, 2023 at 5:31 PM ^
My assumption is state court. I didn't see it on a quick search on Pacer.
November 10th, 2023 at 5:34 PM ^
State of MI presumably, but the team is in PA now. Would need to be a federal court?
November 10th, 2023 at 5:35 PM ^
Nope, but the Big Ten could remove it to Federal.
November 10th, 2023 at 5:51 PM ^
Why do you think the Big Ten could remove it? There may well not be complete diversity, as every college is a "member," including at two in Michigan.
November 10th, 2023 at 5:50 PM ^
In my experience, cases do not always show up on Pacer immediately after they are filed. I have had some cases where the case does not show up for a couple of business days after filing a complaint. Think it can depend on the clerk.
November 10th, 2023 at 6:04 PM ^
Same. Not uncommon with a lot of e-filing systems that typically require a cursory review by a clerk before the submissions are accepted and put in the system.
Edit: nothing on pacer at 6:34.
Also, the pacer disclaimer at the bottom of their search results page is that "Newly filed cases will typically appear on this system within 24 hours. Check the court information page for data that is currently available on the PCL. The most recent data is available directly from the court."

Judge Judy
November 10th, 2023 at 5:47 PM ^
I heard it was the Washtenaw County Circuit Court.
Which leads to a questIon. If the TRO was denied in Washtenaw County Circuit Court, could Michigan appeal to either a higher court (locally) or to Federal Court?
November 10th, 2023 at 6:04 PM ^
How are judges selected in that court?
November 10th, 2023 at 6:09 PM ^
State judges in Michigan are elected but the governor fills vacancies by appointment
November 10th, 2023 at 5:27 PM ^
Nice Friday night assignment for the clerk.
November 10th, 2023 at 6:05 PM ^
It is if they're a Michigan fan. If they're a Spartan, even better.
November 10th, 2023 at 5:27 PM ^
Godspeed!

This almost makes me want the chronic masturbator/comedian back. Almost.
November 10th, 2023 at 5:31 PM ^
I haven't gone anywhere...
November 10th, 2023 at 5:35 PM ^
Mel Tucker?
November 10th, 2023 at 6:00 PM ^
No almost about it. No way this happens if he was in charge.
November 10th, 2023 at 5:29 PM ^
Does anyone know if an injunction is likely to be granted? The big ten statement was weak af but weirder things have happened.
November 10th, 2023 at 5:29 PM ^
So, how does this work? Felt rather ominous an hour ago. Should I be relieved or not yet?
November 10th, 2023 at 5:41 PM ^
You should feel like the players hopefully do. Michigan has a reasonable chance at a TRO, but it’s not a sure thing. Even if the suspension stands, as unfair as that would be, all is not lost. Don’t worry about what you can’t control. The game will be decided on the field, by the players, and even if Harbaugh isn’t there with them, they will win if they’re able to maintain focus. If they get too caught up in all of this and let it affect them, the pussy Petitti wins.
November 10th, 2023 at 5:50 PM ^
They players already have already had experience with operating under an alternate coach the first 3 games of the year when Harbaugh was suspended.
Who knew that farce would be an advantage down the road?
November 10th, 2023 at 6:26 PM ^
I really don't think it will matter if he is on the sidelines tomorrow. The team will be ready to go and laser-pissed off and ready with the "Everybody vs Michigan" mantra in full effect.
Maybe they can then get it worked out legally to get back on the sidelines for the last two games.
November 10th, 2023 at 5:30 PM ^
I'm guessing Washtenaw County? I'm not seeing anything on Pacer (Federal Court filing system).
November 10th, 2023 at 5:33 PM ^
Thamel said Washtenaw on tv. FWIW
November 10th, 2023 at 5:36 PM ^
Nice - I can stop doing my 10 cent searches then.
November 10th, 2023 at 5:44 PM ^
Nothing up yet on 22nds system.
November 10th, 2023 at 5:52 PM ^
As someone who grew up in Washtenaw County, hearing Pete call it "Washenetaw County" on live TV just made me dislike him even more
November 10th, 2023 at 5:36 PM ^
Depends on the application and database architecture behind the Pacer web app. If the web app is relying on a replication of the backend database, there could be a lag between the entry of the data and its availability in search results.
November 10th, 2023 at 5:36 PM ^
Hope not. Probably first move would be removal to Federal Court.
November 10th, 2023 at 5:38 PM ^
If it's an ex parte tro they could get it before the removal. There's some grounds for ex parte relief with the way the Big Ten has acted (delaying)... plus they're not as strict in Washtenaw than some of the other courts around here.
November 10th, 2023 at 5:39 PM ^
Hope you’re right.
November 10th, 2023 at 5:48 PM ^
What’s the basis for federal jurisdiction? Presumably W&C pled around it. No federal question.
November 10th, 2023 at 6:07 PM ^
Diversity. Amount in controversy.
November 10th, 2023 at 5:55 PM ^
You might not get it up on the Washtenaw system without clerks there to input it. They would send the emergency filing directly to the judicial attorney for the on-call judge.
November 10th, 2023 at 5:30 PM ^
I want cvs level receipts

Here's $3 off when you spend $10 on hair care products, will that suffice?
November 10th, 2023 at 6:15 PM ^
Black Hair Dye? Day is interested!
November 10th, 2023 at 6:35 PM ^
I don't need hair dye.
November 10th, 2023 at 5:31 PM ^
I’m refreshing this thread even more than I do a game day thread!
November 10th, 2023 at 5:31 PM ^
If this is rejected I will be absolutely floored.
November 10th, 2023 at 5:34 PM ^
I wonder if Tony Petitti has any idea about what he's gotten himself into. It reminds me of a line from No Country for Old Men- "If it's not a mess, it'll do till the mess gets here."
November 10th, 2023 at 5:47 PM ^
Pettiti has no hope to keep this job anymore. On one hand bungling this issue puts him squarely in M's line of fire. On the other hand, if this is somehow successful and he's allowed to remove Harbaugh, the other 13 will surely move to get rid of him asap. He can't be allowed to stay and then be convinced to take one of them down next. He'll be gone by August one way or another.
November 10th, 2023 at 5:56 PM ^
I get you and agree. But that doesn’t do anything for Michigan this week
